1-0 out of 5 stars Tracfone technical support is a joke
I never got to use the phone because I could not set the voicemail up. The instructions on the web site did not work so I called their "technical" support. It was clear from the start they are using outsourced staff who have no knowledge of the product and a less-than-adequate command of the English language. I spoke to 4 different people, each of whom put me on hold repeatedly as they tried in vain to find someone else in the call center who knew how to address the problem. I spent an entire day calling them (I was repeatedly told we need to reset something call back in 4 hours...). One person told me my local (Seattle)carrier had no email or phone number and they had to write them a note about my problem and Fed ex it to them!! I asked repeatedly if there was another level of technical support I could be escalated to and was told no. The last person I spoke to told me after a half hour on the phone with her that my brand new Nokia phone required voicemail to be set up AND RETRIEVED BY A LANDLINE ONLY!!! I could not believe this was correct but it was clear there was no one there who had a clue about how to fix what should have been an extemely simple problem. I find it insulting that a company would ask for my money and loyalty and provide this type of "support" in return. I want nothing to do with Tracfone, and have heard Net10 is also owned by them. If you care about customer service stay far away from these providers.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great secondary device and service
I had a relative visiting from abroad and wanted to provide them with a temporary phone. Tracfone serves well under these situation. I wouldn't boast of its reception ability but will say with confidence that it performs sufficiently well as a side phone. This is a good service if you barely use your phone or desire to be contract free.
1-0 out of 5 stars Service was way too expensive
I got this Tracfone as a gift, and it's an OK phone, but the service was very expensive.I did about 100 minutes of calling a month and was spending about $35.I ended up going to Virgin Mobile and got a great little plan that had tons of minutes for the same $35 ($34.99 for 300 anytime minutes and 1000 Night and Weekend minutes).Plus, my Virgin Mobile phone was much better. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Long Term Reliability
Bought this phone model back in December '05.Had to return it after a couple of days because it would turn itself off several times a day.But since then, it has turned out to be a most reliable and useable phone.
4-0 out of 5 stars Good enough
Got this phone when it as -$50 with 1 year verizon contract, so far so good.
3-0 out of 5 stars Poor service from Verizon
Verizon has had a lot of trouble porting the number from the old phone to this new one. Worked hours on phone with tech support to no avail. They still can't get the new one working and now the old one doesn't work because the number was porting. Very incompetent technical staff. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Save Your Money
While the phone itself performs well, the blackberry sync to other internet accounts does not. I have had three phones with the same problem.
4-0 out of 5 stars Very good, very big, very fragile
I was looking for replacement for my Nokia 6820.This phone was an option from the day one but I waited to get it when the price fell on "free".
5-0 out of 5 stars Great, but quirky
This is a great but quirky phone. I need a cell phone, not a PDA with a hole on the top where your ear is supposed to somehow fit, and a hole on the bottom that picks up noise better than your voice.

4-0 out of 5 stars Easy to understand but I had a problem
I got this phone and it was easy for me to figure it out even though I've never had a flip phone. I went through the book and got everything set up.This said, my phone would only light up when someone called. I went in and reset all my tones. Finally I called Cingular and they had me call Nokia. Nokia said that there was something wrong with the Normal setting, it's where you can set it for normal, outdoors, meetings etc. I could either set it to outdoors and have the ringer turned down or return it or call Cingular and tell them what Nokia told me. I called Cingular and they had me ship it back and sent me a replacement. I liked everything about this phone except that it didn't ring or vibrate unless it was set to outdoors.

3-0 out of 5 stars A good phone...nothing less, nothing more.
This new phone which I bought through Cingular at a discount is good, but not great. The ONE thing I really don't like about this phone is the volume.I can barely hear someone on the other end.Even after turning the volume all the way up and turning the noise detection program on and off...still nothing. My Nokia 6010 was much better. The camera is okay, nothing great.Turning this thing on and off takes forever....much slower than my other Nokia, which was 3 years old.Yes, it has a radio, BUT you have to BUY a headset to be able to listen....rip off!

1-0 out of 5 stars Unimpressed
This phone is built of cheap shoddy materials. The center keypad is very tiny and difficult to use without hitting other buttons.

