4-0 out of 5 stars Easy to understand but I had a problem
I got this phone and it was easy for me to figure it out even though I've never had a flip phone. I went through the book and got everything set up.This said, my phone would only light up when someone called. I went in and reset all my tones. Finally I called Cingular and they had me call Nokia. Nokia said that there was something wrong with the Normal setting, it's where you can set it for normal, outdoors, meetings etc. I could either set it to outdoors and have the ringer turned down or return it or call Cingular and tell them what Nokia told me. I called Cingular and they had me ship it back and sent me a replacement. I liked everything about this phone except that it didn't ring or vibrate unless it was set to outdoors.

3-0 out of 5 stars A good phone...nothing less, nothing more.
This new phone which I bought through Cingular at a discount is good, but not great. The ONE thing I really don't like about this phone is the volume.I can barely hear someone on the other end.Even after turning the volume all the way up and turning the noise detection program on and off...still nothing. My Nokia 6010 was much better. The camera is okay, nothing great.Turning this thing on and off takes forever....much slower than my other Nokia, which was 3 years old.Yes, it has a radio, BUT you have to BUY a headset to be able to listen....rip off!
2-0 out of 5 stars Good service, bad phone

1-0 out of 5 stars BUYER BEWARE - Be Very Aware!
I will keep this review brief because every other review points out all of the very good, and very valid features of the 2125. In fact, I agree with just about every positive comment ever made - this is the best phone I have ever owned. EXCEPT FOR ONE VERY MAJOR DESIGN FLAW: When the keys are locked, two buttons remain active on the phone: The ANSWER key and the IGNORE key. These are the two soft buttons just under the screen. The problem is that these are the two highest buttons on the phone. So when a call comes in and the phone is in your pocket or in the included case, you inevitably end up pushing one of these two buttons in the process of trying to get it out of your pocket or out of the case. That means that the phone is not really locked at all! In fact, you almost always end up answering a call before you can even see who is calling. I have even unknowingly answered calls while the phone was still in its case! This translates into people hearing your private conversations without you even knowing that they are on the line.
5-0 out of 5 stars Great phone with great media features!
The Cingular 2125 is a Windows Mobile 2005 (WM5) Smartphone with Windows Media Player 10 and an excellent QVGA (240x320) screen. If you have Windows Media Player you can easily sync music and videos to the phone, if you have a Windows Media Center then you can sync television and movies which is handy for long flights. The phone supports "Flight Mode" which turns off the phone portion making it okay to use on a plane. This has been one of teh best phones I've owned, the email push works great if your company uses an Microsoft Exchange server, not as good but works very well is any POP3/SMTP server.
5-0 out of 5 stars Power button problem is now fixed.
I purchased this phone on July 1st. I was afraid the power button be hard to press, push, pull down or whatever, since I read many reviews complaining about it. When I checked with a store, it was really hard to. Despite that fact, I decided to purchase it and found it the power button is now changed!!!!

2-0 out of 5 stars God I wish it worked better
This is a sleek little phone that I wish so very much would work better.I had it for two weeks. Most of the time it worked fine, however, sometimes I would go to pick it up off the counter where it had been sitting for hours and it would give me an error if I tried to push any buttons or make any calls. It would need to be restarted before it stopped doing this.Other times the screen would just go bright white and stay that way until I powered down the phone.
1-0 out of 5 stars I HATE THIS PHONE!!!!
After going through 2 Razr phones T-mobile offered me this phone as a replacement and I took it cause my warranty on the Razr was almost up and I would get a year warrenty with the T509... you couldn't PAY me enough to keep this phone for an entire year!

Editorial Review

Motorola's PEBL U6 is the second model in Motorola's high-end "four-letter word" line, following the super popular RAZR V3. The PEBL takes some of the same materials and technologies used in the RAZR and packages them into a completely different kind of clamshell handset. While the RAZR is all about thin, sharp angles, the PEBL is more about design, making use of soft curves and smooth lines throughout.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not a particularly good phone for just making phone calls
I'm pretty disappointed in this phone. It's got poor battery life, and a complicated and buggy interface. It's also very large and bulky. Beyond that, the thing that annoys me most is that there doesn't seem to be any way to have it lock the keypad automatically after some idle period. The end result of that is that I forget to manually lock the keypad and it sits there beeping quietly in my pocket until the battery runs out or it calls a random person from my address book.
5-0 out of 5 stars My new freedom.....
This phone is stellar. Look around. All you see are RAZRs. RAZRs everywhere.
5-0 out of 5 stars NOKIA rocks!!
I've owned a couple MOTOROLAbefore and have to admit they do have cool-looking phones. They look so fashionable, stylish, and making you feel young. But...the only thing I hate is they dropped my calls a lot. I mean...A LOT! My calls would be just disconnected unreasonable when I only talked on my phone about 10-15mins. Sometimes even 5 mins!

