3-0 out of 5 stars It's a good and very simple phone, considering its most important puropse
If you're looking for a cell phone to play mp3, or radio, or watching videos, this one is definitely not for you.
2-0 out of 5 stars the worst phone I've ever owned
I had AT&T service for two years before Cingular bought them out. AT&T was much better-the sales techs friendly and they were willing to replace any phone that I broke.Well, Cingular bought them out and my cell phone experience has steadily gone downhill.I was one of those college students whose parents handed me a phone when I left for school-or rather my dad went out and bought me a phone after finding out that I would not be able to call home when I left for college because of the whole long distance issue. This was my first non-Nokia phone. My first Nokia was a breeze: perfect reception everywhere, even in the remotest of places. The second one was likewise, except its screen was defective and that was what brought me to getting a Cingular contract and this phone-my first Samsung.I had been informed by several friends and roommates that Samsungs have an annoying thing for breaking when they are flip phones. So I chose this one.At first, the phone was fine. And then it started to drop calls.People I called would either comment that I sounded like I was yelling when I was not, or that they could not hear me at all.At times the phone is very loud-it has to be turned down. Other times I cannot hear what anyone is saying. This phone takes longer to start up.It has a tendency to drop calls. You cannot buy a faceplate for it.It does not take abuse. It is overall a very frustrating phone, and this phone was accompanied by lackluster service. If Cingular is going to insist that you get two years use out of a phone, then, for crying out loud, the phone should last for two years. This thing is already falling apart, the battery only stays charged for a day-and I still have one year left.Horrible, horrible service.Never again.I think I will try T-Mobile when my contract runs out.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great, simple, tiny phone
After reviewing all the phones available, I went with this one and am happy with it. The Motorola's rated high, but were way too big; the LG's seemed felt flimsy and the others seemed to be a crapshoot as to whether they'd work.

5-0 out of 5 stars I like it...
This phone fits the description that Sprint has on it's website to a tee. It's compact, functional, minimalistic and user-friendly.Nice little cell for anyone who's just looking for a simple cell phone.

4-0 out of 5 stars It's Justa Cellular
This is my second Samsung cellular in four years(SPH-N300 was the first).I just got it and I am pleased with it despite all the bad ratings I have read.It is very inexpensive.I paid $19.99 and reactivated my Sprint account.Excellent for what Ibasically want to do;place and receive calls. All those other"Home Entertainment-Laptop-Cameras-Web-Games" features some folks want are found in bigger and more expensive cellulars. The Samsung A-560 is a very basic cellular designed just for communication.Nothing else.

1-0 out of 5 stars Worst phone I've ever had
I've had five different phones so far, and this is the worst. This phone is not easy to communicate with as people always tell me they can't hear me and I have trouble hearing people with it as well.My voice constantly goes out or gets faint to other people, and when I am having conversations, the phone will randomly start to echo, so that I can't understand anything. With all my previous phones, this happened rarely, versus with this phone, it is every day.

2-0 out of 5 stars A Big Disappointment
The phone looks nice. It has a good camera with awesome resolution. It has a memory of 100MB which is unprecendented for non-pda-phones. It has an MP3 player. Those give it the two stars.

3-0 out of 5 stars It's perfect if you want just the basics.
This was a pretty nice phone while it lasted. I had to trade up to a Motorola PEBL just because my x475 was getting annoying. Some of the reviews with the muffled speech I had never a problem with. But, you just can't customize it like you should be able to.
2-0 out of 5 stars An Average Buy
I bought this phone on the T-mobile website for free(web-based discount) and only paid for the shipping and handling (February '06). Reading the product summary on the phone on the T-mobile website made it sound like this fantastic over the top phone. But to me, I wasted money and should have went with a camera phone and paid more and gotten better features and enjoyment with some other phone.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not very good, connectivity very poor
You can put many pictures on the phone but there's no way to transfer them off without using Sprint Internet service. Same with Ringtone downloads and software upgrades. Can't use the bluetooth connection on the phone for much of anything useful except wireless headphone. Audio connection over bluetooth was extremely scratchy and noisy, unuseable.

1-0 out of 5 stars Didn't even last 3 weeks
This phone lasted only 3 weeks before it would no longer power on. Even before that I wasn't crazy about the phone. I didn't like the location of the speaker phone button. I was always hitting it by accident and locking the keys shouldn't be required in my mind.

