Slimmest, Stylish Phone (Lacks some useful features)
A first look at this phone and you will be tempted to buy it. However, it makes a lot of sense to go through all that it offers and make the buying decision simply because there is a choice of variety of phones available on the market in the similar category.
Early observations with t519 Trace
Early Negatives:
decent phone, but definitely room for improvements

Sexy Phone with Overall Good Build Quality
i have had this phone for over a week now, and i am very satisfied. let me tell you for the price you are getting is a steal. how can one make money by getting a new phone? i dont know but i dont really care either.
Poor design
I can hardly pick this phone up without accidentally hitting the volume or speakerphone button. The manual that comes with it uses little icons instead of written words. Besides being almost indistinguishable from one another, these icons make reading the instructions akin to reading a coded message. You really have to stop and study each icon to figure out what the hell they are talking about. From brand new, the battery needs recharging less than every 48 hours. Just doesn't seem to hold a charge worth a darn. Poor reception... really poor inside. The menu buttons seem to be strategically designed to get you to use the various V-cast and additional charges type functions. It makes it harder to use simple phone functions. I bought the case for it and it's a bust too. The way it's made, the phone won't close properly and the clear cover over the keys, makes pressing them individually almost impossible. I have nothing good to say about the design or function of this phone.
Why I like the Samsung a930...
I don't know why people rate this phone so bad, when it really isn't so bad.I'm writing this review for my mom since we both own the phone right now (My name is Keli speaking for mom - Deslina). We got it as a deal by just going to the Verizon store (2 phones with new contract for $100 with a $50 rebate = $50 spent for 2 of these phones). That was just the first positive option I found for this phone.

Just right
I have resisted cell phones for years and years. In fact, I hated them.I finally gave in, and I got this Samsung b/c it was cheap without being suspiciously cheap (i.e. "free") and received a good review at CNet.I have to say, I have been very impressed.Yeah, I'm a rookie when it comes to these things, but I've been using telephones for a good long time. What I know is that between the Verizon reception in my area and the phone itself, I have call quality that is far superior to the setup I had for the last year and half on VOiP.Granted, VOiP perhaps just sucks, but I didn't think that in going cellular I would actually have better call quality. My brother used to hate talking to me for more than 20 minutes. With the samsung and verizon, we have far more enjoyable conversations.
It's a good cell phone
It's a very good cell phone. Sound is very clear and loud enough for your freind to hear even in a very noisy area. Much better than my first LG cell phone

Good phone with a couple drawbacks
First off, this phone is very thin and light. It is hardly noticeable in my pocket and has a cool design. I have tried the 1.3 megapixel camera and am pleased with how it functions in comparrison to my previous phone the Motorola V360. The calls seem clear, the signal is strong and it has been pretty reliable.
Thin and Lightweight
I upgraded from my Motorola V180 to this camera phone because I upgraded my plan to have the myfaves feature. My review is a little comparison to my old phone considering this is my first Samsung phone.
A sleek improvement on the T609, but... where's microSD?
I held back from buying a Samsung T609, knowing that this phone would soon be released. The functions are almost identical, and the new form doesn't disappoint - sleek, thin, yet feels sturdy and works great. However, they took out the microSD memory expansion slot! Why the tradeoff, Samsung?Beware if you're looking to use its MP3 functionality or to make good use of its 1.3MP camera: with only its 21MB of internal memory at your disposal, it won't hold much.

God I wish it worked better
This is a sleek little phone that I wish so very much would work better.I had it for two weeks. Most of the time it worked fine, however, sometimes I would go to pick it up off the counter where it had been sitting for hours and it would give me an error if I tried to push any buttons or make any calls. It would need to be restarted before it stopped doing this.Other times the screen would just go bright white and stay that way until I powered down the phone.
I HATE THIS PHONE!!!!
After going through 2 Razr phones T-mobile offered me this phone as a replacement and I took it cause my warranty on the Razr was almost up and I would get a year warrenty with the T509... you couldn't PAY me enough to keep this phone for an entire year!

