1-0 out of 5 stars Don't bother
This is a real bummer because this phone has the features I wanted but there really is some sort of issue with the battery.Mine would only last 24-30 hours although the box says 200+ hours of standby.I'm on my second phone with the same problem and will be returning it today to get something else entirely. I've talked to both Kyocera and Virgin Mobile about it but no one wants to acknowledge there is a problem.Virgin Mobile customer service has ranged from outright rude to pleasant but unable to solve the problem.
1-0 out of 5 stars Terrible phone!
We excitedly bought the Oystr phone for my teenager in late July, activated it, charged it, etc.It never held a charge for more than 36 hours. We tried a charger from her sister's Kyocera (different model) phone.Still no charge.Returned it to Target, and exchanged battery for another Oystr battery.Still no charge. Finally returned Oystr phone with replacement battery to Target and exchanged for another Oystr phone.Again, tried to charge 3 times using the 3 Kyocera chargers we now own.THIS PHONE WON'T HOLD A CHARGE MORE THAN 24 HOURS!!!I got on the internet and found that LOTS of people are experiencing the same thing with the Oystr phone. It's obviously NOT the battery, NOT the charger...IT'S THE PHONE!

2-0 out of 5 stars got batteries?
overall a decent little phone for if you just need something for basic use.the quick-key funtioning is awkward and not intuitive if you're used to say, a nokia, but you get used to it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great mutimedia-phone, you don't have to carry MP 3 player separately anymore!
First off, I thought the phone was little bit big compared to my previous Samsung A670(verizon) phone.
3-0 out of 5 stars Good phone, but not great for texters
I've had this phone for about 3 months, and use it along with my Sanyo (one for work, one for personal). Both are used almost equally. The Samsumg seems to have tons of features that I've not even had the chance to try out yet, and I do look forward to doing so. However, my main complaint with this phone, as I've seen other people note, is the messaging system. The T9 does not recognize the word 'me'! How can that be?? Since I use text a bunch (about 2,000 messages per month) this really bugs me. I was worried about signal strength as I've had issues with other Samsungs in the past (as compared with Sanyos) but this phone and my other seem to be comparable in this respect. Overall, I think most people would be very pleased to own this phone.

1-0 out of 5 stars Pray it does not break
I had this phone for a month, quality was ok, but reception not the best. After 28 days, my phone started acting up. I called samsung, mailed it to them and did not get it back until 2 months later! I did have to continue paying my cell service, over $140.00 for the 2 months. Samsung said it would take 3-4 weeks, but they had to wait for a part? The manufacture had to wait for a part! I would be on hold, get transferred, etc. to find out their database is only updated about once a month with the repair status. Customer service and Warranty deserve a great big 0. This phone is not worth the extra's you'll probably never use any way. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars the phone is just fine
The guy who complains about poor reception is probably having problems with t-mobile more than the phone itself.I recently moved to a new city and the reception with this phone (and t-mobile prepaid) is impeccable. But in the city where I purchased the phone it was dismal.
2-0 out of 5 stars A basic phone, but ok to have
I've had my phone for 5 days and I hate it.At first I thought it was a cool phone to have but I was wrong.Actually i got the phone for free with a new activation.I know that Samsung has good products, but not this one. The Samsung T209 has poor reception,it does not ring loud enough, and the battery seems to go down real fast. The 2 things that I do like about the phone is that it has an external caller id and a color screen.I would not advise anyone to purchase this phone. The phone that Im looking into now is the samsung T509, the thinnest phone ever.I heard its a good phone and has the best reception also clear calls, but well see.

3-0 out of 5 stars Basic low end phone. Few features, little excitement, but decently reliable
Samsung has a fairly reliable history as far as the quality and features of their GSM mobile phones go. I used to sell GSM phones B2B for a national GSM carrier, and I sold more Samsungs than anything else, including Motorola. Motorola people generally bought because of the design or some gadget feature. Samsung was bought because it offers a more reliable phone with better features, and a better price. Samsung has made great strides in its design process in recent years, and has once again delivered a decent lowend phone that offers a good value for the little amount of money it costs.

