3-0 out of 5 stars Just Not For Me
I've had this phone for over a year and a half and I've really never had a problem with it.The reception varies but it's generally pretty reliable. My whole family uses it for work because of the walkie-talkie feature.
3-0 out of 5 stars Decent phone, but very dated
I had the Nextel i730 for 8 months then i just couldnt take it anymore. To be honest the phone is a easy phone to get attached to. But recently i upgrade to the i850 and iam very very happy i did. The i730 is a phone / radio. The color screen is on par with all other free phones that are usually FREE. So basicly the screen is not impressive at all. The phone comes with features, but to be honest it took me about 2 months to figure out how to use all of them on,( NOT USER FRIENDLY AT ALL) and by that time i had lost faith in the phone itself. It's heavy, very heavy, and thick. On the good side, it' sorta stylish and its very durable, this is what i loved about it. I dropped the phone so many times and it has very little exterior damage. I look at this phone like, a army tank, versus my newer i850 which i just upgraded to, and thats more like a convertable BMW. The i850 is a phone that you just have to have a leather case on it, because it looks so good, that you dont wanna risk it gettings scratched, this on the other hand, there's no need to case it, because the exterior is that solid. I'm a 23 year old male out of atlanta ga. As far as reception, the calls on the i730 are very clear, the speaker phone is awesome, you can almost set the phone in one room and talk at a leisure tone on the other side of the room and the caller will hear you fine, which is cool. But to be honest i can only say this phone would fit someone who is not looking for alot bells and whistles, Not a person between the ages of 16-21, bad idea. This phone is for people who want a phone that can handle just about anything, ie construction worker. Another good thing about this phone is it'is nearly impossible to lose, due to its weight. When you have the i730 on the hip swivle thing, it feels like you've got a gun on ur hip, or a flash light, its that heavy. Plus with it being 2006 and all, this phone is getting very dated, by the end of the year this phone is going to be classified as a dinosaur. If you can get it for free, go for it, but if your paying money, trust me, dish out a few extra bucks and go with the i850, the i850 is the honest to god best cell phone ive ever owned, and ive had 15+ cells.

1-0 out of 5 stars Two cans and some string?
Throughout my ownership of 2 different handsets, both model i730 (t), I would constantly be aggravated by the slow response of the phone. Everything from making phone calls, to sending a text message, to checking the sports scores or weather, is run from a Java program. This means that sending of commands from the buttons to the application is extremely delayed. This delay only gets worse as the day goes on, and I am usually forced to restart the phone 2 or 3 times a day.

2-0 out of 5 stars Worst phone I have ever used
I have this phone for about 9 months now, within 3 months it's talk time is reduced to just about half an hour. I contacted its career Verizon Wireless and complained about it, they wouldn't replace it for free. I have contacted LG about it, they would replace only if I send the battery to them and they determine it is bad. I am dissapointed by this phone as well as by Verizon Wireless. I have had enough of it, I will replace both when my contract is over.

1-0 out of 5 stars Nightmare.
Since I bought it 10 months ago my LG VX4650 has become completely useless. At month 3 it lost it's ability to ring with the vibrator, at month 4 I had to replace its battery, and at month 10 it will not pick up or emmit any noise.

2-0 out of 5 stars Do not buy this phone!!
I got this phone and was so excited. It worked great for the first 4 months and then the reception started going bad, and the battery wouldn't even charge the phone right.I would stick the charger in a three minutes later it would say it was charged and then within three minutes of talk time the phone would just die. I had to keep the charger plugged in just to talk to people. It must be some kind of defect, but I wasn't sure if it was the phone or the battery.Anyway, I don't not recommend this phone. ... We use Tracfone at our house because our cell is for emergencies and limited calling. The phone is nice and so far I have not experienced any problems. For those of us who don't use our cell phones like a landline, tracfone is the perfect solution. The most common complaint with Tracfone is their customer service but I have found that if you are persistent they are generally quite helpful. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Problem Phone
I am currently on my third unit. The first two phones were defective and replaced under warranty. First unit the top center screen pivot let loose upon answering a call and the entire top flew off the phone. The second unit kept turning the camera on anytime it wanted to. I agree 100% with the camera problem. Pictures are fuzzy and colors are washed out. Other than the camera problem, this phone is fun to use. The MP3 player sounds great/bluetooth easy to use as well as the rest of the phone functions. Its a shame the camera was not designed properly.