Decent phone
Overall this has been a good phone.I love the size and weight of the phone.I have had it for about a month now.I have had a couple things that I have not been as happy with. When a get a busy line, I most times get no busy signal at all or occassionally I get about three beeps that are barely audible. The caller busy display only stays up a couple seconds and is gone by the time I take the phone off my ear and it returns to the original screen. Many times I am unsure if my call has even gone through and I have to redial and look at my screen to see what is going on.At first, I thought it was dropping my calls.I have had a little trouble hearing people that I could hear perfectly fine on my last phone.Other than those two main problems, I would recommend this phone.
NOT a slimmer version of the Motorola V551
I just got the C417 two days ago to replace a Motorola V551 I had that was dying on me.
Excellent basic phone -- nice design, flawed software implementation
This is a well-designed basic phone that rivals the very popular RAZR in its slimline aesthetics at a fraction of the cost. The large (relative to the phone size) screen is bright and clear, keys are big and responsive. Reception has been excellent and sound quality crystal clear. The camera is a solid, workmanlike VGA tool that is easy to use. There is an instant messaging client (supports either Yahoo or AOL IM) and web browser, but no native email client. (You can set up the browser to access web-based email, though.)

Pretty Darn Good
Wow, I've never seen a product get so many mixed reviews.
Unbiased review from muti-phone user
This is a very good phone. I've used phones by Nokia, Motorolla, Nextel, and now Samsung.I rate my old Nokia the best because it did what it was intended -- receive and make calls. It had no other features.I had a fancy Nextel that was too big and bulky and I had a Motorolla which I really didn't like. The Samsung a900 is very good. It's one drawback (after 6 months of use) is the battery, as many have said. You have to charge every night or nearly so.The other issues people have expressed are, in my experience, unfounded -- few dropped calls (compared with others), etc. I like the feel of the phone, too.Oh, and if you're considering other services, I rate T-Mobile the best.Sprint is OK.ATT was the worst. And Nextel was just OK.
Blade!!
I absolutely love this phone, but ofcourse, I'm rather biased, seeing as how I'm using it's vibrate function for uses other than the intended.

Great phone; no complaints except for headphone plug...
This is a very nice phone and does a lot of things. It is very small and easy to carry. It's a very practical phone for most people, although it does not sync to Outlook (I don't think anyway). The nice thing about this phone is that it's a good phone, first and foremost. Good reception, decent battery life. I like all the apps it can run, like Alarm Clock, and Calculator, Voice Memos. Have not used the voice recognition yet, but I just got a BT headset for use in the car, so I think I'll start using voice with that.
Some design flaws; positive features not dicsussed here.
About the internal antenna. (This is an important point if you use the phone in areas with low signal levels.) The phone does not have a sticking-out antenna. In general, that's a bad sign: the signal reception may be worse. However, I compared the reception and signal levels to my older Motorola V66 (made in 2002) which has a sticking-out antenna, and Samsung was on par. After that, I decided not to return the phone.
Good for Samsung, Bad for you
I bought this as a follow up to the Nokia 6600 that I had for two years. It was a great phone albeit a little bulky, but it was very reliable.

This phone sucks
I do like the organizer on this phone.
All smoke and mirrors
I've had this phone for a month or two now and I'm becoming more and more disappointed with it.It looks nice and has a lot of features but it has many flaws and most of the features are just poorly designed and only there to say the phone has them.
T309
I've had my T309 for a little while now. The battery life on it is great, and the java games are pretty good to. The reception is always really good for me, but of course that will depend on where you live. The front of it is prone to scratches and i wish i had put it in a cover of some sort when i had got it. Keep the plastic that covers the front screen on it for as long as you can! The camera phone quality is not really that great, a lot of other phones have much better quality. The video feature is kinda cool, but again quality of the image is not that great. It's not a phone for you if you're going to be sending lots of images and videos. It's more for the average person who might take pics and vids once in a while. Other then that, the phone is really good. Has ample storage for your contacts and for you text messages. T-mobile also offers lots of great ringtones and they sound good on this phone, that was a big one for me as i download a new one probabaly once or twice a week.

My phone!
I bought this phone last month and it is a really good phone. It's not too fancy and not too expensive, I'd definatly get this phone if you want something less expensive that works great!
Good at start
When i first got this phone, i was really happy with it. i thought the features that came with it were great, and really worth the price. ofcourse, there comes a however: three days after i bought it, the camera has a major malfunction. everything i try to photograph (indoors/outdoors, day/night, white/black)comes out with a very annoying red tint. the pictures are all monotone. just red and white.
Get rid of "Jason" and his razr ads
OK, this isn't a review. I'm just tired of running across "Jason" and his idiotic ads for a free Razr phone. I swear, he's posted his same ad for virtually every phone out there. I wish Amazon would take down his posts.