2-0 out of 5 stars Seems rather problematic
Ok... first allow me to explain my situation.I just signed up for Nextel services 3 days ago and recieved my new phone the day after I signed up.At first everything was fine with it or so it seemed, it didn't pick up reception in my home but living in a generally rural area I thought that it was excuseable. When I talked to people on my phone my indicator said that I was recieving a full signal but they were having a hard time understanding what I was trying to say, it was as if it would only transfer half of what I was saying, rather frustrating to say the least. The next day, after reading the user reviews (should have done that before I bought the phone!!) I called Nextel to see if it was a problem with the phone. They instructed me to preform what is called a 3 finger test with this model while I was on a land line.Basically you hold down any 3 consecutive numbers while the phone is off and power it back on still holding down the numbers. It will take you to a diagnostics of sorts and the phone will test all of it's systems.I found out through that that the phone is truly faulty and am having a replacement sent this week.Unfortunately, since I had used the phone for over 30 minutes I couldn't get a different model, which I thought a little stupid since it's hard to discover a problem with your phone if you hadn't used it much. I have reserved hope that the new one will be better considering all the problems others have had with this phone later on down the road, mine had only been active for a day.

1-0 out of 5 stars Stay away from this phone...
After 5 months, I could no longer connect to the Nextel service. Everything else on the phone worked. I called tech support and was told the problem was with the phone and I should take it in for service. The service center said the phone could not be repaired. I paid $179 for this piece of junk. This is the first and LAST Motorola product I'll ever buy. I've owned 4 other brands of cell phones and never had a problem with any of them.

1-0 out of 5 stars ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE
Before even having this phone for a year the outside of my flip went out and will no longer display the time or date,. The phone will power off whenever it feels like (including during calls), and sometimes will not turn on for up to 15 minutes regardless of if it has full battery life or not. At times when I am charging it, it will tell me I have an invalid battery, though the battery I am using is one that came with the phone originally. It also will register having an invalid charger on every one of the three Nextel chargers I have. When I contacted Motorola, I was told I would have to pay $50 dollars for pick up to send it in and be repaired and have the shutting off problem fixed, despite the fact that it is still under warranty. They also told me it would be an additional $170 dollars to fix my flip. I don't know why these problems have happened. I haven't even so much as dropped the phone. It has been very well taken care of, it is fairly expensive, and for some odd reason it couldn't even hold up for a year. All and all this phone has given me headaches everyday for the past few months and there is no way I will ever purchase a Motorola phone again. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Best phone ever!
I tend to be abusive to my cell phones and I must say that this Sanyo 8100 has seen the worst. It has been dropped in the mud, skidded across asphalt parking lots I don't know how many times, been subjected to rain.....you get the idea.I was at film school when I first purchased it and it is still wokring great 3 years later.I did buy an additional battiery up front, so they have been swapped on and off as I needed more talk time. The screen is still bright and clear, I love being able to set ringtones for certain callers, and I won't ever get another phone that doesn't have the photo caller ID on the outside. This is great because I can just glance at a photo and see who's calling.
5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Phone
Excellent Phone - Sprint tried to get me to get a new phone but this one was awesome. I loved that little phone, too bad Sprint was getting too costly for my mobile needs.
5-0 out of 5 stars Solid Phone
I have had this phone for almost two years and it has now broken in half. This has been the best phone by far I have ever owned. I have dropped it a bizzilion times and all the features still worked. It has falling off a moving car, fell in my pool, been thrown into a moving car..Nice tough phone.. Now I have to find a replacement... Ugh....I hope I can find another phone that can with stand the abuse and recklessness of the 8100. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Great interface, but little resistance to damage.
I had this phone for a month and I loved it. It is easy to use and small. The interface is simple and can easily be understood without an instruction manual. It doesn't however have good resistance to water damage.I used the phone after a work out and the sweat from my face was enough to permanently damage the phone.

