Phancy Phenomenal Phabulous Petite Pink Phone
First of all, pink just makes a Mamalinde happy.After spending WAY too much time on the phone with Cingular in a long and drawn out "upgrade" request and after being promised the phone twice and having it not shipped as promised, I had about reached the point of switching carriers and stopping the torture.But, I finally got my phancy pink phone and it was worth the wait.Where to start?How about with one thing at a time, which is how I managed the learning curve on this pheature laden phone

Excellent consumer smartphone
I replaced a phone and a PDA with the Q and have been pretty happy since. The display is sharp, so I'm not finding the smaller size a problem, and the qwerty keyboard is a whole different world from on-screen keyboards and a stylus. It is a little sluggish compared to my iPAQ, but still very useable.
Previous owner of an SMT-5600, really didn't like the "Q"
I've had a Smartphone for about two years, so I'm not one of those people who didn't like the "Q" because I expected PocketPC features on it.I switched from Cingular to Verizon for service reasons, and the Q seemed like the closest phone to the Audiovox SMT-5600 that I had and liked.It was definitely wider, but thinner, which seemed like a reasonable tradeoff.

A very good PDA/phone with some minor annoying defects
I love that phone. This is a highly customize and flexible device, I totally recommend it to anyone who has a busy schedule and doesn't mind a big phone.Phone function works great, although it takes some time to adjust to it's big size. I was using small flip phones prior getting Treo 650.Battery life is great, it can go easy 2-3 days without charging. Bluetooth surprisingly doesn't eat up battery. Earpiece works really well, I don't like that earpiece jack isn't standard. The display is very bright, and sharp. The camera pictures quality sucks, but who really uses phone-camera to take photos?:)Users should install the latest Palm os patch to fix up resetting, battery life, and other problems. I find it annoying that thequick-shortcut buttons are not protected by keylock.Also, there is no multilingual support available unless third-party application is installed. The PDA reset a few times on me, but have installed quite a few third party applications on it.

bad on all counts
The email doesn't work. Especially ridiculous with Gmail. The device crashes a lot and resets. The people at Cingular don't know how to fix it (although someone in the data support department admitted aloud that the 650 is NOT compatible with Gmail -- no one in the customer service or warranties department will admit it), and Cingular is perfectly willing to send you new devices to replace the "faulty" device under the manufacturer's warranty -- and with each replacement device that works as poorly as the previous one, Cingular is still unwilling to admit that the device is a problem. Unwilling to simply get you onto another device. Unwilling to admit that the phone is incapable of actually doing what it is supposed to do. As frustrated as I've ever been with a cell phone company -- I have never been as infuriated with both a provider and a manufacturer.

RUN AWAY - this product defines caveat emptor!
I do not review things, and I have an extremely high level of tolerance for product functioning.Nevertheless, I am so fed up with my palmOne Treo 650 (which I have owned for a year), that I have called Verizon today, complained to Palm, joined a class action, and reactiviated my several year-old flip phone that has water damage.Yes - my water damaged, cheap LG phone functions better than my palm treo.

very impressed
When my family switched to verizon wireless, I did extensive research to find the right phone.because we bought through shockcity, my choices were pretty limited. in the end, i settled on this phone.
Easy to Get Used To
I've had my Chocolate for 3 days and I love it!!Within 15 minutes of receiving it I had set up my contacts and had my kids' picture set as my wallpaper.I purchased the music essentials kit and have been using the mp3 player for two days.The sound quality is great, and I had no problem getting the music from Windows Media onto the phone.I don't think the touch sensitivity is hard to get used to.I don't see how it could place a call when it's in your pocket since you would either have to slide it open or hit the side button twice for it to come out of sleep mode.I am NOT a cell phone "junkie".I had a basic Samsung phone before I purchased the Chocolate and swore I had no use for a camera phone or any of the other "extras" that come with phones today.The Chocolate has spoiled me, and has opened my eyes to what I have been missing!!!I'm like a kid with a new toy!!!

