5-0 out of 5 stars Great features, great phone
This is definitely Sony Ericsson's best effort. The phone does everything you would expect a phone to do and plays music, too.Battery life is exceptional, signal strength and call quality our superior to many phones I have owned.Bundled software is easy to install and use to transfer music.
4-0 out of 5 stars My first Sony Ericsson, A Review from a Nokia Fanboy
My previous phone was a Nokia 6600. It had a slow interface for 2006 and come on, I wanted to try somethingn new.Initially, I had planned on exploring my chances of buying a Treo but due to the rates, I gave up my plan. Without much pondering, I went and purchased a Sony Ericsson W810i. Now, it's been four months. Let me just give you a brief run thru of features, pros and cons.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great Phone!
This phone is almost perfect. Still good enough to give 5 stars.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Phone!
I recently replaced my RAZR with this phone and I couldn't be happier. I can hear the people I'm talking to so much better than I used to.Pre-loaded ringtones and graphics are kind of tacky, but I downloaded some from Cingular. But there is one thing you should be weary about. The buttons are very close together are might be a hassel to those with bigger hands than me.I have extrememly tiny hands and fingers, so this isn't a problem, but my boyfriend has a hard time using the buttons.
5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Phone
Ok, I am going to write a very short review and hopefully update it at a later point to give you more details.

2-0 out of 5 stars Turns off & bad placement for PTT button
Got this phone for my husband and boy do I wish we'd picked another. He wears his phone on his belt and just the act of sitting down pushes the PTT button.I wish there were at least a way to disable it!
3-0 out of 5 stars Defective phone?
I got this phone in April of this year with the recommendation that it had superior reception. Well, wrong. It gets tenuous reception at best. What my real problem with this model is that it is just plain defective! I went through 4 separate phone with 4 separate problems. I finally petitioned cingular for a different phone. Other than that I was happy with the ease of use (I'm no techie) apperance.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Phone
I love this phone. I was thinking about getting a RAZR but my friend has one and they just fog up because they are so fancy. I saw this phone and I instantly wanted to get it. Except for if i am not using the built in push to talk, this makes the button on the side very annoying. It always asks (PUSH TO TALK CHARGES WILL APPLY)when I accidentally press it this is very very annoying. Aside from this it is a great phone. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars unbreakable...but
I agree with all, I have had this phone for over 4 years because I like candy bar style phones and it looks kinda cute. I have dropped ita thousand times and yet...it keeps on working. Lately though I discovered that it does not connect calls, so I have to shut it off and back on to make it work again. Unfortunately its not the fastest rebooter. I find the reception is impeccable and the quality of hearing the other person is very good. So I guess I will keep it for another while, since nowadays only flip phones seem to be sold :(

4-0 out of 5 stars Had for years
I have had this terminator of a phone for a few years now.The software for it is wonderful.I can store multiple numbers for everyone, and have a little icon indicating if its a mobile number or a home number.Pictures and ringtones are customized for each person, and I can send out mass text messages to my buddies when I'm having a get together.
5-0 out of 5 stars agree with the indestructible part
I've had the phone for a couple of years. I've lost it in the car, dropped it a number of times, just like the other reviewer. The phone's latest adventure was that I lost it in the blizzard in Washington, DC a couple of weeks ago.It fell out of my pocket and got buried in 6 inches of snow, but I didn't notice for an hour or so.By then I was on the other side of the city.I called the people who lived at the place I thought I dropped it, and asked if they could try calling it to find it in the snow. They couldn't hear it.After more than a week, the snow melted enough that they found the phone.I had flown back across the country and even ordered a replacement phone.Their son told me yesterday he had it and brought it to me.It not only fired up right away, but after a little wiggling around it is now even charging back up and seems to work just fine. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars The worst phone that I had ever bought
The phone is slow, and the keybooard is too responsive.Sometimes I press one number and it is dialed twice. When I answer calls usually they are put on hold.I wont buy any other sony ericsson product ever.At least mobile phones. Also, sometimes the home charger does not charge my mobile. It is really bad.

1-0 out of 5 stars Bad phone
This phone is fine but the joystick will break and you will not be able to use the phone.