5-0 out of 5 stars Samsung phones are "solid" racking up Vegas award shows
This phone has color so you can find it...a v good ear piece-hands free/okay speaker phone...but my fave is a window w/ date/time...day of week..hehe...for me...I love it!
5-0 out of 5 stars Cute phone!
I just got this phone for free with my T-mobile family plan. it's a really cute phone - small, pretty and very light. it's a really basic phone with no camera, but with features you'll need (calculators, alarms, to-do list, unit conversion, etc). The ringtones that came with it is pretty nice, not too cheesy or too complicated. I also like the red color of this phone. It's different than anything else I've seen. The battery life is average. I charge the phone every three days or so, and I use it maybe an hour every day. Reception signal is also average, the same as other phones.

1-0 out of 5 stars Samsung t319 -- not what i expected
I used to have a T309 and was told this was the exact same thing, except upgraded and better. THAT IS NOT THE CASE! The T319 doesn't capture video (something I used quite often with my old phone). It also doesn't have as many color options with it or ringtones. It lags every time I sign onto AIM. I have never been more unhappy with a new phone. If I could give this phone zero stars, I would.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not really an upgrade over other Samsung models
I use a phone mainly for talking, T9 texting, basic camera, alarm, and phonebook.I've had 6 cell phones over 3 years mostly because I have a big problem with losing them, so I'm fairly familiar with Nokia and Samsung brands. This one replaced the Samsung e335 that I loved (but lost). As a comparison, I don't like this one as much.

5-0 out of 5 stars no problems
i know other reviewers seemed to have a lot of issues, but this phone has worked very well for me.it is easy to use, comfortably fits in your pocket, and has been reliable.it's nothing fancy, and i haven't tried downloading ringtones, but if you just want a simple, easy to carry phone, this one is great.

1-0 out of 5 stars Bad recieve audio
We got two of these with our service upgrade from Verizon. They have terrible audio. It chopps off the leading edge of words and sometime drops out to the point that a conversation is nearly impossible. Verizon reloaded the software, no improvement. I talked to Samsung and got, send it back for a minimum 15 day turn around and we'll see what we can do about it. This phone has a serious bug in the software. Do not buy a Samsung SCH-A630, it's a piece of junk. By the way, one phone in our upgrade was a Motorola, it works fine.

5-0 out of 5 stars Solid workhorse phone, stylish, reasonable feature set
The Katana is a very solid phone wrapped up in a stylish package. It takes the RAZR look and feature set and goes it one better for less money.
4-0 out of 5 stars A very nice voice phone
I just upgraded from a very old Nokia, so having the "new" features of the past few years is really rather nice.I used Mac OS X's Address Book's "Send these contacts..." feature to instantly load up the address book on the phone, so that's nice.It doesn't sync, of course, so you get some duplicates, but that's easy to handle.

Maybe we're just really hard on our phones, but my mother and I both had problems with this phone. My mothers phone suddenly started dropping a lot of calls, the screen broke and one day a huge, spreading crack appeared in it.She swears she never dropped it, what started out looking like a minor scratch ended up breaking the phone nearly in half. Our warranty covered it and she got a new phone, the same model. She hasnt had any problems with the new one yet.

I've had this phone for over a year and a half and I've really never had a problem with it.The reception varies but it's generally pretty reliable. My whole family uses it for work because of the walkie-talkie feature.
3-0 out of 5 stars Decent phone, but very dated
I had the Nextel i730 for 8 months then i just couldnt take it anymore. To be honest the phone is a easy phone to get attached to. But recently i upgrade to the i850 and iam very very happy i did. The i730 is a phone / radio. The color screen is on par with all other free phones that are usually FREE. So basicly the screen is not impressive at all. The phone comes with features, but to be honest it took me about 2 months to figure out how to use all of them on,( NOT USER FRIENDLY AT ALL) and by that time i had lost faith in the phone itself. It's heavy, very heavy, and thick. On the good side, it' sorta stylish and its very durable, this is what i loved about it. I dropped the phone so many times and it has very little exterior damage. I look at this phone like, a army tank, versus my newer i850 which i just upgraded to, and thats more like a convertable BMW. The i850 is a phone that you just have to have a leather case on it, because it looks so good, that you dont wanna risk it gettings scratched, this on the other hand, there's no need to case it, because the exterior is that solid. I'm a 23 year old male out of atlanta ga. As far as reception, the calls on the i730 are very clear, the speaker phone is awesome, you can almost set the phone in one room and talk at a leisure tone on the other side of the room and the caller will hear you fine, which is cool. But to be honest i can only say this phone would fit someone who is not looking for alot bells and whistles, Not a person between the ages of 16-21, bad idea. This phone is for people who want a phone that can handle just about anything, ie construction worker. Another good thing about this phone is it'is nearly impossible to lose, due to its weight. When you have the i730 on the hip swivle thing, it feels like you've got a gun on ur hip, or a flash light, its that heavy. Plus with it being 2006 and all, this phone is getting very dated, by the end of the year this phone is going to be classified as a dinosaur. If you can get it for free, go for it, but if your paying money, trust me, dish out a few extra bucks and go with the i850, the i850 is the honest to god best cell phone ive ever owned, and ive had 15+ cells.