Its very sensitive.. even at the lowest setting!
This phone is very touch sensitive even when I put it at the lowest setting. I apparently called my wife and left her a long 10 minute voicemail because the phone was in my pocket while driving to school. Also, its not too durable. My SD slot cover broke within the first 3 days I purchased it. If you want music, get an Ipod that will hold 30Gb instead of paying for the music kit for an extra $100. ... Read more

Blue Razor
I got a wonderful deal through Amazon and Cingular.Getting a Razor for one cent was terrific and I love my new phone!

Reception problems
I ordered a black and blue razr phone thinking there was absolutely no difference between the two except for color.My wife's phone, the black razr, has excellent reception.In contrast, the blue razr, has little to no reception.I exchanged it for another blue razr and discovered the same problem.Irritated and frustrated I decided to switch to the black razr thinking there might have been a manufacturing defect on the blue razr's.I received my black razr yesterday and voila the reception is far superior than the blue (which is supposedly the exact same phone).Of course my wife's phone still has better and consistent reception for some reason;Maybe because it is considered the primary phone it has better reception.My thinking is that if you wish to purchase a blue razr, you should wait a month or so before purchasing.Wait for those "defective" batches of blue razr's to be out of the system.Or, I just may have been an unlucky person to have gotten two defective blue phones in a row. ... Long Term Reliability
Bought this phone model back in December '05.Had to return it after a couple of days because it would turn itself off several times a day.But since then, it has turned out to be a most reliable and useable phone.
Good enough
Got this phone when it as -$50 with 1 year verizon contract, so far so good.
Poor service from Verizon
Verizon has had a lot of trouble porting the number from the old phone to this new one. Worked hours on phone with tech support to no avail. They still can't get the new one working and now the old one doesn't work because the number was porting. Very incompetent technical staff. ... Read more

The perfect PDA!
Lawdy lawdy - this is the best PDA I have ever had....I used to like Palm more than Windows-based PCs but this one is finally made the correct way....
Never received it !!!
I am giving it 3 stars because I am unable to rate the phone yet. I ordered it about a week back and was supposed to get it in 2 days. Amazon website kept saying that there is a delay in your order. I called them up and they said that they have not received an approval from Cingular. They were nice enough to upgrade the shipping to next day delivery upon receipt of approval. But apparently they never heard from Cingular and automatically cancelled the order.
Best yet but not perfect
I am upgrading from an audiovox smt5600 with the Windows mobile 3.0 operating system.I really like that it syncs with the outlook contacts and calendar.The windows mobile 5.0 OS is a real improvement. The keyboard works great and rotates the screen to landscape but I find that I rarely use it and input using the touchpad keyboard - so the extra weight and size are not necessary for me.The speaker phone is annoying to my callers so I stopped using it.I can cruise the internet using wireless but not too much fun on a 4" screen.Ditto working with word and excel files.Camera is disappointing.

Different pinks with different carriers
I recently got this phone and love it.T-mobile's service may not be the best, but I have had no problems with the phone itself.For all the people saying that it isn't really magenta-It is.The pink razr offered by Cingular is a pale pink, the t-mobile phone is the hot pink magenta shown.I looked at them at bestbuy before buying and saw that the different carriers have different shades.

