2-0 out of 5 stars Just looks fancy, other than that...
I got this phone basically for free, but even taking that into account, I'm pretty disappointed with the phone. This is my first Samsung and, I'm pretty sure, my last one! I owned a Nokia before and I regret that I "betrayed" it. From now I wouldn't get anything besides Nokia and in the worst case maybe Sony-Ericsson.
1-0 out of 5 stars Lousy Lousy Lousy
I can't believe that with technology as advanced as it is, Samsung could produce this giant POS. It's flashy, yes. But does it deliver?? No. I actually refused to pay the bill and let them shut my service off. I loved the clarity of the pictures, even though the 1 megapixel camera was pretty lousy, and I even liked the video feature. But the phone is only good IF YOU CAN USE IT!!! It's been years since I've had such lousy reception from a phone. I'm considering taking the dealer to court over this, since they pushed it on me and told me what a great phone it was. I want my money back!!!

1-0 out of 5 stars Total Waste of Time
Has to be the worst phone I have ever had to pay for.Between the missing features (no voice dial on a $200 phone?!) crippled features (I have to buy ringtones, use their t-zone for the WAP when I have the unlimited internet service already?) and poor reception and terrible battery life it has almost made me want to pay the early cancellation fee and find another carrier.Anyone who would charge some much for this POS really doesn't deserve my business. ... The V710 was a hit for Motorola and Verizon. Now comes its successor, the E815, with support for Verizon Wireless's groundbreaking V CAST service, which allows you to download or stream full-motion video and 3D games all on your handset. The E815 offers more internal memory (40 MB) to handle all the videos, photos, and other data you'll be enjoying with high-speed data service. All the great features of the V710 are here, too, including Bluetooth, a 1.2-megapixel camera, video messaging, TransFlash memory expansion, and more. It's a flagship phone for those who won't settle for less.Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars not as advertised
I've gone through about five of these phones in the past 18 months. The phone is supposed to have about 10 days of standby (if not used and kept on)and a few hours of talk time. For about a month, I got about a quarter of what was promised, now, I need to charge it every day (gone through 3 batteries.)Get this thing anywhere near moisture, I'm talking about humid days, or even if your packet gets damp from a little rain, and the phone happens to be in it, and it starts going bonkers.
5-0 out of 5 stars good phone
I have had this phone for over a year and have no real issues with it.It still works great. The battery sometimes dies quicker than usual (dont know why)but most of the time it works great.Other people have borrowed my phone and saythat they love it.The screen is clear and readable and the sound quality is better than the phones that they have.Have dropped it many times and nothing has happened to it, it is pretty durable.

2-0 out of 5 stars Phone discharges Battery
After we had the phone for about 9 months, it started discharging battery pretty quickly. When I got it, a full charge used to last almost a week and now it hardly lasts one day. First visit to Verizon store was a very bad experience. The manager was very rude and said that they can't help me since I did not buy the phone at a Verizon store (I bought it online at an authorized reseller). Assuming the problem to be battery, I replaced with a new battery. Same battery discharge on both of our phones even with new battery. Another call to Verizon and another trip to their store (a different one) resulted in the phones being replaced. It's 3 days now with the replaced phones (and the old batteries) and it's holding up...I'm hoping I don't see any more problems till my 2 yr contract ends...I'll Never buy another Motorola phone (prior to this we had a V600 and that too had the same battery problem) ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Solid and Reliable
Myself and my wife have both had a V300 for over a year now and it is a great phone. It is reliable and takes a beating! I say that as we have two young children who always manage to get their hands on our cell phones, and needless to say they have taken some abuse and have never broken!
5-0 out of 5 stars BRILLIANT!!!
I love this phone! I have it and it is great! And I am not just saying this because I have it. It really is ! Sure, my sister has a video camera in her phone but mine has more music software and ringtones- polyphonic, classic ,ritual and normal.
3-0 out of 5 stars An "okay" phone
It's definitely small, light weight and loaded with useful features (camera, alarm, mini organizer). The design is also pretty and the phone feels smooth in your hands... but the phone kept dying on me.i had to return it twice during my one year warranty. once the backlight stopped working and i couldn't see anything. on the second phone the camera stopped working. finally my third phone works fine, but after two years the speaker started deteriorating and i can't hear anything on the other end unless i put it on speaker or use the earphone. it was also pretty slow when browsing through pictures and occasionally freezes up. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Don't buy this phone!
The processer is slow, so the phone has to think everytime you do something.... imagine scrolling down the address book and the phone taking time to respond to each time you push the scroll down button. That is just an example of how slow its processor speed is. The camera is of extremely poor quality, which makes it virtually useless. I've had the phone only 4 months and it's starting to drop calls frequently... so I called LG and their solution is to have me mail my phone to them, and in 3-4 weeks they will let me know if they will fix it for free or if I have to pay to have it fixed. In this day and age, most people can't conduct business without their cell phone... especially for 3-4 weeks. LG's policy repair is prohibitive, and the phone is substandard. Don't buy this phone!

