1-0 out of 5 stars Terrible phone
I have had this phone for about six months.I replaced a Kyocera that I disliked because it was so big, but the size of this phone does not begin to make up for its problems. The menus are very poorly designed, they are difficult to navigate and it's hard to do anything. The ringer speaker is inside the phone, so when it's closed, it's almost impossible to hear.I almost never hear it ring.I usually keep it in my pocket with the vibrate turned on, but if you turn the phone off, the vibrate gets turned off, so you have to remember to turn that back on!I hate this phone, and will be replacing it soon.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Good Phone
This phone is great! It has all the basic features I wanted out of a phone and I was able to fix thelow ringtone problem by searching for "audiovox 8610 hack" over the internet.
2-0 out of 5 stars Virgin Mobile= poor quality phones
I reluctantly bought this phone because my Kyocera Slider suddenly died on me conveniently 3 months after VM's warranty was up and i had just purchased a $20 phone card + had airtime credits which were not refundable.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect device
I have used non-phone pocket pc PDAs before and have come to rely on them, so when this was available from my Alltel service, I jumped to get it so that I wouldn't need to carry a PDA and a phone with me.
2-0 out of 5 stars Phone is a Major Disappointment on many levels
I can't say enough bad things about this device. Save yourself from a headache and don't purchase this product. The battery does NOT make it through a day of minimal use.In order to have this phone work properly for you, you would need to purchase an extended battery with a price range from 60 - 80 dollars. The most disappointing feature of this phone is the phone's speaker volume itself. It is very hard to hear conversations, and it makes for many frustrating phone calls. Many colleagues of mine have decided not to purchase this device after they experienced first hand how poor the quality of the phone was. The phone however sounds excellent when plugged into a headset. The phone as it is, is bulky... let alone adding a larger battery onto it. For the money spent, I'm very disappointed. The manufacturer has cut many corners in making this device and it is evident.Shame on them!

3-0 out of 5 stars JUST A PHONE WHICH NEEDS 100 XTRA STYLUS

3-0 out of 5 stars its ok
this phone has its pros and cons. i think that it is a great starter phone and virgin mobile is the best prepaid service but there are some downsides.First, it has a really crappy camera and i mean awful. also, it does not hold that much memory.

1-0 out of 5 stars I Can't use it yet!!!
I bought this phone in the swapmeet by 50 dll , it is not open ,but the bad thing is that I can't use it because Virgin Mobil needs to activate this with a proof of purchase receipt which I don't have because in the swapmeet you pay cash !!$$$ Now , I don't know what to dobecause the person who sold it to me , is not working there anymore ,,,plsss somebody could help me ???/

1-0 out of 5 stars Terrible Sound Quality
This is a poor Sprint phone, full of crackle and echo. When I went in to complain, they did not seem surprised (I was beyond the 30-day return period).
4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty good overall
I just got this phone about 2 weeks ago. It's pretty easy to use. Voice quality is acceptable. Battery life is terrific. But my favorite feature is the blue lighting on the hinges/sides of the phone. I like this feature because it draws attention to the phone when in use and is just straight-out cool. It's lights are not as good as the previous T-Mobile phone that I had (The Siemens CF62T, which also has lighting effects, except they are around the rim of the keyboard) but it works. Overall, this phone is pretty good. Can take a beating, easy to learn functions/features, fair quality camera, and frigging sweet dynamic lights.

2-0 out of 5 stars Poor sound quality and speaker
*To be fair, I liked about the phone the camera resolution and the zoom, but it is very slow even on the least resolution.

5-0 out of 5 stars Tough Little Phone
I've had the phone for 2 years and it's performed really well.Gets a signal when other Verizon phones won't.It's been dropped a dozen times and even fell off my truck hood at 10 miles an hour in a parking lot (don't ask).Display is excellent and camera is as good as any from that year.Only complaint is the speakerphone. Not loud enough and doesn't turn on like it should. As with most Audiovox phones, it does get a tad warm if you're on the phone a while.

