5-0 out of 5 stars It's My Phone!!
This isa great phone. The backlight is great, a really nice no nonsense phone. I love it. However-the riingtones are not the best, and neither are the games. Overall, this is a nice phone.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Phone for No-Nonsense Users
There are obviously fancier phones in existence than the r225, but for the person who is interested in using their phone to actually make and receive calls, and not as a video game player, camera or music player, this is a good choice. The phone features a great blue backlight (which can be turned off), an easy-to-use menu system that allows you to customize pretty much everything and good reception. To address some of the criticisms by other users:
1-0 out of 5 stars Horrible phone....but keeps on going.....unfortunately!
I've had this phone for a couple of years now...and the only reason I have it still is because the new one I bought was busted. This is a horrible phone. The reception is horrible - always static on the line, my voice echoes in it when i'm talking on the phone. The battery life is horrid - I have to recharge it every night it seems! The only positive thing I have to say about this phone is that it seems to be pretty durable. I've dropped it countless times and it's still around...surprisingly! Overall, I would not recommend this phone to anyone! ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars i own dis damn thing
Pros.
3-0 out of 5 stars A Teen's take on the x427
I received the Samsung x427 complementary for signing up for a two-year agreement with Cingular. It was pretty nice having a color phone, with real sounding ring tones, a sleek design, long battery life, and of course getting it for free. Not a bad way for someone's first phone. For a couple of months I was the "cool kid" for having a phone, not to mention a pretty small one. That only lasted a little bit.As we all know technology evolves real fast, and that left my phone in the dust. Here's my list of the pros and cons of the Samsung x427
1-0 out of 5 stars do not buy this
Usually I have little or no tower signal.I have many dropped calls and have NEVER had a clear call.It is fuzzy, and many times I can't hear the person on the other end or they can't hear me. I like the phone itself. But I have to say that the reception is more important, otherwise the phone is worthless.Cingular (like a person in another review mentioned) is not willing to upgrade the phone without a 2 year contract and I would have to pay for the upgraded phone. No Thanks. The 1 star is only because I liked the basic features of the phone. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Very Satisfied
I've had this phone for several years. For a while after purchasing this phone I had quite a few problems with the connection breaking up and such.Cingular couldn't help me other even after exchanging the phone out. They told me at the time that it was the phone and not the service. As a result, I started shopping for another phone and wound up with the Motorola V551 which I've been using for over a year now.I like this phone, but not the size and weight, so recently I switched back to the Samsung 307 because it is so much smaller and easy to use.Well, guess what, the signal strength is far better than it was, and calls are as good as the Motorola, so it was Cingular all this time and not the phone.I would highly recommend this phone for anyone who is not necessarily interested in having a camera phone. An especially nice feature of this phone is how the numbers are enlarged on the screen when entered on the keypad. No more squinting to make sure you've dialed the correct number. The calendar with alert reminders is also a very nice feature.I am now entirely happy with the performance and features of this phone.I may never go back to the Motorola.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Phone,Super Small, no problems at all! Love it!
I have had this phone for at least a year and half, maybe almost 2. I'm surprised to see the lower ratings given by other users. It is SUPER small, which I love. Slips right into your pocket and is very light. The interface is easy to use- big phone book, lots of ring tones, tracks incoming calls, outgoing calls, etc. Text messaging easy to use- predictive T9 text makes it so simple once you figure it out.It doesn't have a camera or someother high tech stuff, but if what you want is a PHONE for making calls and not feeling like you have a rock in your purse or pocket- this lil' phone can't be beat. The battery holds up well, I rarely have a droped call. The external display shows time and incoming phone numbers when the phone rings.Call waiting is great- and there is call waiting ID. My husband got this phone for me and I didn't realize that it is so tiny in comparision to other phones, until I recently started shopping for another phone for my daughter. I think I'm going to go with this one again, as I know it will work well in our area, and the price has come way down from the over $200 that we paid nearly 2 years ago. It has web capability and IMing capability but I've never used it. In summary- I'm looking for another one because we like it so much- I haven't had a single problem with this phone in nearly 2 years!

5-0 out of 5 stars Mathilda loves it.
I like my phones like I like my super-model walk offs:The first phone walks, the second phone imitates and innovates.Well, Samsung isn't imitating anyone with their innovation.

4-0 out of 5 stars Worth it!
i had samsung v205 for almost 3 years now and all i can say is it's one of the best phones i have ever had. although there are some darwbacks such as low batt life and sometimes it turns off by itself. Nevertheless, it is the best!i will never regret buying one and im delightful coz it's still working after all the heat, and drop!Viva la V205!