3-0 out of 5 stars A few drawbacks, otherwise a good phone.
I got my A460 for several days. It looks good and feels comfortable in hand. It has all the features listed in the website. Voice call quality generally is good. I can hear the other party clearly and other peoples have no complains about my voice. The speakerphone works nice in quiet environment. In noise environment or if both party speak simutaniously echobuilds up occasionally , but it's OK most of the time.

4-0 out of 5 stars Elegant
This phone, despite all its problems, is by far my favorite cell phone ever. No, it doesn't have a camera. Yes, I too had trouble with the screen dying after 2 years (just as I was switching services, fortunately). So I wouldn't go buying one used.
4-0 out of 5 stars If your display dies...
Very common for the display screens (internal and external) on these phone to die after a year or two. Mine died after 2.5 years...BUT, I went into the LA Sprint Phone Store and they said, "this is a known problem" and replaced it on the spot for free with another one (factory reconditioned) and transferred the phone book entries. I did NOT have an extended contract. Pretty cool.

5-0 out of 5 stars Well rounded, durable phone with some nice features
I was a little discouraged about getting this phone after reading some reviews, but I have had it for about 10 months now and can't be happier. I've had 4 different cell phones in my life and this one has been the best one so far. Two have been Samsung and I think they're one of the best cell phone makers. (Nokia is a horrible brand, I don't recommend Nokias.) This is a good quality phone that has outlasted a few falls and a quick fall into a sink with the water running. It takes pretty good pictures as far as I'm concerened. One thing about the camera part of the phone is that after taking a picture it comes out a little further away than it looked before you took it, but that is something you can get used to. I rarely have reception problems. The speaker phone works great. The only thing some people might not like is having to confirm turning the speaker phone on, but it's something you can get used to as well and it isn't a big deal. I really love this phone. It's a simple, durable, well rounded phone with some nice features. My whole family has this exact same phone and none of us has had any problems so far. We've all dropped the phone plenty of times with no problems whatsoever. The phone also has good battery life. I can go 2 or 3 days without recharging it. I highly recommend this phone or any Samsung phones.

1-0 out of 5 stars Nice Looking but Poor Reception
Great looking phone, very small and lightweight.Unfortunately, the antaenna doesn't cut it.I get no reception in places where everybody else has reception, and in places where there is interference, the phone drops calls regularly. For example, I can't talk with the hands-free adapter and have the phone in my pocket.I also can't talk whilst using my laptop, probably because of interference from the laptop's wireless internet connexion. This is an older phone, so I guess this problem is down to phone manufacturers' inexperience with making internal antaenna phones.I understand newer ones (e.g., the Pebl) are better.
4-0 out of 5 stars No frills phone works great as a cell phone
The Samsung E335 is a great little cell phone. It has one of the easiest interfaces to learn and is very easy to use.It is small enough to fit in most pant pockets and stylish enough with today's trends. It is pretty sturdy and seems well made.

3-0 out of 5 stars Ehhhh it's OK
The phone is a basic stripped cell. Great screen color and easy usability. The coverage was not as good as my husband's nokia (cingular) or his nextel. I felt like I was deaf. since i couldn't hear unless I was in complete silence. A fine generic phone withh average features.

3-0 out of 5 stars Okay phone really bad service
This is an okay phone if you don't want a fancy flip phone or you have never had a cell phone. It is easy to use, compact and light. There is a dark side to all this. The phone is fragile. It doesn't take to being dropped very well. The ringtones are stupid and not very loud. If you would like to download ringtones that can run you from $2.49 to $2.99. At T-Mobile I can get them for a dollar less. The reception for Cingular is truly pathetic. I couldn't get reception anywhere and that bothered me. I was dropping calls all the time.