Great mutimedia-phone, you don't have to carry MP 3 player separately anymore!
First off, I thought the phone was little bit big compared to my previous Samsung A670(verizon) phone.
Good phone, but not great for texters
I've had this phone for about 3 months, and use it along with my Sanyo (one for work, one for personal). Both are used almost equally. The Samsumg seems to have tons of features that I've not even had the chance to try out yet, and I do look forward to doing so. However, my main complaint with this phone, as I've seen other people note, is the messaging system. The T9 does not recognize the word 'me'! How can that be?? Since I use text a bunch (about 2,000 messages per month) this really bugs me. I was worried about signal strength as I've had issues with other Samsungs in the past (as compared with Sanyos) but this phone and my other seem to be comparable in this respect. Overall, I think most people would be very pleased to own this phone.
Pray it does not break
I had this phone for a month, quality was ok, but reception not the best. After 28 days, my phone started acting up. I called samsung, mailed it to them and did not get it back until 2 months later! I did have to continue paying my cell service, over $140.00 for the 2 months. Samsung said it would take 3-4 weeks, but they had to wait for a part? The manufacture had to wait for a part! I would be on hold, get transferred, etc. to find out their database is only updated about once a month with the repair status. Customer service and Warranty deserve a great big 0. This phone is not worth the extra's you'll probably never use any way.

the phone is just fine
The guy who complains about poor reception is probably having problems with t-mobile more than the phone itself.I recently moved to a new city and the reception with this phone (and t-mobile prepaid) is impeccable. But in the city where I purchased the phone it was dismal.
A basic phone, but ok to have
I've had my phone for 5 days and I hate it.At first I thought it was a cool phone to have but I was wrong.Actually i got the phone for free with a new activation.I know that Samsung has good products, but not this one. The Samsung T209 has poor reception,it does not ring loud enough, and the battery seems to go down real fast. The 2 things that I do like about the phone is that it has an external caller id and a color screen.I would not advise anyone to purchase this phone. The phone that Im looking into now is the samsung T509, the thinnest phone ever.I heard its a good phone and has the best reception also clear calls, but well see.
Basic low end phone. Few features, little excitement, but decently reliable
Samsung has a fairly reliable history as far as the quality and features of their GSM mobile phones go. I used to sell GSM phones B2B for a national GSM carrier, and I sold more Samsungs than anything else, including Motorola. Motorola people generally bought because of the design or some gadget feature. Samsung was bought because it offers a more reliable phone with better features, and a better price. Samsung has made great strides in its design process in recent years, and has once again delivered a decent lowend phone that offers a good value for the little amount of money it costs.

Great interface, but little resistance to damage.
I had this phone for a month and I loved it. It is easy to use and small. The interface is simple and can easily be understood without an instruction manual. It doesn't however have good resistance to water damage.I used the phone after a work out and the sweat from my face was enough to permanently damage the phone.
Samsung phones are "solid" racking up Vegas award shows
This phone has color so you can find it...a v good ear piece-hands free/okay speaker phone...but my fave is a window w/ date/time...day of week..hehe...for me...I love it!
Cute phone!
I just got this phone for free with my T-mobile family plan. it's a really cute phone - small, pretty and very light. it's a really basic phone with no camera, but with features you'll need (calculators, alarms, to-do list, unit conversion, etc). The ringtones that came with it is pretty nice, not too cheesy or too complicated. I also like the red color of this phone. It's different than anything else I've seen. The battery life is average. I charge the phone every three days or so, and I use it maybe an hour every day. Reception signal is also average, the same as other phones.

Samsung t319 -- not what i expected
I used to have a T309 and was told this was the exact same thing, except upgraded and better. THAT IS NOT THE CASE! The T319 doesn't capture video (something I used quite often with my old phone). It also doesn't have as many color options with it or ringtones. It lags every time I sign onto AIM. I have never been more unhappy with a new phone. If I could give this phone zero stars, I would.
Not really an upgrade over other Samsung models
I use a phone mainly for talking, T9 texting, basic camera, alarm, and phonebook.I've had 6 cell phones over 3 years mostly because I have a big problem with losing them, so I'm fairly familiar with Nokia and Samsung brands. This one replaced the Samsung e335 that I loved (but lost). As a comparison, I don't like this one as much.