1-0 out of 5 stars Two cans and some string?
Throughout my ownership of 2 different handsets, both model i730 (t), I would constantly be aggravated by the slow response of the phone. Everything from making phone calls, to sending a text message, to checking the sports scores or weather, is run from a Java program. This means that sending of commands from the buttons to the application is extremely delayed. This delay only gets worse as the day goes on, and I am usually forced to restart the phone 2 or 3 times a day.

1-0 out of 5 stars This phone is a POS
I got this phone because I lost my old Nokia phone and was told that is is very durable. Anyway, my first one died within the 30 days period and I was able to trade it in the store. The next one lasted about 5 months and now I am using the one my father-in -law refused to use. It loses the network, I don't get my voicemails, can't IM anymore, and to top it of it only works when plugged in. Three of these POS later I am not even going to send it in for a free replacement.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very durable
I didn't have much to add to the other reviews but I did want to say that my wife accidently ran the X495 through a complete cycle in a washing machine. After drying it out with a hair dryer and letting it sit for a couple of hours we recharged it and it worked like new.
2-0 out of 5 stars Decent call sound quality, other stuff is lacking
If you just want a phone to make calls, this one is acceptable. The speaker lacks low frequency sound, but it's pretty clear overall. But Samsung added a bunch of other features, none of which work very well. Don't buy this phone if you are counting on those extra features.

2-0 out of 5 stars Worst phone I have ever used
I have this phone for about 9 months now, within 3 months it's talk time is reduced to just about half an hour. I contacted its career Verizon Wireless and complained about it, they wouldn't replace it for free. I have contacted LG about it, they would replace only if I send the battery to them and they determine it is bad. I am dissapointed by this phone as well as by Verizon Wireless. I have had enough of it, I will replace both when my contract is over.

1-0 out of 5 stars Nightmare.
Since I bought it 10 months ago my LG VX4650 has become completely useless. At month 3 it lost it's ability to ring with the vibrator, at month 4 I had to replace its battery, and at month 10 it will not pick up or emmit any noise.

2-0 out of 5 stars Do not buy this phone!!
I got this phone and was so excited. It worked great for the first 4 months and then the reception started going bad, and the battery wouldn't even charge the phone right.I would stick the charger in a three minutes later it would say it was charged and then within three minutes of talk time the phone would just die. I had to keep the charger plugged in just to talk to people. It must be some kind of defect, but I wasn't sure if it was the phone or the battery.Anyway, I don't not recommend this phone. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars If you are clumbsy like me...this is your phone...
I have had this phone for about 6 months now and all together is has been great. I mean it dont have bluetooth but besides that its good. I have had so many hightech phones but end up dropping them and breaking them or finding them in my daughters purse in a million pieces. This phone i dont have that problem it is really made good. i have dropped it off my car going down the road and went back and got it and its fine..

1-0 out of 5 stars This Phone is Horrible!!!
I got this phone in January, and I had to take it back the day I got it because it kept losing service and dropping calls. They gave me a new one thinking that it was just that phone... but it wasn't.The one I have now isn't as bad as the first one, but it still loses service and drops calls constantly.Don't buy this phone!