4-0 out of 5 stars The Durable Camera Phone
I just read two other reviews and realized that my Samsung v205 lasted almost exactly two years also.I must agree that this phone is most definetely durable (at least until the two year mark).I need to be honest in saying that the camera aspect of the phone really never impressed me.Comparing the quality to other camera phones, my phone was generally the worst. In addition, the lens always collected dust and debris that was VERY hard to clean out. Some "close-to-two-years" issues I found were the #7 key losing its sensitivity, the side hinge barrel breaking off (which happened while I was simply talking on the phone), and eventually, the internal wiring of the camera ripping in half to where it became nonfunctional. But for lasting two years (and a couple months), I give this phone my esteem.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great phone
I Had this phone for 3 years t is the best phone ever had

The phone is great. The signal strength was always strong. The battery life was good and lasted pretty long being that I'm always on the phone with my wife. The camera works great, no grainy pictures.Screen is big and clear.Calls are clear.
1-0 out of 5 stars POOR PHONE.... POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

2-0 out of 5 stars Flimsy, cumbersome, and just plain lousy

4-0 out of 5 stars i500
I really like this phone, although sometimes I wish more of its functions could be operated without the stylus, for when I am trying to one-hand it in the car or something. The quick buttons are great because you can assign them different destinations if you chose and the interent capabilities are much better than my last phone. I do wish though that it had a camera. The battery life is also very good.

4-0 out of 5 stars I've seen worse;-)
I like my phone! And it's ok that I can't text message out...I do wish I could use the browser instead of having to download a now one.

4-0 out of 5 stars PDA and phone in a compact package
No text messaging?I could not begin to care less.It is a PDA, better yet, it is a Palm OS PDA.I can link my Lotus Notes information to my Palm, including all of my addresses, phone numbers, notes, to-do lists, etc.I can write notes, transport documents from the office to home and make phone calls all in one very neat little package.I can surf the web, pick-up email and do a search on Google. Why would I need the kiddie feature of text messaging?

3-0 out of 5 stars (Rating: 6 out of 10): It's Good For A While, But After 2 Years...Eh?
I've had this phone since Christmas 2004 and I'd say that it's a good phone. I have this phone by Sprint Phone Service, and have been using that company for about 5 years. Easy to store numbers, text message, internet, you know, the whole nine yards, and that made me happy. What I liked about the phone is that if you took a picture of someone, you can store it in the phone in a way so that if he or she calls, their picture will pop up. Also the battery is good and last longer than usual, which I also like. The camera is pretty decent. I don't expect no high quality mega-pixel camera, but just something to take pictures with, and it works okay. It comes with features like flash, and a way to change the color of your photos.
3-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful until after 1 year!!
When I first bought this phone I was truely in love with it and its price. It has a great body and wonderful capabilities. I did not like the fact that it didnt have a speakerphone, but i could live with that.
5-0 out of 5 stars The reasons Why Sprint Nextel are the best!
Sprint in my opinion the best wireless carrier out their. It is odd that they merged with Nextel, because they are my second favorite.

5-0 out of 5 stars Well rounded, durable phone with some nice features
I was a little discouraged about getting this phone after reading some reviews, but I have had it for about 10 months now and can't be happier. I've had 4 different cell phones in my life and this one has been the best one so far. Two have been Samsung and I think they're one of the best cell phone makers. (Nokia is a horrible brand, I don't recommend Nokias.) This is a good quality phone that has outlasted a few falls and a quick fall into a sink with the water running. It takes pretty good pictures as far as I'm concerened. One thing about the camera part of the phone is that after taking a picture it comes out a little further away than it looked before you took it, but that is something you can get used to. I rarely have reception problems. The speaker phone works great. The only thing some people might not like is having to confirm turning the speaker phone on, but it's something you can get used to as well and it isn't a big deal. I really love this phone. It's a simple, durable, well rounded phone with some nice features. My whole family has this exact same phone and none of us has had any problems so far. We've all dropped the phone plenty of times with no problems whatsoever. The phone also has good battery life. I can go 2 or 3 days without recharging it. I highly recommend this phone or any Samsung phones.

1-0 out of 5 stars Nice Looking but Poor Reception
Great looking phone, very small and lightweight.Unfortunately, the antaenna doesn't cut it.I get no reception in places where everybody else has reception, and in places where there is interference, the phone drops calls regularly. For example, I can't talk with the hands-free adapter and have the phone in my pocket.I also can't talk whilst using my laptop, probably because of interference from the laptop's wireless internet connexion. This is an older phone, so I guess this problem is down to phone manufacturers' inexperience with making internal antaenna phones.I understand newer ones (e.g., the Pebl) are better.
4-0 out of 5 stars No frills phone works great as a cell phone
The Samsung E335 is a great little cell phone. It has one of the easiest interfaces to learn and is very easy to use.It is small enough to fit in most pant pockets and stylish enough with today's trends. It is pretty sturdy and seems well made.