2-0 out of 5 stars Ringtones? Keypads?
Everyone seems like this phone but this phone doesn't fit for everyone's size. The phone is great for its small size but I have problems with keypads due to tiny size and awkward position and has its very limited capacities plus ringtones. It would not let me use its silent mode without making a sound when i set it for vibrate mode. I find it very dissappointing design and manipulating cost-effective prohibitiveness to the usefullness of messaging and web-browsing.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very good basic phone
There is a lot to like about this little plain phone. It gives great reception and excellent sound quality.Easy to use.Cheap.Its a good phone.Easy to slip into a pocket.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not a particularly good phone for just making phone calls
I'm pretty disappointed in this phone. It's got poor battery life, and a complicated and buggy interface. It's also very large and bulky. Beyond that, the thing that annoys me most is that there doesn't seem to be any way to have it lock the keypad automatically after some idle period. The end result of that is that I forget to manually lock the keypad and it sits there beeping quietly in my pocket until the battery runs out or it calls a random person from my address book.
5-0 out of 5 stars My new freedom.....
This phone is stellar. Look around. All you see are RAZRs. RAZRs everywhere.
5-0 out of 5 stars NOKIA rocks!!
I've owned a couple MOTOROLAbefore and have to admit they do have cool-looking phones. They look so fashionable, stylish, and making you feel young. But...the only thing I hate is they dropped my calls a lot. I mean...A LOT! My calls would be just disconnected unreasonable when I only talked on my phone about 10-15mins. Sometimes even 5 mins!

4-0 out of 5 stars Can't find anything better than a Nokia...
I have had 4 Nokia phones in the past and was looking for an upgrade on my 6010 that I've had for the last 3 years and was determined on getting something other than a Nokia this time around. After doing research on other phones, like Samsung and Motorola, I eventually bought another Nokia. I came pretty close to getting the Motorola RAZR, but the many negative reviews that I read combined with my brother-in-law saying that he would stay away from anything Motorola made me think twice about it. I have now had my 6103 for almost a month and I am happy with it. I haven't had any problems yet, such as scratching and breaking or any peeling of the rubber that other reviewers have mentioned. I have never had a flip phone before so durability was a concern. So far the only thing I have noticed is that the flip seems to get a little looser over time, likely from normal wear and tear.
5-0 out of 5 stars Another really good Nokia phone, as expected.
I think Nokia makes great phones, very reliable and durable. My last phone was a Nokia 6610 that I had for 2.5 years! While my friends with Motorolas and Samsungs had to shell out another $200 every year because their phones would break..... If you've had a Nokia before, the menus/features are similar pretty much. This one has a few extras: camera/video and Bluetooth. Had the phone for 2 weeks. Here's what I've observed thus far:
3-0 out of 5 stars it's okay but several negatives
Overall the phone is pretty good most of the time, the picture quality is fine and I love that feature, but I'm disappointed about the following:the outside material is peeling off (have only had it a few months, and I take good care of it) as other buyers have mentioned. When I want the ringer set to "silent", I have to go thru several steps rather than just one click as other phones can do.I also wish the back-light would stay on longer.I've had some dropped calls, especially when dialing. It wasn't easy finding a car charger for it, until I found out it can use the same one as for model 6102.Now I'm trying to find a case or cover to prevent the outside material from peeling more... ... 1-0 out of 5 stars don't do it
After I received my phone etc. I never had service. Many, many phone calls later with no help and no service I finally contacted the Florida Better Busness Bureau and got some help, or so I thought.Tracfone called me and had me send back the phone the card etc. and said it would refund my money. The received it July 1st (it was tracked) and I have yet to hear from them.Stay away.

3-0 out of 5 stars GREAT phone, GREAT service, BUT BEWARE THE TERMS
I am quite satisfied with the function of the TracFone we bought, and the service coverage is pretty good.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice Phone!
I've had this phone for about 3 days now. I got it to replace my old Samsung A530. Here are my thoughts:
3-0 out of 5 stars Agree with previous review re: software, possible way to get around it
Have had this phone for 36 hours (9/25/06)and am being told by Verizon I have to delete all 150+ of my stored numbers and start from scratch (I had an LG 7000 series which I never liked).Seems there is a software issue and there is no data on when it will be resolved. Phone makes a call from phone book but does not complete the call when your intended answers the phone.Speakerphone calling seems to negate this defect and if you press the speaker button when the person answers, it seems to work.Pressing it twice did get the phone to work but not the headset.Blue tooth headset (Moto H500)paired easily only it did'nt work through the speaker option I may have discovered. Looks like a nice phone, light, easy to use but decision is, is this worth the extra steps, reliable enough to function normally and then left to guess when the software fix is available and just "stop-in to Verizon"? Surely they aren't going to tell me when it's ready. Probably worth it to wait to buy this phone or choose another if you have tons of numbers to enter.Verizon should have known this, but I'm sure it's a great first time phone or if you don't have lots of numbers to transfer over.