1-0 out of 5 stars Worst Phone.Stay away from LG C1500+Cingular
This has to be the worst phone I've ever owned.I thought Motorola StarTac (my very first phone) was bad, wait till use this phone.I have 4 LG C1500 phones in my family plan.2 works ok but the other two, where do I begin.First, it keeps complaining to insert sim card although it's inserted properly.Went to Cingular store got the new sim card, works ok for a day.Next day, same thing.Did this 3 times and had Cingular send me the replacement phones. Now one of the two doesn't complain about the sim card but occationally it says it's not in the network although it shows full bars. The other one still have problem with sim card.I just got the third replacement phone and now it seemed to be ok with sim card issue but can't talk more than a minute. It just drops a call in the middle of conversation.I now am trying to get a 4th replacement phone but not sure if they will issue it.I am under 2 year contract and still got 14 months to go, what a nightmare.... ... 2-0 out of 5 stars not as advertised
I've gone through about five of these phones in the past 18 months. The phone is supposed to have about 10 days of standby (if not used and kept on)and a few hours of talk time. For about a month, I got about a quarter of what was promised, now, I need to charge it every day (gone through 3 batteries.)Get this thing anywhere near moisture, I'm talking about humid days, or even if your packet gets damp from a little rain, and the phone happens to be in it, and it starts going bonkers.
5-0 out of 5 stars good phone
I have had this phone for over a year and have no real issues with it.It still works great. The battery sometimes dies quicker than usual (dont know why)but most of the time it works great.Other people have borrowed my phone and saythat they love it.The screen is clear and readable and the sound quality is better than the phones that they have.Have dropped it many times and nothing has happened to it, it is pretty durable.

2-0 out of 5 stars Phone discharges Battery
After we had the phone for about 9 months, it started discharging battery pretty quickly. When I got it, a full charge used to last almost a week and now it hardly lasts one day. First visit to Verizon store was a very bad experience. The manager was very rude and said that they can't help me since I did not buy the phone at a Verizon store (I bought it online at an authorized reseller). Assuming the problem to be battery, I replaced with a new battery. Same battery discharge on both of our phones even with new battery. Another call to Verizon and another trip to their store (a different one) resulted in the phones being replaced. It's 3 days now with the replaced phones (and the old batteries) and it's holding up...I'm hoping I don't see any more problems till my 2 yr contract ends...I'll Never buy another Motorola phone (prior to this we had a V600 and that too had the same battery problem) ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Solid and Reliable
Myself and my wife have both had a V300 for over a year now and it is a great phone. It is reliable and takes a beating! I say that as we have two young children who always manage to get their hands on our cell phones, and needless to say they have taken some abuse and have never broken!
5-0 out of 5 stars BRILLIANT!!!
I love this phone! I have it and it is great! And I am not just saying this because I have it. It really is ! Sure, my sister has a video camera in her phone but mine has more music software and ringtones- polyphonic, classic ,ritual and normal.
3-0 out of 5 stars An "okay" phone
It's definitely small, light weight and loaded with useful features (camera, alarm, mini organizer). The design is also pretty and the phone feels smooth in your hands... but the phone kept dying on me.i had to return it twice during my one year warranty. once the backlight stopped working and i couldn't see anything. on the second phone the camera stopped working. finally my third phone works fine, but after two years the speaker started deteriorating and i can't hear anything on the other end unless i put it on speaker or use the earphone. it was also pretty slow when browsing through pictures and occasionally freezes up. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Not a good phone
This phone is very hard to hear when it's ringing. I tried downloading a new ringer thinking it my be better but it sounded awful and not any louder. The phone does not hold a charge, I'm charging it very other day, and bought a phone car charger becuase it is always dead. This is just an emergency phone rarely used, I'm still working on the minutes I bought last year. T mobile does offer a great deal on minutes. I bought $100 card last year, minutes good for one year, I still had 800 minutes at the end of the year, bought a $10 card right before my minutes expired and all my minutes rolled over for another year! What a great deal!!! Just don't buy this phone, but use t mobile service.