4-0 out of 5 stars Works for me!
Honestly I don't know what everyone is complaing about, the phone works great for me! Maybe I got lucky, not sure, but I have no complaints. The reception isnt the best, but again I live in the mountains and thats normal for us with any phone or carrier. I havent had any dropped calls, ever, the battery is strong, it surfs the web fine, stores my numbers. This phone is excellent for me because all I need is a phone and text messaging. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Stay Away From x495
The Samsung x495 looks sleek and cool but doesn't really meet my basic expectations. I used to have a Kyocera on Verizon's service and switched because I wanted something a little more affordable.Choosing this phone/Tmobile was a big mistake.I'm paying less but I get a fraction of the quality.
3-0 out of 5 stars Don't Waste Your Money
This is the second Samsung x495 that I've owned. The messenger service quit working on the first one I had. When going to use the messenger feature, the phone would shut off on it's own & turn back on by itself. Luckily it was just days before the store warranty was to expire so I took it back & exchanged it for another of the same model. Well the store I purchased & returned it to only had three models to choose from, the Nokia 6010 and the newer Nokia which cost more than I could afford. So I exchanged it for a new Samsung x495 and this one is having problems as well. I just got it a couple days ago. The phone shuts off on it's own which is not a good thing because I use the alarm feature to wake me up. The messenger service on both of these phones is poor. When I type a message, the screen freezes. It does have poor reception, even when trying to send a text message. Alot of times the texts will fail to go through and if your using the T-Mobile to go service like I am, you still get charged 10 cents whether or not the text actually goes through or not. It costs 10 cents just to log into messenger and even more if you are able to send messages without the screen freezing up on you. The games, the wallpaper and the ringtones that are already on this phone when you purchase it are really bad. I do have to say that the phone looks really nice but that's the only good thing about it. Now I'm going to have to take this phone back and I'm going to get my money back this time and try to find something better. This phone is a complete waste of money. T-mobile support isn't the greatest either. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent but for one drawback...
I have had this phone for 11 months and it was my first cell phone purchase. Now I am renewing my contract and upgrading my phone. I would not be upgrading my phone if it wasn't for the simple fact that:
5-0 out of 5 stars Nice...
This was my first cell phone...and I love it! It's a very cute and compact cell phone! I also love the mini display in the front. I have gotten 3 new cell phones, and all of them have been this one. I just love it!!

4-0 out of 5 stars I like my e317
I have had the Samsung e317 flip phone for about eight months now. Its capabilitiesinclude Text Messaging, Multimedia Messaging, Ring tones, Games, and Photos. This phone has a screen on the front which can be set to show photo caller ID (which I really enjoy). It is small and compact, and have a exceptionally good camera providing you are not taking far away photos (but I have found this to be the case with all picture phones). The only complaint I have about the design of this phone it that the photo button is on the outside of the phone...thus I have about 43 pictures of the blackness inside my purse. The battery hold its charge exceptionally well. Truthfully, I don't use my phone all that much during the day, but it is always on -- and I rarely have to charge it. The e317 gets the best reception of any flip phone I have owned. Overall I would highly recommend this phone if you are in the market for a descent flip phone with a few extra "bells and whistles", but are no interested in spending a lot. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice PDA/phone, small package
I'm very happy with this PDA phone.I have ditched my PDA, and use this entirely. The mini-keyboard was a problem, so I bought a keyboard which gives mea full QWERTY keyboard for email.I use some basic web, yellowpages, mapquest, etc.No problem there.I added 1 GB of SDRAM and now synch up important docs before travelling.I wanted a small form-factor PDA phone, and I have it.I am always on call, and wanted the phone which rang during emergencies to be useful for email, outlook integration, and access to important documents, and I have that.Setting it up to work with exchange over the web was a breeze. The batteries do burn out quick, 1 year later I need a new extended life battery.

2-0 out of 5 stars what's the point of this phone if I can't get it to sync?!
I have two charger/USB cradles for my phone (1 at home and 1 at work) but I have so many problems with both cradles trying to get this phone to sync!I have to repeatedly put it in the cradle, hoping that it will be recognized by the computer.Frequently, I get the message "USB device not recognized."Then, only about half of the time that it's recognized by the computer is it able to sync.I get errors or it disconnects before fulling syncing.I wish I hadn't spent so much money on this phone.

2-0 out of 5 stars waste of money
The web service is terrible; it's unusable it's so slow.It isn't worth getting a phone this big and heavy for.The bigger battery fails after a year, no ifs, ands, or buts. The smaller battery doesn't even last a year.I paid extra for the Yahoo POP mail service ($20 year, not bad at all) but it's hard to read your mail on the screen. There is very little search support for games and ring tones. Once you manage to find a tone you want (good luck with that), the easiest way is to download them from the web on your PC, and then hook up your phone to your PC and transfer them, unless you want it to take forever. As a phone, it works well, and gets a good signal, but it's not worth the $500 I paid for it only a year and a half ago.I was an idiot when I bought this phone. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Bulky, poorly designed nuisance gadget
I have had this phone now for a couple of years and it is definately a love/hate relationship. LOVE: Phone/PDA/internet browser in one. HATE: User interface, buttons that stick out causing them to be pressed inadvertantly (I will be walking along and hear dialtones or my wife saying "hello? hello?" because the dial button has been bumped in my pocket), and embarassingly large size. I paid $800 a few years ago and I am GLAD it's cheaper now. I look forward to when it dies so I can get a smaller phone.

