LG 4NE1 a good replacement 2G phone
I got this to replace my Qualcomm QCP-2700 that was stolen, and it has been a better performer than I expected. My QCP-2700 was a great 2G Sprint PCS phone, but it was God awful big !The LG 4NE1 is a slim dependable unit, it offers 2G faxing, and 19.2 data access too. Great phone for 7 Years - no problems!
This was my first cell phone ever and still lives in the pocket of my carpenter jeans every day.Its larger than most cell phone but that is what is great about it - it has some weight and length so it feels right on your shoulder with no hands, and it has a nice grip.I've dropped the phone over a dozen phones and it has never broken - its awesome. The speaker phone has base and clarity - unlike the tinny sound of most other speaker phones I have tried.I keep with this phone after looking at others in Sprint stores.

Stable and useful, but not terribly exciting (now)
I've had this phone for about a year now, and I've been pretty impressed with it.It's just enough of a geek toy to get stares and comments, but, having bought it for $100, it didn't exactly break the bank.I'm a linux guy, so it's also nice to have the option of using an SSH client (TuSSH) through the device to control my home system...I also have Eudora and EudoraWeb installed, which do a lot for the functionality.

************Samsung in general: the speaker quit working on the first Samsung I owned (with Sprint)after about 1.5 yrs.(Sprint refused to sell me another phone at a good price without resigning a contract, so I switched to T-Mobile.)The LCD quit working on the second Samsung (my S105 through t-mobile). I dropped the 3rd one into my swimming pool on accident (e315), so it was too soon to know if it was going to be a good phone!**************The Samsung S105 was a pretty good phone overall.I switched from Sprint to T-Mobile when I purchased this phone, and the call quality was much improved - so I don't know if it was the phone or the service provider.The battery was great,the interface was easy to use.The phone felt solid, but was still dainty.Sometimes when I would try to access the phonebook it would stall out, but not very often.After about a year of solid performance, the LCD displays on both the inside and outside went blank. (To be fair, I should add that I live in FL and often had the phone clipped to my waist when working outside - so it could have been the heat.) If this phone has lasted 2 yrs I would have given it a 4 star rating.Maybe a year is more realistic?(Astonishingly enough, the LCD on the e315 phone still works after a dip in the pool, but it won't stop vibrating when I put the battery in and the keys won't work.)My advice - think about buying the insurance or paying less for a phone! ... unbreakable...but
I agree with all, I have had this phone for over 4 years because I like candy bar style phones and it looks kinda cute. I have dropped ita thousand times and yet...it keeps on working. Lately though I discovered that it does not connect calls, so I have to shut it off and back on to make it work again. Unfortunately its not the fastest rebooter. I find the reception is impeccable and the quality of hearing the other person is very good. So I guess I will keep it for another while, since nowadays only flip phones seem to be sold :(

Had for years
I have had this terminator of a phone for a few years now.The software for it is wonderful.I can store multiple numbers for everyone, and have a little icon indicating if its a mobile number or a home number.Pictures and ringtones are customized for each person, and I can send out mass text messages to my buddies when I'm having a get together.

I've had the phone for a couple of years. I've lost it in the car, dropped it a number of times, just like the other reviewer.The phone's latest adventure was that I lost it in the blizzard in Washington, DC a couple of weeks ago.It fell out of my pocket and got buried in 6 inches of snow, but I didn't notice for an hour or so.By then I was on the other side of the city.I called the people who lived at the place I thought I dropped it, and asked if they could try calling it to find it in the snow.They couldn't hear it.After more than a week, the snow melted enough that they found the phone.I had flown back across the country and even ordered a replacement phone.Their son told me yesterday he had it and brought it to me.It not only fired up right away, but after a little wiggling around it is now even charging back up and seems to work just fine. ... Elegant
This phone, despite all its problems, is by far my favorite cell phone ever. No, it doesn't have a camera. Yes, I too had trouble with the screen dying after 2 years (just as I was switching services, fortunately). So I wouldn't go buying one used.
If your display dies...
Very common for the display screens (internal and external) on these phone to die after a year or two. Mine died after 2.5 years...BUT, I went into the LA Sprint Phone Store and they said, "this is a known problem" and replaced it on the spot for free with another one (factory reconditioned) and transferred the phone book entries. I did NOT have an extended contract. Pretty cool.

Great Cheap Phone
I bought this phone NEW for $20 from Sprint, over a year ago.I have dropped my phone at least 8 times and it keeps on ticking.I even tore the antenna out of the phone and it still works/receives calls with, even with one bar, lol.The battery life is amazing, days on end of stand-by time and usually around 3-4 hours of talk time.This is the cheapest, most simplistic phone I have ever had, but it's one of the best.Easy to use, it just needs text messaging and it would be awesome. ...