3-0 out of 5 stars a great phone if it wasn't for the weak-link joystick
This was my second Sony-Ericsson phone (the first was a T68i), and the fatal flaw in both phones was poor joystick design. In both cases, after about a year and a half of light to normal use, the joystick started to work erratically.Movement either did not register, or registered as 'Enter' rather than movement.Since you cannot do anything on this phone without using the joystick, it becomes difficult to perform basic actions, such as locating and calling a contact. It also means that I frequently make and have to quickly cancel multiple accidental calls due to unintended input before I make it to the intended number in the contact list.I will never again purchase a cell phone that has a joystick.

I have had this phone for a few months now, and I love it. It has a many features such as a built in camera, bluetooth technology, and it even has an infrared function, which can be used to send info to and from smartphones and pda's. it is very light weight, and has a wonderful design. The only problems it has is the camera is not the best, it only supports polyphonic ring tones, and it has too many different ways to get on the internet, wich can somewhat often get activated accidentally. overall this is a great phone, with a few minor corks in the design...

2-0 out of 5 stars It Has Potential But the Cons Overshadow the Pros
This phone would be great if it did not have so many problems. It has so many cool features, people love my phone, but sometimes I want to throw it out the window. My brother has the same phone and he wants to get rid of it just as much as I do. This is my third s710a and they all had the same problems:
3-0 out of 5 stars The good, the bad and the ugly
I have had this phone for nine months now, and now am hoping to rid myself of it. It is a very nice phone, with many features, and advanced options, yet it just leaves to much to be desired, in my opinion. Firstly, the voice quality that other people hear when i call them is awful. I think the microphone is on the front of the phone, ie that part that touches your face when you hold it at a natural angle. However, the quality has degraded as time has passed. Another problem is that the OS is very slow, and occasionaly requires a reboot. The battery life is iffy, and occasionally, just drops to almost nothing for no reason. Another problem i face is that it drops calls when i dial out of my phone book ~50% of the time. It is like it forgets that i asked it to call, but appears in the call log. And finally, the swivel design. I loved it, and originally bought it in part b/c i like the design a lot, but it is a pain. It takes some skill to do while driving or with one hand. Not bad, but i would like people to be able to hear my over the phone. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Phone Is Good - Star Wars Sucks
The first thing I did when I bought this was to delete all the Star Wars crap that was on this phone. Gimme a break!I settled for a picture of my cat -okay?Then I was happy!Like all camera phones, this took a few hours to figure out, but once you get it down, this little baby does it all.The pictures are only 1.2 mb, but good enough for cell phone transfers and the Internet. The video is amazingly good with the sound loud and clear, but you still hear the closest sounds to the phone louder. The display is attractive and there is the `go back' button, which helps in the beginning of learning.
3-0 out of 5 stars lousy battery life
For the most part, Im very pleased with the phone.. I did my research before purchasing this when my very faithful Nokia needed to be replaced. Phone has lots of features, but you must read the manual to try to figure most out.. sound quality, volume is fine.. in fact with cingular the signal strength is superb. The downside which i noticed right away was the battery life. No friggin way does this have a standby of 275 hours! My talk time total each day might be 1 hour.. if I dont charge the battery at the end of the day (overnight) it is dead the next morning. Maybe because I have 3 photos saved?? I doubt it.. I went back to the Cingular store and was told that is a common problem.. so they gave me a new battery, well it is no better. It is a pain in the butt to remember to charge it.. especially when the phone completely shuts down and will not start up unless it is charged several hours each day.. also the screen is not visible or readible at all outside on a sunny day.. cant even see the numbers on the screen to dial correctly.. forget about seeing the display at the beach!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Not bad.
I'm a pretty tech-allergic person.I've had this phone for about a year, and have been very happy with the reception I've gotten in and around urban and rural areas.Cons are that the camera lens and external display are not very well sealed, so dirt is sneaking in to fog them up.Unattractive, but not life-threatening.In addition, the external display seems to have gotten confused these days and doesn't consistently display the time and other icons, but rather a blank blue screen. The other day, the audio stopped working, meaning that people can call me, but I can't hear them, even though they can hear me.Despite all that, I am trying to replace it with the same model because I like the basic features and don't need fancy bells and whistles.