4-0 out of 5 stars Ring Tone
I think this is a great phone, but I have one complaint. There is not one "ring" ringtone. All of the default ringtones are cute songs and jingles.I have tried downloading a plain ring from cingular.com but can't find any.Does anyone have any suggestions?I just want a tone that alerts me to a call but doesn't make me sound like a 13 year old girl.

2-0 out of 5 stars I'm taking this phone back ASAP
This phone is a huge let-down. It has so many possibilities, but none of them were installed/implemented/allowed! The landscape mode (which is the best feature) doesn't let you enter new phone numbers or browse the internet. The speaker quaility is HORRIBLE--I can never hear anyone, even when I'm in a room by myself. You can't access G-mail through the internet. The Mobile E-mail program took over my phone-it's horrible-plus I use Gmail. Overall, I was really disappointed, though there were some things I liked. The text and IM features are awesome. I also loved how there wasn't a camera or a PDA. I have a camera and a PDA--this is a phone, right? I highly recommend having them show you the phone in the store and letting you play with it there before taking it home. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars SAMSUNG NEEDS TO BE SHOVED OFF A CLIFF
SERIOUSLY PEOPLE I HATE SAMSUNG PHONES!!! At verizon the lying sales guy told me it was a great phone that was better than an ipod, that loading music was not just simple but "fun." so I not only bought the phone but I also bought the "necessary" acroument. I spent over a hundred dollars just buying the memory card so that I could hold more than three songs on my phone and the USB cable that I had to have if I wanted to download music onto my phone. Well lets just say that Verizon was VERY wrong to make a deal with Windows Media and not Itunes. WINDOWS MEDIA IS HORRIBLE AND IMPOSSIBLE TO USE. Every time you try to put the music on your phone it says you can't, it doesn't say why, it just says unable to do and it takes hours to load onto Windows Media (not the phone) even if you're computer savvy. I thought I was the only one, but I talked to other people I know that have the phone and they all HATE IT WITH A PASSION!!! On top of this, if your phone is on and something slightly touches the play button on the OUTSIDE of the phone it starts playing music. All and all I am saving your sanity by telling you this: DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE OR ANY OTHER SAMSUNG PHONES BECAUSE THE ONLY THING THEY'RE GOOD AT IS SCAMMING YOU OUT OF MONEY AND INTO THEIR SLIMY, LYING HANDS!!!My star rate would be -10, but I am limited to a one star rating.

4-0 out of 5 stars exelente aparato pero baja señal
1-0 out of 5 stars worst phone ever owned
This is the worst phone I have ever own. great camera/ camcorder but the reception is always breaking up. When I went to customer service in Verizon, this representative accused me of holding the phone incorrectly and I should re-program the phone ever time I come out of the subway!! Just that along tells you what a bad phone it is. The ringtones are awful. and to get decent ringtones you have to pay for it???

3-0 out of 5 stars horrible echo
The phone overall is okay. In my family, we have two of these phones. With my phone, I hear an echo every once in a while. My husbands phone has an echo every time he uses the phone. So everything he says is repeated back to him again about a second later. It makes every conversation very difficult. With that said, the point of the phone is to talk to someone and this phone does not do a good job of allowing you to do that.

3-0 out of 5 stars Average phone.
I've had this phone for almost a year.I got it for free after a rebate. It's all right for my first cell phone, but I'm thinking about an upgrade.
1-0 out of 5 stars Crappy phone
I got this phone, andafter taking a video it would not shut down. It broke because I took a video. This phone is not a very good phone at all and I would not reccomend it at all. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Ultimate Flip Phone without Bluetooth
Forget MOST of the negative garbage you've read about this phone.I am actually a dedicated Palm user and have had the Treo and just about every other device/phone/pda you can think of over the years. As opposed to many, I really use these devices for ALL the features they have.
4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent phone for Microsoft users
This is an excellent phone for users who use Microsoft Outlook.I have had no problems synching mail, calendar, contacts and tasks and have found the synchronization of Outlook contacts to be particularly helpful (you can set up profiles on multiple computers using ActiveSync).

4-0 out of 5 stars Get a free unlocked Motorola RAZR v3i instead!
Why settle for less, or commit yourself to a specific cellular provider and service plan, when you can get a complimentary unlocked top of the line Motorola RAZR v3i cell phone that works with any cellular service provider and any SIM card. I got mine free at this web site:ilikethis.info/razrv3i

3-0 out of 5 stars It's perfect if you want just the basics.
This was a pretty nice phone while it lasted. I had to trade up to a Motorola PEBL just because my x475 was getting annoying. Some of the reviews with the muffled speech I had never a problem with. But, you just can't customize it like you should be able to.
2-0 out of 5 stars An Average Buy
I bought this phone on the T-mobile website for free(web-based discount) and only paid for the shipping and handling (February '06). Reading the product summary on the phone on the T-mobile website made it sound like this fantastic over the top phone. But to me, I wasted money and should have went with a camera phone and paid more and gotten better features and enjoyment with some other phone.