1-0 out of 5 stars This is junk
This is a horrible phone!
1-0 out of 5 stars For the love of God, DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!!!If i could give a phone NEGATIVE STARS . . .
If I could give a phone negative starts, I would give this phone -100. I "upgraded" to this phone over a year ago. Worked fine for about 6 months. Then it started short-circuiting on me. It kept, yes, turning off on its own whenever it felt like it. Very annoying when you have check your phone every other minute to make sure it is turned out. And this was no due to abuse because I am very careful with my phones and never dropped it once. After about a week it was turning itself off literally every 5 minutes. THEN, it wouldn't let me dial or make phone calls. And then if that wasn't enough, it wouldn't let me answer incoming calls. Then the screen starting freezing up. I had a warranty with T-mobile so they sent me a new phone - same exact style unfortunately. This time it took only 3 weeks before it was once again shutting itself off every few minutes, not letting me dial out or receive phone calls. Once again I had to exchange it, uncer warranty, for the exact same type of phone. This phone only took a week to crap out on me. I went down to T-mobile to try to get them to give me a phone - any phone other phone - besides another one of this style. They said I had to wait until a full year after I "upgraded" to this piece of crap. Of note, the minute I showed the cust. service rep the phone, he laughed and said saracastically, "So how do you like your phone?" He also told me they stopped selling it ages ago because of all the returns on it. In 10 months I went through 7 of these phones. Please, for the love of God, Do NOT buy this piece of crap! ANY OTHER PHONE WOULD BE BETTER THAN THIS! Also of note, the ringer is very, very quiet - even at the loudest setting. So if you actually want to hear it ring, do not ever listen to any music (even quiet music) or watch TV or go shopping or to any public place because if you can't hear a pin drop, you definaely will not hear this phone ring. After this phone I went out and bought the old NOKIA 6010 (...)it actually works! And you can hear it ring! Sure it looks ancient and isn't a cool flip-phone, but at leat it actually works!

3-0 out of 5 stars Poor instructions
Just got my Katana today, and am unhappy at the moment. The instruction manual is poor.I am trying to download ringtones, but the manual only gives instructions for Sprint's rip-off ringtones that only last 90 days.I can't figure out how to get it to work with other sites and the instruction manual doesn't give a hint. The preloaded rings are awful.
4-0 out of 5 stars Great phone for the casual user
I bought this phone to replace my 2 1/2-year old Samsung Vi660. I've been a big fan of the Samsung line, and thought about buying their comparable version to the Katana (the A900) but the reviews of the Katana's superior battery life won me over.I am not much for the fancy features of cell phones - I just wanted a slimmer phone that had a lower radiation emissions level than the Vi660, a built-in speakerphone, and bluetooth connectivity. After using the phone for a few weeks, here are my impressions so far:
3-0 out of 5 stars Katana Blue
I've been a sprint customer for over three years and have owned three sanyo phones; Sanyo 8100, Sanyo 8300, and the Kantana. If you're coming from a mulitimedia phone like the Sanyo 8300, the SCP-6600 Katana may be a bit of a disappointment to you. The Katana just doesn't have all of the bells and whistles as a multimedia phone. The Katana has no built in flash which is needed for taking half decent pictures with a camera phone. It also has no camcorder or media player. But then again its not suppose to. It's basically an attempt by sprint and Sanyo to satisfy the consumer cravings for the popular RAZR phones that are available through wireless carriers like Cingular, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, Cricket and a few others. It's obvious by looking at the Katana that it was inspire by the Razr, which does not have MM functions either. On a feature note I would have to give the Katana a one besides doing the simple things like making phone calls and downloading ringers and screen savers there's just not much more you can do on it. Aesthetically the Katana is not that much of a beaut. However, it is for the time being a bit different looking so for (except when compared to the RAZR) that I'd give it a four. For the lack of a decent camera and camcorder I have to deduct two more points which brings rating down to three stars. Oh for those of you who are interested in bluetooth the phone is bluetooth capable. After looking at the Black, Pink and Blue Kantana phone I decided to get the pink. I like the way the blue looked over the internet but in person it was just too "loud" for my taste. ... Read more