Love the phone, hate the battery life!
Having had every new gadget imaginable I must report that I LOVE this phone because I can take pictures and make videos! I LOATHE having to charge the battery everyday! Perhaps I just got a bad battery but I've NEVER had to charge any phone daily. Keep in mind that I leave my phone on 24/7. Maybe I should turn it off. Does anyone else have this same syndrome?
HATED IT
I actually went through three of these phones.Each one that I had would just turn off in the middle of a call...not just drop the call I mean the phone shuts off! Then I would try and start it again, no go! So I had to take the battery out of the phone put it all back together and then restart it. Half of the time it would start and say invalid battery and I would start the entire process over again. I complained so much to Tmobile that they exchanged it for a Motorola V360 which has all the same features, except BETTER reception and an MP3 player.I wouldnt reccommend this phone to anyone....p.s. Love it - but wish it was better....
I have had a Razr phone for three years.During that time I confess I have gently dropped it at least three times and the phone always reboots and gets itself working again.However,yesterday, weeks after the last "drop", it seemed to be losing its durability.Out of the blue, the camera turned on and randomly started to take photos.When I turned it out of camera mode, it switched into the voice record memo menu and would not exit until I hit the end button.From there the keypad would not work.I went to a friend's house to call Cingular and they said they would send new "software" to the phone.It worked for the day, but last night, it started working in the same erratic fashion.I rebooted it and charged the battery and hope it works today.I am going to see if it acts up again, but pulled out my old samsung freebie which I saved in case I need to use a reliable phone.
IT BREAKS ALL THE TIME!!!
Ok, so I bought into the hype about the Razr when it first came out.Now, however, I HATE THIS PHONE.IT HAS CAUSED ME NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS.Due to the fact that it is so slim, the wires are super thin as well and constantly break.It costs a lot to fix, including a day off of work to travel the extensive distance to someone who knows how to fix it.Then I finally got fed up with the phone breaking and decided to buy a new one, a completely different brand, but Cingular said I wasn't ready for an "upgrade" so I had to pay full price!I got screwed... beware the Razr (and any Motorola products for that matter--their Blue Tooth headsets are no better!!!Even my boyfriend who works for Moto won't buy their products!)

Although this phone is thin and looks nice. I'm disappointed I bought it. It just doesn't work well. I agree with many of the negative reviews of this phone. Just right
I have resisted cell phones for years and years.In fact, I hated them.I finally gave in, and I got this Samsung b/c it was cheap without being suspiciously cheap (i.e. "free") and received a good review at CNet.I have to say, I have been very impressed.Yeah, I'm a rookie when it comes to these things, but I've been using telephones for a good long time.What I know is that between the Verizon reception in my area and the phone itself, I have call quality that is far superior to the setup I had for the last year and half on VOiP.Granted, VOiP perhaps just sucks, but I didn't think that in going cellular I would actually have better call quality.My brother used to hate talking to me for more than 20 minutes.With the samsung and verizon, we have far more enjoyable conversations.

Think twice about using Amazon
It would take too long to describe how bad my customer service experience has been with Amazon.Suffice to say if you have ANY problems with your order or service - count on it being YOUR problem and NOT Amazon's.There is no accountability for any problems you may have, but if you can accept that, the Treo 700w is a nice phone (with some limitations as described by the more tech savvy) - however, in my opinion NO PHONE is worth the amount of time and aggravation I have spent dealing with [...].Go directly to the wireless provider and ditch the middle man.com.

A major disappointment..clumsy, clumsy, clumsy
If you're a former Blackberry user, like me, you'll likely hate this phone.If you're a former Palm PDA user, you'll hate this as a PDA (and probably as a phone as well).My company recently switched from the Blackberry platform to Windows Mobile.For secrity reasons, the only device initially approved for use on the WM platform is the Treo 700W, so I had no choice but to go with this dog.It tries to do everything but ends up doing nothing well.My review will focus on a comparison with the Blackberry platform (I was using a 7290).
Pure Garbage!
I am a big fan of the concept of the PDA and rely heavily on technology in my business to stay in touch with the office. I had the Treo 650 and had issues with software bugs that tended to lock it up regularly (even after several replacement phones). With the release of the 700w, I thought surely the manufacturer has perfected the phone, and with a Windows platform, I can't go wrong.I WAS WRONG! In a nutshell (even after several replacement phones, hours talking to tech support, and a move to an enterprise server): Constant lock-ups, faulty syncs, and just bad-overpriced technology. Palm preys on the "techy" that wants the newest thing.10 of my colleagues are having the same experience. Verizon is not to blame - when I get a connection, the clarity is excellent. I do not ever write these reviews, but anything I can do to dissuade someone from buying this PDA is my good deed for the day. ... Read more

Good phone with a couple drawbacks
First off, this phone is very thin and light. It is hardly noticeable in my pocket and has a cool design. I have tried the 1.3 megapixel camera and am pleased with how it functions in comparrison to my previous phone the Motorola V360. The calls seem clear, the signal is strong and it has been pretty reliable.
Thin and Lightweight
I upgraded from my Motorola V180 to this camera phone because I upgraded my plan to have the myfaves feature. My review is a little comparison to my old phone considering this is my first Samsung phone.
A sleek improvement on the T609, but... where's microSD?