3-0 out of 5 stars Flip (or not flip) for Nokia Flip
Well I decided that I liked the Nokia brand well enough to try their flip phone. However word has it this is not a true Nokia phone but Pan-tech.I haven't received it yet but my research shows that you also can NOT use the PC Suite software Nokia has for most of their phones.Aaargh.I do not want to re-enter all my phone numbers. Most likely this is because the phone is a Pan-tech.I likely won't keep it because of that but will update to let you know if it seems flimsy or not.

1-0 out of 5 stars print out your own rebate when you purchased
I purchased this phone on Amazon on Sep and saw $30 rebate when I purchased. After I got it, there is no any information on rebate and customer service said there is no rebate. It's very bad that I didn't print out the rebate form when I purchased. So I paid $67 for such a simple phone. So suggestions here is that print out the rebate form when you purchased and don't rely on the sellers for it. Hopefully this could be helpful

4-0 out of 5 stars Almost Perfect
This is my first cell phone. I avoided buying a cell phone for years. I find them (and the people who use them constantly) annoying. They seem to be used mostly as a distraction (probably because people are trying to use up their monthly minutes), though there is the occasional clueless individual that hasn't realized that every one has a cell phone now & that they're no longer a status symbol (but still has to make everyone around him aware that he's using one). To add to that, I've heard nothing but complaints (customer service, charges, reception) from everyone about their carrier (no matter who their carrier is). Because I need a land line for my DSL service, even a $29.99/mo. plan for a cell phone is too much for something I will only use occassionally. However, the number of occasions where I absolutely needed one has been growing. So I actually started to comparison shop, with the idea that I might buy one when the monthly charge comes down. Verizon seemed to get the best reception/customer service reviews, though they were also the most expensive. T-Mobile usually came in second. So, I happened to be looking in my Target circular one week, when I saw this phone was being given out free if you bought a $100 (1000 minutes) card (sale has expired, but maybe it'll be repeated?). So I ran to my store & am glad I did. This is definitely the best way to test if you would like a cell phone before deciding on a particular plan.
3-0 out of 5 stars VERY basic, inexpensive, great reception.Good sound quality.
The first thing I noticed about the phone was how thin and cheap the plastic is/feels.If I drop this phone I am fairly certain that it will crack on impact.Booooo!

5-0 out of 5 stars Doesn't anyone use a phone JUST for a phone?
I bought this phone and a prepaid plan to replace years of monthly service with Cingular.I've not had any problems with this phone/plan as I had with Cingular, i.e.hearing, connecting, dropped calls.Maybe it was the phone, as Cingular claims.I don't use, need or want texting, IM, e:mail and whatever else this phone may feature because I just want to make or receive a normal phone call.My daughter loves the camera and downloading ringtones but they are not requirements for me. I have not had any problems with memory loss or not enough memory with this phone and have no idea why a phone needs so much memory.I don't know or care to have 500 names in a phone book.I don't live on the phone, it's not permanently attached to my head and I don't live for my phone. In my opinion prepaids are by far less expensive than monthly plans. For $100 a year, I'm just wondering how I am going to use 1000 minutes!

2-0 out of 5 stars Great while it works
I have a love/hate relationship with this phone:

5-0 out of 5 stars A great phone and e-mail me for 120 free minutes
Nokia phones are among the easiest to use. They only have the essential features and not a bunch of extra stuff you don't need. The prepaid aspect is great because you will not receive any bills in the mail.Tracfone has a special where if you e-mail me either before or shortly after activating your phone, we both get 120 free minutes.Just e-mail me at kac588@gmail.com and I'll tell you exactly what to do.

5-0 out of 5 stars Tracfone.