2-0 out of 5 stars Fine at first, not so fine after 6 months.
I had this phone given to me about 6 months ago and I could almost not be more disappointed. In the beginning of my ownership, here's what I experienced.
5-0 out of 5 stars I like the LG 225
Mine is Red and I like the color.I like the sound quality and ringers. It is easier to hear the ringers than on the Samsung I had before. It also seems to get better reception than the Samsung even though it has an internal antenna, which I also like a lot.

5-0 out of 5 stars increadible device
I'll make this real quick.I travel a ton with my laptop glued to me, and this phone (thanks to EVO) is my modem.I'll use it all day as a modem and never get disconnected. The speed is almost as good as DSL, and I'll frequently download 100MB+ files from the internet using the PHONE!It's just increabile as bascially a constant broadband connection to the web. Also great for reading/replying to mail on the fly.Synch is super fast. Not a bad phone either.Sound is excellent and rarely get dropped calls. In fact I did a 4 hour conference call from Oxford Wisconsin (middle of nowhere) recently.Couldn't believe it actually worked there, let alone stayed connected for 4 hours.Speaker phone is great. Downsides are the keys are a little small, speed dial could be a little easier, and the bluetooth has given me some problems (but I never looked into it).Regardless, this is the best device/gadget/whatever I've ever bought -- hands down!My wife absolutely hates it because its now glued to my hand.

3-0 out of 5 stars Has Bluetooth Issues out of the box that can be solved
I am a big fan of the voice dialing software that's on the higher-end Samsungs. I was eligible for an upgrade from my A610 and was looking to get a PDA phone to kill two birds with one stone (my Palm died a few months ago). Because of my work it's inconvenient to have a phone with a camera so the i730 seemed a logical combination of PDA and phone features. It is a Windows machine so I did expect some difficulties (Mac person's perspective). However, my most precious feature, the voice dial, had problems. VoiceSignal software that is used on the i730 was supposed to work like the one on my old A610 by allowing voice dial to be initiated when pushing the button on the headset. With the A610, it was a corded headset, but the i730 with a Bluetooth headset didn't function right (Jabra BT500). Couldn't initiate voice dial with the headset button or do any other functions with it. Couldn't even get sound through the headset! Verizon folks just don't sell enough of these things to have 'experts', even on the phone. Samsung wasn't much better, saying that I should try another bluetooth headset (already tried that). Jabra said it was a problem with the phone and to ignore their own website that said none of the Jabras were compatible with the i730. AARRRGGHHH!!!
2-0 out of 5 stars Great PDA, but a bad phone!!!
I couldn't wait for this phone to come out and then to actually get it after seeing it reviewed at CES last year.I was hoping that it was the answer to the ultimate coverged device.Well it only lives up to it half way.As a PDA, it's hard to beat.It does everything you'd expect of a PDA and the interface is great. Also, you can install lots of helpful software on it to make you more productive. Now the bad part, the phone flat out stinks.I had a Samsung all digital phone on the Verizon service before this one and it was much better. The i730 phone cannot hold a signal for very long.On my hour commute I drop the call on average about 10 times, when before I knew there were one or two spots that I might drop the call due to a weak area. It's not just this physical phone because I had it replaced with a brand new one from Verizon.Same thing, crappy reception and constantly drops calls. To make it worse the phone (or software) turns itself off periodically. You think the phone is on, but when you go to use it you find out it's not working and requires a soft reset. Also, when in this state people are calling and it's going right to v-mail.I asked Verizon about this and no good answers. Finally, after 8 months of frustration I switched to the new Blackberry 8700 on Cingular.WOW!!!The phone is so much better - crystal clear, hardly ever drops a call and I haven't had to reset it once in about 2 months. The interface takes some getting used to but I will never go back to the Samsung i730. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Not a good phone
This phone is very hard to hear when it's ringing. I tried downloading a new ringer thinking it my be better but it sounded awful and not any louder. The phone does not hold a charge, I'm charging it very other day, and bought a phone car charger becuase it is always dead. This is just an emergency phone rarely used, I'm still working on the minutes I bought last year. T mobile does offer a great deal on minutes. I bought $100 card last year, minutes good for one year, I still had 800 minutes at the end of the year, bought a $10 card right before my minutes expired and all my minutes rolled over for another year! What a great deal!!! Just don't buy this phone, but use t mobile service.