This is by far the worst phone i have ever owned
Where to begin...
Great Phone
Does everything it is supposed to.I had no problem transferring two accounts from Verizon to the T-Mobile PEBLs I purchased from Amazon.Bluetooth works great with a bluetooth hands free wired-in car kit I had installed.

Had to return this phone
I made the mistake of accepting the Motorola PEBL when my mobile phone contract was renewed a few months ago and I was up for a new phone. The sales person assured me this was the best phone, latest model, etc etc.Two weeks later I had to go back to the telephone company and return the phone: the bluetooth feature wasn't working, I could not pick my voice mail, it would ring sometimes and sometimes not, and when they transferred the contacts from the old phone to this one, they lost half of my numbers. It is the worst phone I have ever owned. After that, I found out other people I knew had had the same problems with the PEBL and had to return it also. I've had the 7130c for almost a week now, hands down it is a great phone! Now this is not a predominately PDA that just happens to be a phone.This is a phone with a great organization and email package implemented in it. I mention that because this should not be compared to a Palm Treo or even the Cingulr 8125. This phone is what I would say the bridge between the regular cell phones and perhaps the more PDA-centric phones out on the market.
Excellent all around phone
For three months, i researched and researched and researched tons of phones looking for the perfect one.The one thing that i was looking for was a phone that had a loud volume and excellent call quality.I was so frustrated with other phones (razr, treo, nokia) that threw in a crappy camera and mp3 player at the expense of sound quality and volume, which is what a phone is supposed to be for in the first place.The 7130c has the best sound quality that i have ever heard, it has barely ever dropped a call and i can hear everything in crystal clear detail.The menus and interent browsing are extremely organised, fast, and uncluttered, another thing that frsutrated be immensly with other phones.The internet is very fast, the ringtones sound great, and basically the whole phone is flawless.The only minor things that can be frustrating is sometimes the phone feels somewhat cheaply made, creaks a little bit, but not too much, and only sometimes.Another thing is that you cant do to much with attachments in media sources, such as video.To get pictures on your device, you must email them in the correct pixel format which can be a pain.Also, the backlight has three stages or automatic which adjusts to the light, but it can only default to the 2nd stage and i wish it could go to 3rd because it looks better.you have to press the backlight button to go to third stage.Besides those minor flaws, this phone is the best phone you will ever purchase and i highly recommend it.

Save Your Money
While the phone itself performs well, the blackberry sync to other internet accounts does not. I have had three phones with the same problem.

Great, but quirky
This is a great but quirky phone. I need a cell phone, not a PDA with a hole on the top where your ear is supposed to somehow fit, and a hole on the bottom that picks up noise better than your voice.

Nice Phone but don't expect the rebate!
Pros:
My first month
I have used PalmOS before, so this phone does not feel too new. The phone works pretty well. The PDA is good. I'd give the phone 4 stars. The PDA part a bit less say 3.5 stars since the stuff is a bit dated (PALM OS).
Make this excellent device even better
The Treo 700 is a great device. It combines cellular phone, PDA, and wireless functionality, allowing you to check e-mail, surf the web, make phone calls, and keep your contacts and calendar.

Needs Improvement
I would like to consider this phone a work in progress and hope that they make improvements. Everyone that I know that has this phone has had their share of issues with the phone and I have had mine as well. Not as bad as everyone elses, but increasingly worse. Before I go into details about the issues I first want to say that I really love this phone, I just wish it was more reliable. It IS a little bulkier than a lot of other phones out there, but it's not TOO bad. It's no RAZR, however I find that to be a good thing because the RAZR feels like it's going to break if I open it too fast (my mom and sister recently got RAZRs). Anyway back to The V. I like the QWERTY keyboard but I rarely use it. It was cool at first but most heavy texters are familiar with T9 (the one that automatically figures out what you're saying as you type it). I've found that to be much faster than using the little keyboard and much more safer to use while driving.