2-0 out of 5 stars lots of problems
the i 700 loses data and phone numbers for no apparent reason.i have 3 times put in numbers and then lost them.it is diffiuclt to connect to the internet.it is difficult to hold the phone without pushing one of the the buttons on the side.the biggest positive is that the screen is easy to read.

4-0 out of 5 stars After 1 year use as PDA and a phone
I am a web designer, and work got me an i700 a year ago so I can test small-form screen design. Despite considering myself a 'techie', I held getting a cell phone so this was my first. I used this 50-50 as a PDA and a phone.

1-0 out of 5 stars This phone sucks
The only good thing about the phone is it has get it now, it freezes all the time and you can never hear the ring even when it on the highest volume. bottom line- don't get the phone because is breaks very easily.

4-0 out of 5 stars I LOVE THIS PHONE!!!
This phone is so great! I got this phone when I was in the 8th grade and now I'm going to be Junior in High School and it's been such a great phone! It's small and pretty sleek and is very trend setting (especially for us girls). Who would have thought a gold colored phone would be that popular? When I first bought the phone, a gold colored phone was pretty different, but I've received so many compliments about my phone, especially now that I've jazzed it up a bit with Rhinestones. The smooth and simple surface makes it easy to personalize this phone!
5-0 out of 5 stars very nice phone
I've had this for nearly 2 years and it has worked great for me. nice small size. it is difficult to see display when not backlit. i changed the preferences to leave it backlit while in use and have not seen very much drain on the battery, but the phone does get pretty warm.the only major problem i did have was with the speaker and verizon replaced the phone...no problems since. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars It breaks repeatedly!
I liked the phone when I first got it a year and a half ago.I thought it was cool that the fliptop swivels. However, after about a year, the fliptop started to get loose and wobbly and eventually my screen went black and I couldn't receive and place calls. Thankfully, I am under warranty so the phone was replaced. The second phone I had for 2 months and then had to get replaced because I kept getting no service in places where I had great service with my 1st phone. So, I got a third phone. The third phone is threatening to break. I've had it for a week and the flip top that I don't ever turn for fear it will break like the first one, is already loose and wobbly.
3-0 out of 5 stars not so great.
Ive read comments about bad service being the provider not the phone but i had really awesome service and reception before i got this phone. I rarely had dropped calls and cd get service places where no one else cd. now that i have this phone im lucky if i can make a call in my own apartment without the phone hanging up. Maybe Verizon has gotten worse? maybe its the phone?
5-0 out of 5 stars love's it
I'd like to start off with the first review states this is just another camera phone> i have had so many people tell me this camera talkes great pictures.i think there better than most camera phones out there. they are so clear on my phone. 2nd i've never had one problem with this phone at all. always 5 bars unless in a warehouse where i get 2 or 3 bars. i do agree that i would of been a nice feature to have caller id on the front of the phone. Also there is no problem with sending pic messages easy just read directions if cant figure it out on your own. i did call verizon on why some people cant get my pics. they said only verizon and cingular people can see them because we use the same frequency. one other great feature you can send a voice memo with any picture you send. all in all i love this phone and wouldnt hesitate recomending it to anyone ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Love It !!!!!!
This wonderful compact phone was my first. I have droped this thing so many times and it still works as if I just took it out of the box 2 years ago. So my contract is almost up so that means i have to get a new phone, yah it will be hard to part with it i might have to save it and put it one display ( i know it sounds wierd but that is just me i save things like that for memories).

5-0 out of 5 stars Fine Phone
I drive trucks cross-country on rigid time schedules. The Samsung A650 with its tri-mode of operation leaves very few dead zones where I am unable to call out or receive a call. That's important in case I need service (eg. blowout, no-start) or am delayed by weather or an accident.

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Phone
I have used this phone for 2 years, every day, and have never had a single problem with its performance. (No instances of dropped calls, poor reception, or lack of service). Never once has it been powered off from the day I purchased it, and nothing has had to be replaced. Excellent, excellent phone. It now rests in its original box, should I ever need to call upon it again. ... Read more