1-0 out of 5 stars This is junk
This is a horrible phone!
1-0 out of 5 stars For the love of God, DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!!!If i could give a phone NEGATIVE STARS . . .
If I could give a phone negative starts, I would give this phone -100. I "upgraded" to this phone over a year ago. Worked fine for about 6 months. Then it started short-circuiting on me. It kept, yes, turning off on its own whenever it felt like it. Very annoying when you have check your phone every other minute to make sure it is turned out. And this was no due to abuse because I am very careful with my phones and never dropped it once. After about a week it was turning itself off literally every 5 minutes. THEN, it wouldn't let me dial or make phone calls. And then if that wasn't enough, it wouldn't let me answer incoming calls. Then the screen starting freezing up. I had a warranty with T-mobile so they sent me a new phone - same exact style unfortunately. This time it took only 3 weeks before it was once again shutting itself off every few minutes, not letting me dial out or receive phone calls. Once again I had to exchange it, uncer warranty, for the exact same type of phone. This phone only took a week to crap out on me. I went down to T-mobile to try to get them to give me a phone - any phone other phone - besides another one of this style. They said I had to wait until a full year after I "upgraded" to this piece of crap. Of note, the minute I showed the cust. service rep the phone, he laughed and said saracastically, "So how do you like your phone?" He also told me they stopped selling it ages ago because of all the returns on it. In 10 months I went through 7 of these phones. Please, for the love of God, Do NOT buy this piece of crap! ANY OTHER PHONE WOULD BE BETTER THAN THIS! Also of note, the ringer is very, very quiet - even at the loudest setting. So if you actually want to hear it ring, do not ever listen to any music (even quiet music) or watch TV or go shopping or to any public place because if you can't hear a pin drop, you definaely will not hear this phone ring. After this phone I went out and bought the old NOKIA 6010 (...)it actually works! And you can hear it ring! Sure it looks ancient and isn't a cool flip-phone, but at leat it actually works!

4-0 out of 5 stars I love this phone...
...and the only reason I didn't give it five stars is because I HATE Sprint and am switching to T-Mobile (I shed a tear as I say goodbye to my Sanyo).I originally had the red version, and it did die unexpedidly. It started shutting off on its own, and one day it just wouldn't turn back on (lost all of my numbers, which was crummy). But Sprint replaced it with the silver one (which was, admittedly, a let down).Honestly, I think my first one was maybe just a lemon because I have had NO problems with this one, so in spite of the problems with the original phone I would still highly suggest purchasing this phone (as long as you're set on Sprint).
5-0 out of 5 stars Durable:my dad ranover with his car and it still works great
I love this phone. This is defitnly one of sprint's best phones.
2-0 out of 5 stars Loved This Phone
I purchased this phone around 8/2005 in blue. Coming from the sanyo 8100 this phone's camera w/ built in flash was certainly and upgrade. This phone is full of bells and whistles like the walkie talkie, media player, speaker phone, ability to set the videos you take as video ring players and changeable accent plates. But after owning this phone for about six months the phone started acting like it needed an exorcist. REALLY NOW! The phone would start taking pictures on its own, the voice memo would come on on it own, the camcorder. The phone wouldn't allow me to make phone calls and the weirdness goes on. After a struggle I finally got Best Buy to do what they were suppose to do and send me a new phone under the extended warranty agreement that I purcahased. But they sent me a freaking silver phone which looked too much like the old Sany 8100 I had previously owned and all the other silver flip phones on the market. I became disenchanted with the phone and then it got stolen. Only to find out months later that it was my own freakin beloved niece who stole it from me. After getting my phone back I realized a gliche in the silver one. After deleting a text message it would always reappear. i deleted this particular text message several times and even all the text messages and after a while it always comes back. These phones cost fortunes but they are full of crap. ... Read more