4-0 out of 5 stars Surprising from Sony
I bought this phone the minute it came out even though slimmer, more expensive phones were coming out around that time. I probably paid 170$ for the phone at the time. I had previously owned a Sony Ericsson T300/306 and found the phone to be bulky and impractical. All I knew was that I wanted a flip phone with a camera and WAP.
5-0 out of 5 stars A phone that is finally better than the Nokia phones
Before I got this phone, I had a Nokia flip phone. Unfortunately my dog chewed it up, so I went to a Cingular store to get a used flip phone they had availible and that was the Sony Ericsson. Even though the screen was hard to see outside (it was also was the same thing with my nokia phone) and the camera picture quality was a disappointing (worse than the camera on my nokia phone). I really don't care about using the camera feature on my sony ericsson anyways. Everything else had features I wanted and worked pretty good. The reception on the Sony Ericsson was alot better than the reception on the nokia phone I used to have. This phone was very reliable and I never had any phone related problems with it. Times that makes my phone act goofy is just because of the phone service carrier and their glitches (Cingular). ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Very Surprised at the good reviews of this phone
I was very surprised at how well of reviews this phone has.The reason I purchased my sony is because I saw all good reviews, then, after I got it, the screen went out just from a minor drop on our carpet.Cingular exchanged it but it cost me and I could only get the same phone. The new one I got flipped out on me and kept going off and wouldn't come back on.When it did come on it would flip out and flash and act crazy. It also would call me and have someones name that wasn't even calling me!!!Cingular exchanged this one for free because I didn't drop it and this time the phone I got flipped out again. It did the same thing as the second one only not as bad.I owned a Nokia 6010 for 2 years and sold it and it was still in good condition and NEVER had a problem with it.Heck, before I had Cingular I had a tracfone and my Nokia worked no problem, no complaints.Cingular, again after talking to a million supervisors sent me a new phone and I have yet to get it but I wouldn't order or upgrade to this phone again if I had to choose between it and chop suey!Get a Nokia you will get a better deal and quality.

4-0 out of 5 stars good phone
Phone is good... Doesn't have a great camera or music support, but it does it's job, and that's communication. Have no problems with it, and it's easy to use. It also feels much more solid than my v551 I previously had.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very cool and fun phone-one little peeve
I just got this phone as an upgrade through cingular. The first thing I loved was the bigger buttons, making it so much easier to dial than my old lg10. It is a little larger too, than my old lg10 and it is easier to grab and hold and talk on. This is one case where size does matter, smaller phones are incredibly difficult to use. I also love the external screen for a quick take on what time it is. Games are fun and easy to download. I like the features that allow you to see calls missed, messages etc. It's all very intuitive and easy to get the hang of. I always read through every manual when I purchase new items. The phone manual was fairly easy to use and helpful, but not actually necessary to read. I also got on ebay and bought a usb cable to connect my phone to my computer (apparently the upgrade phones don't come with cables, extra software etc. just the phone and a battery). So now I can update my calendar, to-do list and contacts straight from Microsoft Outlook. This is very cool, as now I really don't need to carry my Dell Axim around anymore. When I have an upcoming appointment (usually its a reminder to take my daughter to ballet or pick someone up someplace) my phone makes an entertaining little noise and flashes a reminder at me. As a home-schooling mother of 4 children, a store owner and a writer, I need all the help I can get keeping my schedule straight. The only issue I have with this phone is that the screen turns itself off too quickly and there doesn't seem to be any way of resetting it. I think Sony should have left that up to the user. I don't mind having to charge my phone a little more often, but I want the screen to stay on during my calls and not go off until I flip it shut! This is annoying and I hope Sony will update the software on this phone and allow the users to download a patch or something so we can have control over our own screens. Overall, however, I'm happy with the phone, the internet, the camera, the ring tones, and especially the connectivity with my pc. I'm going to wait another two years to get a new phone. I want the next one to play music like an ipod, have features similar to a pda, and do my nails (jusk kidding). ... Read more

This is my 3rd s710a and still I miss calls because it will not ring (goes right to voice mail.Customer service can not help the cingular store can't help.I plug the phone in at night and sometime during the night it goes into hibernation.I have to turn it off then turn back on to get it to work, and somethings during the day it will just stop ringing. One day I found it strange that the phone was not working so I turned it off then back on and sure enough I missed 8 calls. My wife has the same phone which we purchased at the same time and hers works just fine.