5-0 out of 5 stars They Discontinue the perfect phone
I had my cdma 9900 phone for over three years. I got video of my grandchild on this phone they first moments of his life. I was able to transfer to my computer. Countless pictures games and ringtones. I have 5 differnt phones on my verizone account and replaced several several times. This phone outlasted the so called best the signal is awsome I use this phone a lot has the original battery I talk approx 1 1/2 hrs a day they weekends I talk five or six hours yes I plug in the phone so that time is not all battery. They discontiued this phone becuase it is so durable high memory long life battery great pictures video and sound recorder as well with many other toys. They stoped becuase they want you to buy other phones within in a year or two this phone is awsome I have not found another phone yet to compare this one two. This is the tucker of sell phones if you know the story of the tucker car you know what I mean. If you can buy this phone new do it this phone is worth its wieght in gold

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfection?
I've had it for just over a year now, and it is by far the best phone I have ever used.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Phone!
I've had it for 6 months and I am glad I bought it. Excellent features. Flawless syncronization. If you will use it for a lot of emailing I recommend getting a portable bluetooth keyboard. For normal use T9 is sufficient.

3-0 out of 5 stars MDs beware...poor software options, worse reception
Love the size and style of this phone, but if you are an MD, go back to PocketPC or Palm. There is simply no medical software worth having that uses this platform.I even contacted several publishers of the 'basic' medical software and they had no plans to make their products adaptable.I also have a candybar el cheapo cell phone [doesn't even have a camera] that I use at home with the same carrier and the reception is remarkably better.I'm switching to Treo.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not very good at all...
At the time (almost 2 years ago) this phone seemed like it had alot of good features, but the bad far outweighs the good. The camera and screen are next to worthless, you can never make out the pictures, calls are often dropped, verizon has disabled many features - like they do with all of their phones.Counting the days until my contract ends...

2-0 out of 5 stars Basic phone: good at first, then slowly declines
I purchased this phone almost two years ago. Within the first week of having it I noticed that some calls were not being logged in my 'recent calls' folder. Weird. So I had it replaced...but the same thing happened with the new phone. At the time I didn't really care and had no interest trying to research a better phone. This was probably a foreshadowing of just how "blah" this phone has been.

it works for almost exactly one year, but then it completely falls apart.i don't abuse it, yet it's still extremely unreliable, not to mention obnoxious.

1-0 out of 5 stars Poor reliability
I had my phone for less than 6 months before the SIM card started acting up, making the phone useless.Good luck trying to get technical support as well, since Audiovox has been taken over by another company.

1-0 out of 5 stars Decent phone, BIG hardware and customer service issues
I've had this phone for a year and a few months, my husband gave it to me as a Christmas gift the year it came out. In terms of all it's functions it worked fine; camera, games, making calls, etc. However a few months after getting it I had a problem with the charger. Basicially the metal pin in the charging hole broke. I called Virgin about it and they sent out a second phone, but I of course lost all my pictures and stored numbers. Well recently it happened again and even though I haven't had this phone for a year the warranty only starts with when I purchased the orginial phone. So I have, once again, lost all my photos and contacts and Virgin won't do anything about it.I was even willing to stay with Virgin as my phone company and upgrade to another phone, but I wanted at least $50 off the new phone, considering we paid nearly $200 for this one when it came out.But all they would offer me was a different phone for $36.Thanks guys, wanted the camera.Basically this particular charging system is crap and they don't want to do anything to make up for it.
1-0 out of 5 stars Try tracfone instead !!!
Tracfone gives better deals in minutes. It is perfect for those with light, in town usage. It only uses one unit per minute, two if you're outside of your area code(roaming), and long distance doesn't cost any extra. The airtime doesn't cost a fortune, and you have no credit checks, or monthly bills. Reception is good because they utilize many different providers instead of just one. They also have a referral program, so you can earn 100 extra minutes for free if your friends and family buy one too(they also get 180 minutes). If you want a referral to get started with 100 free minutes, just e-mail me at amitgames@yahoo.com , I'd be happy to send you the link! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars great phone
i personlly LOVE this phone. i love new stuff and this is one ofmy favorite toys. Sure its a little large for a cellphone but with a bluetooth headset your fine. my phone does just fine on battery life and as for low volume, i had an audiovox phone b4 and its just the brand and a bluetooth headset or putting it on speakerphone works just fine for me. 1 word of advise is to purchase more stylus, because YOU WILL LOSE THEM... just a fact of life. overall i LOVE this phone and recommend it if you like new "geeky" toys.