5-0 out of 5 stars Nokia # 1, as usual
Words won't describe how great, reliable, hardworking the 6610 is, and as usuall it have Nokia's reputation and quality. I'm a Mobile Phone abuser - in rain, in sand even on beach, my 6610 was all happy to serve me, sometimes I had to give it a break, but it just turn around and ask me for some more, and here she is after 3 years of service all over the world, from London to Frankfurt she even visted the pyramids in Cairo and made it back to the US and it is still my best friend, can't go anywhere without her.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awkward design, but EXTREMELY durable
I've had my Nokia 3595 phone for about four years now.During that time, I've dropped it while walking about a thousand times, have had it run over by a car once, dropped it in water and paint a few times, etc., and the phone is good as new. It's a great starter phone...I'm kind of technologically awkward, so I'm still using it.Very easy to use and virtually indestructible.
4-0 out of 5 stars Indestructible
What this phone is really all about is not so much looks but actually reliability and function. This phone has just about everything that a good phone needs. The only real let down that i could manage to think of is that there is no camera. Also, that it's not exactly the sleekest looking phone.Putting aside these minor negatives however, I have to mention the fact that this phone is truly indestructible.I have literally dropped my phone from a balcony two stories up onto a solid paved surface. When I retrieved my phone there were a few marks here and there, but otherwise it was still good as new. This is one of my many experiences of me dropping this brick-like electronic. The thing is seriously the most durable phone that I have ever known. How many phones can be dropped repeatedly like this and still function flawlessly? (Not many)When purchasing this phone, be prepared that you will probably have it for a very long time because it will take a lot to have to replace this thing.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Phone I've Owned.
The best phone I have ever owned was the Nokia 3595. Colored screen, text messaging capabilities, charming ringers, and a very interesting keypad made it more than your average phone. Many people fail to consider the Nokia 3595 right away because it is not a flip phone; however, it does include a key guard, which prevents random calls when put in your pocket or purse.Compared to my new Motorola i830, through Nextel, the 3595 is simple to use and provides a longer lasting battery. One nice characteristic of the 3595 is the on screen display of instructions for each menu option. The 3595 is a great choice for new mobile phone users because it is less expensive, durable, and easy to operate. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars good simple phone
I've had this phone for almost 2 years now and have been very pleased. The only problem I've had in 2 years is the front faceplate is beginning to come off.Other than that this phone has been great.I get excellent reception and the battery is still working great. This phone doesn't have many extra features, but if all you need the phone for is talking then this would be an excellent buy.

2-0 out of 5 stars Nothing but problems
My husband and I each got a Nokia 3585 last year. We have had nothing but problems with these phones for the past 6 months. Each phone has been sent for service (twice!) for failing to turn on even though the battery had a full charge. Now, the display screen of one of the phones occasionally fails to illuminate, making the screen very difficult to see. I think these phones are very poor quality and are not made to last. You would do better to invest a little more money in a better quality phone.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good basic reliable phone
I've had this phone for 2.5 years now, and it's been great. Always reliable but very basic when it comes to features (except for the AOL IM). The only bad thing about it is that the faceplates can be hard to remove. Other than that, it's a good basic reliable phone for people who just want something simple.

5-0 out of 5 stars THE BEST
I remember when this phne first came out with VoiceStream Wireless. Jamie Lee Curtis, family plans, the girl at the party wth the phone on her hip and her dad constantly watching her thru mobile-to-mobile calling. Everyone I knew had this phone. With AOL IM. I also had the 3360 from AT&T... both, since they are very similar are, in my opinion, the best phones EVER. Despite their absence of color, cameras, etc... They had excellent talk quality, excellent battery life, and could be kicked around and beat up, and still work... My 3390 and 3360 had a standby time of 5-7 days, I dropped my 3360 several times, left it in the rain, and my 3390, I left it in my pants pocket in the washer and it still worked 100%. I liked the 3595 with T-mobile b/c it was kind of like an update to the 3360/3390, but I didn't like t-mobiles service. In my opinion, If I could, I'd definitely go back and use this phone. And sometimes, I stilll do. I now have a motorola RAZR V3, but I had my 3390 unlocked so I could use it on cingular....

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Reliable
This si a very reliable phone and it has never failed me. The ony problem is that it is a bit old now and out of date. The only problem i did realize is that the buttons are a bit small, but that may be just because i have big fingers. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Def not best, but not worst
I had the Samsung A600 for awhile which is absolute doo doo.You can read my review on it and detect my rage at the stupid thing. It finally died on me so I used this Nokia phone I bought in a garage sale for $1.I wonder y she sold it so cheap?...
4-0 out of 5 stars Worked great for me
Hello, I have this phone and used it until I decided to buy a flip phone. I have had NO problems with the battery or new cases--it has a new fish case on it now and it stays as well as the original one. I have added ring tones, and music so it was all good for me--as a matter of fact I am willing to sell this phone, the home charger and the car charger for a great deal--email me--(...)

1-0 out of 5 stars PCS Nokia Crap