3-0 out of 5 stars GOOD phone..THIS REVIEW WILL HELP...
I got this phone for my birthday...first time I saw it I loved it...it looked really awesome... I had the phone for about 5 monthes when one time the screen turned white...like I noticed another person who reviewed this phone said the same thing.I took out the battery and then put the battery back in and it was all ok again. It happens every so often...ive had the phone for nearly 11 months now, and its only gone white about 3 times... them i noticed that there is a squshy thing around the keys and that if you push that down to hard it causes the screen to go white, because everytime it turned white i was fiddling with the squshy thing...so if you get this phone i wouldnt mess with the squshy thing. But it is also easy to scratch since the front screen is somewhat like a mirrior.and scratches easily show up on the silver part..i was really careful about dropping the phone because its soo pretty looking.the camera is good, except the pictures comes out to dark. also sometimes id turn it off and turn it on and it would say it needed a sim card, even though it was in already in the phone...soo i would have to take the battery out and push the sim card in it. I REALLY LOVED THIS PHONE THOUGH. it doesnt have aim or anything but ive never seen anyone with this phone EVER.. its a really unique cool phone. I enjoyed it a lot.... yeah..but the color on the screen for the phone is really clear.
1-0 out of 5 stars worst phone ever
I got this phone 3 months ago as a replacement for the previous worst phone ever (the sharp tm 150). I kept the phone in perfect condition not a scratch on any of the screens maybe one or two small scratches just from regular wear. About two weeks ago the zero button stopped working which is quite a pain in the ass when you are trying to dial a number with a zero in it. Then a couple days ago my phone started to drop all outgoing calls after 2 rings and when trying to pick up an incoming call it says connecting for a couple seconds and hangs up (I called it myself to make sure). The phone is now useless as a phone and t-mobile wants to send me a replacement but my friend who runs a t-mobile store and 2 mall booths said that he doesnt even offer the phone because it is such a piece of crap. Now when T-mobile store managers say the phone blows does that make you want to get another one. When I told them I didn't want the same phone they said they can send me a phone with comparable features for $150 dollars but why would I want to spend another dime on their products and services when the last two phones I have gotten from them broke.
5-0 out of 5 stars Flashy without the actual FLASH!
I had been wanting this phone for about 4 months before I got it. The thing that drew me to this phone so much is since I am in college and everyone has a cell phone I wanted a cell phone that no one had. Out of whereve I have ever been I have only seen this phone once before, so I had to have it since it was such a limited demanded item.

3-0 out of 5 stars It's a good and very simple phone, considering its most important puropse
If you're looking for a cell phone to play mp3, or radio, or watching videos, this one is definitely not for you.
2-0 out of 5 stars the worst phone I've ever owned
I had AT&T service for two years before Cingular bought them out. AT&T was much better-the sales techs friendly and they were willing to replace any phone that I broke.Well, Cingular bought them out and my cell phone experience has steadily gone downhill.I was one of those college students whose parents handed me a phone when I left for school-or rather my dad went out and bought me a phone after finding out that I would not be able to call home when I left for college because of the whole long distance issue. This was my first non-Nokia phone. My first Nokia was a breeze: perfect reception everywhere, even in the remotest of places. The second one was likewise, except its screen was defective and that was what brought me to getting a Cingular contract and this phone-my first Samsung.I had been informed by several friends and roommates that Samsungs have an annoying thing for breaking when they are flip phones. So I chose this one.At first, the phone was fine. And then it started to drop calls.People I called would either comment that I sounded like I was yelling when I was not, or that they could not hear me at all.At times the phone is very loud-it has to be turned down. Other times I cannot hear what anyone is saying. This phone takes longer to start up.It has a tendency to drop calls. You cannot buy a faceplate for it.It does not take abuse. It is overall a very frustrating phone, and this phone was accompanied by lackluster service. If Cingular is going to insist that you get two years use out of a phone, then, for crying out loud, the phone should last for two years. This thing is already falling apart, the battery only stays charged for a day-and I still have one year left.Horrible, horrible service.Never again.I think I will try T-Mobile when my contract runs out.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great, simple, tiny phone
After reviewing all the phones available, I went with this one and am happy with it. The Motorola's rated high, but were way too big; the LG's seemed felt flimsy and the others seemed to be a crapshoot as to whether they'd work.