4-0 out of 5 stars Pump up the volume
The first thing I did when boiught this phone was drive over the hill.Every other call was dropped (with same service provider as they are the only national one in our rural area) until I got this phone and voila I can talk nearly everywhere. Now if onlyI could hear everywhere- I cannot hear you now if there is ambient noise and I don't have an earpiece in.
5-0 out of 5 stars pda plus

It performs quickly and reliably. have had no problems in over a year of using, dropping and connecting. The internet connections works well and the VPN, Wireless sync, and pop3 clients are strong. only downsides are too low volume and no zoom on the camera! ... 1-0 out of 5 stars This phone has been discontinued....Not really a big surprise
Many of the reviews you have already read leave you not wondering why this phone has been taken off Verizon shelves. I decided that I needed to replace my battery after the phone kept dying on me when I used it for less than an hour. The Verizon store luckily had one battery left. Then came the wonderful news that my phone had been pulled from the shelves. Hmmm, why did they not alert all of the victims who were stuck with this fickle and unreliable phone. I am away at college, and my phone dies on me when I am walking around 2am back to my dorm. Needless to say, I should never take a discount for a cell phone.
1-0 out of 5 stars Not worth the headache
Like other users, I've been pretty dissatisfied with this phone.Battery is eaten up by the picture button being pushed accidentally. I'm on my third one now.I know...What do I keep going back for? They keep dying for no apparent reason.Current one won't charge without forcing charger into port, which is the only reason I stick with this model - so I don't have to replace accessories too.Alternatives from Verizon were horrible - $90 for a phone you can buy on ebay for $20?I just think if a company pushes these phones on you, they should back them up better.

1-0 out of 5 stars Lousy Phone
I have so many beefs with this phone after a year and half of use.The biggest is the overall poor design. For example, the camera button is prominent on the side of the phone, and I constantly bump it, turning on the camera. It won't shut off automatically, so if you don't notice it immediately, you have a dead battery only a short while later. Why would the camera even turn on in the first place with the phone in the closed position???Hello??? Stupid.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not Worth It.
It was Christmas time and I was looking at cell phones from VM. This was a while ago when I was just looking for a phone to tell my mom "Hey, I need picked up from school now!" I looked at this one and I thought it was the COOLEST DARN PHONE IN THE WORLD.
4-0 out of 5 stars Great phone for minimal use
This phone has treated me well. Have had it for almost 3 years and it's very durable. Has not failed me. The VM plan is great for emergencies. (lookout guy has it wrong I believe). I pay $20 for 3 months worth of service. I rarely use it, but on occasion do make calls; just not everyday. Minute2minute is not an everyday use plan! I always have $$ leftover when I need to top up every 3 months. So, I am basically paying $7 a month for the security of a reliable phone. Can't beat it!
4-0 out of 5 stars Not bad
This phone always worked well for me the only thing that I didn't like about it is that the screen is hard to see other than that it is a great phone ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I love my phone.
At first, when I was switching over from a basic cell phone, I didn't know if I wanted one that was going to have so many features to it. But after getting this phone, I love it and I barely ever have any trouble with it. It has frozen up on me a couple times, but I have had it for almost a year now and it really has only been a couple times. But overall, it has been great! I love the mp3 feature.
4-0 out of 5 stars Get a free unlocked Motorola RAZR v3i instead!
Why settle for less, or commit yourself to a specific cellular provider and service plan, when you can get a complimentary unlocked top of the line Motorola RAZR v3i cell phone that works with any cellular service provider and any SIM card. I got mine free at this web site:reallyfree2u.com/razrv3i

3-0 out of 5 stars defaults to T9Word
The phone is okay by most criteria and the camera has a nice little protective sliding cover for the lens. The big drawback -- in "MEMO" the default text entry mode is T9Word (that gimmicky little program that guesses what word you're trying to type and imposes its guess) which I deeply hate, and is inappropriate for anyone with more than a third grade vocabulary, or anyone who needs to make up their own abbreviations to fit the limitations of the memo memory (who doesn't?!!)Furthermore, the phone won't let you shift to ABC mode immediately after selecting the memo function. You have to start typing in T9Word, then shift to ABC.It's insane and very irritating. There's no way to change the default, or to disable or remove the T9Word mode. For this alone, I wish I hadn't gotten this phone. ...