I got this phone because I used to have a Nokia 6810 that folded out a complete QWERTY keyboard.I grew attached to it, and it was really hard to find another phone with qwerty keyboard that wasn't a whole blackberry device.Also, this phone is comparable in size to the 6810.I had feared it would be huge, but it packs a lot in a little space.It's no razr, and it isn't something you'd wear around your neck or anything -- but it isn't like hauling a PDA around, either.
withstands the worst and keeps on ticking
The reason I write this review is not for all the great features this phone has (and it has alot) but for its amazing durability.I have done everything to this phone besides run it over with a car and it still works as well as the first day I got it.Being the clumsy person I am, I have dropped this phone on numerous occasions and like most phones nothing happens.On two occasions though, I have been walking up the second flight of stairs to my third floor apartment and dropped my phone.After falling, hitting the 1st set of stairs, bouncing through and hitting the 2nd set of stairs, bouncing again and finally hitting the pavement below, the only sign that this occured were a few scratches on the sides - all functions still worked perfectly.Also, just recently I dropped my phone in water.It was completely submerged for 5-10 seconds before I could get to it.Something similar happened to my husband's last phone and it never worked the same again.After I dried the phone, took apart what I could (such as removing the battery, chip etc) and left it to dry for 3-4 hours, it had only a minor glitch with recharging the battery but even this spontaneously fixed itself within 24 hours.

Complete Review
The I-870 from Nextel can be a tricky phone to get working. With that said once you get it working, it does a very good job of being a Phone, Camera, Video and MP3 player, all in one. As a phone it works great, compared to other cellular phones, it's a bit heavy but if your a nextel user your already use to that. As a camera, it is up to par with any other camera phone on the market, better than most models I tried. As a video player, again it's up to par with any other video/phone on the market. As far as the MP3 player goes, the sound is good for a phone/MP3 player but this is not an IPOD. Most reviews I read, users stated they had difficulty getting songs onto the phone. The micro SD card included with the unit can only hold 5 or 6 songs. You will probably want to get a bigger micro card, otherwise why even use the MP3 player. I would suggest a 512mb card that will hold 100 songs or more. Here is how I got my MP3's onto the phone. I tried the included software but got no where when I tried to load more than 10 songs onto my 512MB card and get them to play on the I-870. I did find some easy software that works, "DB Power AMP converter". First you must format the card inside your phone it will be an option in the menu on your phone under the media tab. Once you have downloaded the DB software to your computer, it will ask you to select the songs on disc or on your computer that you want converted. You then select all the songs you want to put onto your phone. Now that you have selected all your songs, you must make sure the file name (Artist and Song name) are no longer than 19 characters total(you will have to rename the tracks or artist titles to make them fit, otherwise they will not show up, or play on your I 870). Now convert them, with the following settings: MP3 Lame -> Bit rate 40KBps -> Frequency 16000 HZ -> output to your micro sd card -> convert. Once this process is complete, then take the micro SD card and put it in your phone, turn on your audio player and let the songs load. At this point your songs will all be on your phone and you will be able to play them. There is one problem here the songs were converted at very low speeds, so the quality sucks. To fix this go back and reformat the card inside your phone, it will erase all your files, which is needed. Now take the card out and put it back into your card reader, open up "DB Power Amp Converter" Take all the songs you previously converted and convert them again, this time use the following settings:MP3 Lame -> Bit rate 96KBps -> Frequency48000HZ -> output to your micro sd card -> convert. Take the card out and put it into your phone, select audio player, and all your songs will load and play with near CD quality. Don't ask me why you have to rename the files to make them 19 characters or less, and don't ask me why you have to convert all the files at a low quality/frequency load them to your phone, then re convert them at high quality/frequency, because I don't know, but it works. This process was a bit of a hassle for me, especially since I had to try a bunch of things to get this working, you just have to follow these instructions and you'll be up and running. Once I got the songs loaded, I play the audio player all the time, take alot of photos, use the video player, and talk on the phone daily with 0 problems.