4-0 out of 5 stars I love this phone!
I have had this phone for nearly a month now, and must say I am really happy with it.As a phone it is loud and clear. The signal is strong. The speakerphone is great and people cannot even tell when I'm using it.As far as style goes, it's impressive.Everyone who has seen it either says "WOW!What a great phone!" or "That's too much for me, all I need is a phone to make calls with."I have a feeling they don't want to admit the inferiority of their own phone. That's cool.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great, but stay close to a power plug.
I have had the phone for several weeks now.I adore the feature set. Yes, at times the phone is a little slow to respond to interrupts, but it's nothing too alarming.Honestly, I think it's amazing what this thing is capable of.Thanks to it having MIDP 1.0 and 2.0, I plan on writing a television remote for it in Java soon (since it also has an IR port). The camera is a fun toy.I find it hard to take very crisp pictures because it requires that I keep still for over 2 seconds.I would say this isn't too much to ask, perhaps I should just cut back on the lattes.

4-0 out of 5 stars i love this phone!
I bought a T68i only for trips to Europe. It not only worked perfectly but I wanted to throw away my old cell back home. It's most notable aspect (after using a new SDA) is the intellegent and intuitive interface.Everything works as you would expect! No 'why the heck did it do THAT' experiences.Maybe it's the way the keys light up or the great screen or tones...

3-0 out of 5 stars Good but can be Better

4-0 out of 5 stars White Screen of Death (WSOD)
Hey guys,
5-0 out of 5 stars awesome phone.all the goodies you need!
this is by far the best phone i have ever owned.i've owned almost every motorola, nokia and sony phone, and so far this one has been the best.easy to use, no dropped calls, and a solid frame!everything everyone else has written bad or good is right on.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good phone but buttons are awkward
I have a camera and an IPOD, but who wants to carry around everything all the time?So I bought this phone to lighten my load and have been very happy with it for what it is.My only complaint is the side buttons.I often push one or the other by accident, or when I am twisting the phone to open it.I have accidently connected to the internet several times. And compared to the flip phone I used to have, or the push up one my son has, the twist style is harder to open one handed.I got a good deal it on ebay, already had a cingular contract.Saved a bundle and didn't have to sign up for two more years. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great, durable, comfortable phone to carry around
This is a great durable little, sleek phone that fits in your jeans' pockets. True, it doesn't have MP3 and does not come with an included Camera, and, though It'd be cool to have those, I don't really see the disadvantage on that. The only problem I've got with this phone is that the highest volume for the ring tones is not enough for *me*, as I tend to have it inside my purse that's inside a drawer, on my noisy factory office - A lot of machine noise in the environment-, so I miss many calls.
5-0 out of 5 stars Dont believe the trash talk...great little phone!
Wow, unbelievable amount of negative reviews for this solid, compact little guy.
4-0 out of 5 stars LOVE IT

4-0 out of 5 stars small and cute
this phone is a very good phone and easy to use. takes very cool pictures with its 33mm camera

3-0 out of 5 stars Not great but not bad either
Apart from functioning as the normal cellphone. I liked the software User Interface in this phone. I dont want to compare with any other models, since this is the only phone I have used from Sony. The other phone I had before was Nokia, which has the best user interface (both software and the keypad).
2-0 out of 5 stars One of the worst phones I've ever had
I bought this phone after using it predecessor the Sony Ericsson T610, and it was a complete let down.Among its problems the phone I had suffered from a circuit chip issue and had to be replaced. The next phone I received suffered from the same issue. Finally the third phone functioned correctly, but still not as well as my original T610.It has a cheap feel to it and the software lags behind user interaction. While providing more memory than the T610, it gets worse battery life and sound quality. The camera on either phone was not very good, but quite frankly you can not expect much from a camera phone. These are my thoughts, only looking to help out. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Slow and reception cuts out
This cell phone has numerous issues.Sometimes it won't shut off and it takes forever for the buttons to respond.I have received warranty replacement and it still does the same thing. Also, the reception is lousy and calls get dropped.

5-0 out of 5 stars awsome!!!
This phone is the greatest! It has a good solid structure with a very good reception. I would recommend this phone to someone that has never had a cell phone. It has basically all the things a flip phone has except the flip and the supertones for the ring. ... Read more