Disclaimer: This review only pertains to the Cingular version.A friend of mine has Verizon's and none of these criticisms apply; it's like a completely different phone.
2-0 out of 5 stars Cool look, but that's about it
After all the hype, I decided to get a Razr. I was surprised that it wasn't cooler. I'm not sure what I expected it to do, but it's a phone, not a super hero.
5-0 out of 5 stars SIMPLY THE BEST
This is simply the best cellphone I have ever seen.It was a Father's Day gift for my son, and he is in love with the phone! When he lets me use the phone, I have been amazed. The speakerphone and ringer are so loud that I had to turn them down.I live in Miami, and my phone needed one of those universal antenna to get 3 or 4 bars signal. The RAZR gets 4 or 5 bars signal almost everytime, and I never lost a call or the signal anywhere. The phone is so slim that I have forgotten it was in my pocket, and it is going to take him months to learn ALL of its features! There are so many accessories, games and services for the V3 RAZR that I feel lucky for my son to have one WITHOUT having yet another monthly bill.Simply amazing phone... ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Disappointment
One of the reasons I bought this phone was for the MP3 player. That was a mistake. After loading the player with music on a micro SD card, the player freezes after playing just one song and it has to be restarted. Also, the information about the song, (such astitle and genre) does not fully load.I have spent a lot of time tagging my music so it was frustrating when the player showed tagged songs as "unknown".Also, the player automatically loads up the "sprint store" every time you want to play music, which becomes annoying after a while.Funny, the features to buy music work great.Guess the priorities are clear.
5-0 out of 5 stars Nice phone.BUT you can't buy a battery for it anywhere!!!
Everything about this phone is great.Well, the FM feature is weak. The thing that really worries me is you can't buy another battery for it anywhere. What happens when the battery dies?

5-0 out of 5 stars Great phone
When I bought this phone recently, the Sprint salesman said, "the only thing that this phone can't do is fly."He's right.

4-0 out of 5 stars Decent phone
Overall this has been a good phone.I love the size and weight of the phone.I have had it for about a month now.I have had a couple things that I have not been as happy with. When a get a busy line, I most times get no busy signal at all or occassionally I get about three beeps that are barely audible. The caller busy display only stays up a couple seconds and is gone by the time I take the phone off my ear and it returns to the original screen. Many times I am unsure if my call has even gone through and I have to redial and look at my screen to see what is going on.At first, I thought it was dropping my calls.I have had a little trouble hearing people that I could hear perfectly fine on my last phone.Other than those two main problems, I would recommend this phone.

3-0 out of 5 stars NOT a slimmer version of the Motorola V551
I just got the C417 two days ago to replace a Motorola V551 I had that was dying on me.
4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent basic phone -- nice design, flawed software implementation
This is a well-designed basic phone that rivals the very popular RAZR in its slimline aesthetics at a fraction of the cost. The large (relative to the phone size) screen is bright and clear, keys are big and responsive. Reception has been excellent and sound quality crystal clear. The camera is a solid, workmanlike VGA tool that is easy to use. There is an instant messaging client (supports either Yahoo or AOL IM) and web browser, but no native email client. (You can set up the browser to access web-based email, though.)

3-0 out of 5 stars Poor reception and sound quality
I had this phone not even for a full day and am returning it. Although its a great lightweight phone with a camera and flash, 95% of my calls had an echo and when the echo was not there the sound from both ends was muffled and distorted. Hubby has same phone and has same issues. I have had Verizon Wireless for 9+ years and find their service great..... with my old phone so I'm not buying anything new right now just sticking with what works. I would have given it less than 1 star but all the other features made for a nice phone and reception may be different for others.

5-0 out of 5 stars Highly functional phone without the extra fluff (long review with updated comments)
I was due for a New Every 2 upgrade with VerizonWireless and was interested in replacing my old LG VX4400 with a bluetooth phone (for wireless communication and connectivity).Being a bit oldschool, I do not care about video and music playback on my phone. As I often travel through areas with weak digital signal, I wanted to keep with a trimode phone for the analog fallback option. The two trimode bluetooth phones currently available for VZW were the LG VX5300 and the Samsung A870.As I had good luck with my previous LG phones, I decided to go with the VX5300.I got one for myself and another for my mom (replacing her old LG TM510).