Here's Sanyo's answer to the RAZR revolution, the SCP-6600 "Katana," a phone that meets or beats many of the RAZR's specifications -- all at a lower price. This phone packs Bluetooth, a gorgeous QVGA color screen, a speakerphone, and a VGA camera. And of course, it's very thin and chic.Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Poor instructions
Just got my Katana today, and am unhappy at the moment. The instruction manual is poor.I am trying to download ringtones, but the manual only gives instructions for Sprint's rip-off ringtones that only last 90 days.I can't figure out how to get it to work with other sites and the instruction manual doesn't give a hint. The preloaded rings are awful.
4-0 out of 5 stars Great phone for the casual user
I bought this phone to replace my 2 1/2-year old Samsung Vi660. I've been a big fan of the Samsung line, and thought about buying their comparable version to the Katana (the A900) but the reviews of the Katana's superior battery life won me over.I am not much for the fancy features of cell phones - I just wanted a slimmer phone that had a lower radiation emissions level than the Vi660, a built-in speakerphone, and bluetooth connectivity. After using the phone for a few weeks, here are my impressions so far:
3-0 out of 5 stars Katana Blue
I've been a sprint customer for over three years and have owned three sanyo phones; Sanyo 8100, Sanyo 8300, and the Kantana. If you're coming from a mulitimedia phone like the Sanyo 8300, the SCP-6600 Katana may be a bit of a disappointment to you. The Katana just doesn't have all of the bells and whistles as a multimedia phone. The Katana has no built in flash which is needed for taking half decent pictures with a camera phone. It also has no camcorder or media player. But then again its not suppose to. It's basically an attempt by sprint and Sanyo to satisfy the consumer cravings for the popular RAZR phones that are available through wireless carriers like Cingular, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, Cricket and a few others. It's obvious by looking at the Katana that it was inspire by the Razr, which does not have MM functions either. On a feature note I would have to give the Katana a one besides doing the simple things like making phone calls and downloading ringers and screen savers there's just not much more you can do on it. Aesthetically the Katana is not that much of a beaut. However, it is for the time being a bit different looking so for (except when compared to the RAZR) that I'd give it a four. For the lack of a decent camera and camcorder I have to deduct two more points which brings rating down to three stars. Oh for those of you who are interested in bluetooth the phone is bluetooth capable. After looking at the Black, Pink and Blue Kantana phone I decided to get the pink. I like the way the blue looked over the internet but in person it was just too "loud" for my taste. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars It's a one-year throwaway phone
If I had reviewed this phone within the first few months of getting it, I would have given it a very positive writeup. It's compact, ergonomically well-designed, and it performs well in terms of signal sensitivity and sound clarity. It was fun adding a few new ringtones (though there is not a whole lot of choice available for this model), and the removable, changeable face plates made customizing the phone possible.
4-0 out of 5 stars A great phone if you want just a phone.
I got this phone as part of an employee discount program my husband's company had, and I was able to choose from about a dozen phones. In the past I have worked where camera phones are not permitted at the place of employment, so I wanted to get "just a phone" without all of the extra goodies in case I worked again at a similar employer.
2-0 out of 5 stars buy something else. not worth it
i've had this phone for a year now. it was my first phone. the first 6 monthes was great. until the reception started to die down and would drop my calls half the time. then the battery life started to go as well. the battery used to last up to 4-5 days.Im not so shore about the looks either. it was too simple for me. I just want something that has better looks, and more options kike get it now ringtones. i strongly suggest the nokia 6236i. my friend has it and he's very satisfied with the looks, signal, and battery life. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars I was a STi user and dropped them like a Rock!
There was a time when STi was one of the best Pay as u go services until they added their every day fees. There is no way to look at your account usage which should be added now that they charge a fee. When you have to roam get ready to pull out your credit card cause it's extra in most areas. Do a search for cellguru.net and find out about the better offers available. But not STi. I liked when there was not a everyday fee and put up with the roam where I just would drive where there was no roam. The minutes I paid for went 85% towards there daily fees. The phone was just a regular flip phone nothing special.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Phone -Great Service!
I recently switched from a contract cellular plan to a prepaid plan because I was tired of paying high bills, outrageous telecom taxes, etc. After I did a lot of research with various prepaid cell phone companies I selected STi Mobile and could not be happier. They have the lowest rates; no hidden fees; and their minutes don't expire.Who could ask for more?
1-0 out of 5 stars Don't buy, worst ever phone plan and customer service

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Device with Some Major Problems
I am 14 years old and I just got a sidekick 3 as a reward frommy parents for getting into an advanced math program. They had some overall doubts that it was dangerous for a child of my age to handle such an item as i could misuse it without their knowledge.I agree with the man a few reviews down that parents should be worried about this device as internet predators and myspace predators are out there. That is why i recomend sitting down with your child and discussing the dangers of having such a device with them.If you notice that they understand the dangers, I would reccomend at least considering buying it.However, thoroughly make sure that they understand the dangers because the more I am using this device (which is limited because of my studies) I am recognizing that this device can do pretty much as much as a laptop with a few exceptions being that it cannot handle all applications and some other things.
4-0 out of 5 stars T-Mobile Sucks
I use to be a t-mobile costumer until they started charging me for changes i made to my plan that they didn't change.I called costumer service and they gave me the run around.I had two lines and changed one of the planes to a emergency plan for 100 mins a month. It was suppose to be changed at the end of the pay cycle.Low and be hold i get a bill for over 1,000 dollars. I'm like WTF. I call them and they say they changed my plan an hour after i called them to change it to an emergency plan. I was so mad because it was soppose to be changed at the end of the month taht was the agreement with there costumer service. I've been trying to get them to drop the overage charges but they say it is my fault for chabging my plan. That is not the only problem i had with changing my plan this has happened befor ewith them. Finnaly i got tired of them and went to cingular which costumer service is best. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Seems to be OK but ugly
When I read other customers' reviews I got quite upset. I've got the phone 3 days ago, and haven't learned all of it's features, but it seems to hold the charge pretty well so far, in fact much better than my previous Samsung e315. I do not like the fact that there is no external screen, but I think I can live with it. What I really like about the plan is free in network direct connect (walkie-talkie) calls and free roaming in Canada. We have unlimited local direct connect, which means we can connect for free in our local area, which includes upstate NY and VT. Nationwide direct-conect is 10c/min, but as they explained to me it's charged per second, i.e. if you talk 10 seconds you are charged for 10 seconds, not for 1 min. I kind of don't like the fact that direct-connect apparently is done through a different network or something like that, and for direct-connect you need to dial a number that is different from the phone number - it makes the amount of numbers to remember double, it would be more convenient to just make unlimited in-network calling like Sprint does. Anyway, this is still good because most calls that we do are between family members and we do travel. The only major problem with this phone is that I think it's really ugly, especially compared to the old samsung, however, I like the fact that it's bigger and heavier than my old phone, because I can more easily press it between my cheek and shoulder and talk on it while doing something else with my both hands - it's kind of important when you take care of your small kid and try to talk to your mom at the same time. The ring-tones that come with the phone are quite horrible, there was only one that I didn't particularly dislike, but I won't bother downloading anything, it's a phone after all, not a music player. The only problem is we have two identical phones, with the same ring-tone. :))) I can not deny that the problems with batteries and bad reception in West coast/FL that other customers mentioned got me a bit upset and I'm thinking wether I should return it and look for a better phone/plan, I wouldn't care about style or functionality flaws as much, but I do care about sturdiness and reliability. As for the plan, Nextel seems to be the only company who offers free phones with a 1 year contract and free roaming in Canada which is not entirely without a catch, because long-distance charges apply when you call from Canada. T-mobile does offer 1 year contract as well, but we just cancelled our account with them, and frankly speaking reception was very bad in our area.
1-0 out of 5 stars Piece of junk!
If I could give it a 0, I would.Doesn't hold a charge for more than 24 hours, sometimes less!A friend of mine has the same phone and exact same problem.Don't bother trying to save your battery life by turning it off.Nope!Turn it off with half a bar, turn it back on beeping because the stupid think is LOW to NO BAR!Reception is great for me, but what good is that if the thing is dead most of the time? Are you trying to conduct any kind of business?Do you need a cell phone to make phone calls?Well... this may not be the phone for you.Contract. Contract. Contract.Don't do it.BIG mistake...I can go on, but I won't.Piece of junk!

2-0 out of 5 stars Horrible
I got rid of the bulky i355s at the end of our contract and bought two of these for our account. We had to return the first phone (line1) within days of getting it as it would randomly shut off (crash), and other times the volume would fluctuate on its own.Exchanging it was an ordeal with Sprint - they charged me for the replacement phone and still haven't credited my account after two billing cycles.A few months later and now the second phone (line2) is crashing.I'll make a call and hang up - and it shuts off.Other times it will shut off in the middle of the call. The other night I went to charge it and it said invalid battery - so I took the battery out and put it back in.Then it said "invalid charger."I might go back to the i355, it was rugged, reliable (but large) phone.I guess I'll have to haggle with Motorola about getting this one fixed/replaced.

4-0 out of 5 stars secondhand review of this phone
my husband uses this phone for work and it has one of the funniest ringtones i've ever heard. i don't know what it's called but it has an upbeat techno rhythm to it. the walkie talkie feature is very useful as everyone in his business network uses it all the time, including him. it's great for a business that has many locations. i only give this product four stars because i haven't tried it myself so i don't know all the features. but i hope the review i've provided helps! ...