5-0 out of 5 stars One Great Phone
I haven't had this phone for a very long time but I can say for sure that this is a great phone.I didn't find this phone bulky at all.I just started a new two year contract with Verizon. My previous phone was bulky and didn't do nearly what this new phone does.I'm actually upset at the people who are complaining about the size of this phone.Think about what this phone does. Its a great phone with many features that you can't find anywhere else.People are amazed when they see it and are even more surprised when they see what it can do.It takes great pics. The internet service...web 2.0 is fast and I love the MP3 player.I picked up a memory card for $30.00 and a headset for $13.00 which was a lot cheaper than what I expected to pay.Just today I was able to figure out how to hook up my phone to my car stereo system. The sound quality was amazing and to think I was doing this all with a cell phone blows my mind. This phone is a must have.

1-0 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE
The only reason I bought this phone was because it had the best camera available (2.0 Mega-pixel).The camera is horrible. It takes a blurry, off-colored picture EVERY time.I have tried all possible settings.Nothing helps.I am so mad I bought this.I know someone who owns the a950 and those pictures are phenomenal compared to the picture this camera takes!

1-0 out of 5 stars Garbage
This phone is junk. No way to erase a voicemail without listening to it, and one I have came in on a number no longer in use. No way to hold the unit without hitting the side buttons and changing settings accidently.
5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT PHONE
This is a great phone. Ive never had an LG before this and now Im blown away at the greatness of this phone. One its physically appealing, very easy to use. The only problem I have is not with the phone but with sprint. If you want to send pictures you now have to pay extra a month and the same if you want to use the voice regonition feature. But overall a great buy I highly recommend this phone.

4-0 out of 5 stars If you are clumbsy like me...this is your phone...
I have had this phone for about 6 months now and all together is has been great. I mean it dont have bluetooth but besides that its good. I have had so many hightech phones but end up dropping them and breaking them or finding them in my daughters purse in a million pieces. This phone i dont have that problem it is really made good. i have dropped it off my car going down the road and went back and got it and its fine..

1-0 out of 5 stars This Phone is Horrible!!!
I got this phone in January, and I had to take it back the day I got it because it kept losing service and dropping calls. They gave me a new one thinking that it was just that phone... but it wasn't.The one I have now isn't as bad as the first one, but it still loses service and drops calls constantly.Don't buy this phone!

1-0 out of 5 stars Worst Phone.Stay away from LG C1500+Cingular
This has to be the worst phone I've ever owned.I thought Motorola StarTac (my very first phone) was bad, wait till use this phone.I have 4 LG C1500 phones in my family plan.2 works ok but the other two, where do I begin.First, it keeps complaining to insert sim card although it's inserted properly.Went to Cingular store got the new sim card, works ok for a day.Next day, same thing.Did this 3 times and had Cingular send me the replacement phones. Now one of the two doesn't complain about the sim card but occationally it says it's not in the network although it shows full bars. The other one still have problem with sim card.I just got the third replacement phone and now it seemed to be ok with sim card issue but can't talk more than a minute. It just drops a call in the middle of conversation.I now am trying to get a 4th replacement phone but not sure if they will issue it.I am under 2 year contract and still got 14 months to go, what a nightmare.... ... Here's Sanyo's answer to the RAZR revolution, the SCP-6600 "Katana," a phone that meets or beats many of the RAZR's specifications -- all at a lower price. This phone packs Bluetooth, a gorgeous QVGA color screen, a speakerphone, and a VGA camera. And of course, it's very thin and chic.Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Poor instructions
Just got my Katana today, and am unhappy at the moment. The instruction manual is poor.I am trying to download ringtones, but the manual only gives instructions for Sprint's rip-off ringtones that only last 90 days.I can't figure out how to get it to work with other sites and the instruction manual doesn't give a hint. The preloaded rings are awful.
4-0 out of 5 stars Great phone for the casual user
I bought this phone to replace my 2 1/2-year old Samsung Vi660. I've been a big fan of the Samsung line, and thought about buying their comparable version to the Katana (the A900) but the reviews of the Katana's superior battery life won me over.I am not much for the fancy features of cell phones - I just wanted a slimmer phone that had a lower radiation emissions level than the Vi660, a built-in speakerphone, and bluetooth connectivity. After using the phone for a few weeks, here are my impressions so far:
3-0 out of 5 stars Katana Blue
I've been a sprint customer for over three years and have owned three sanyo phones; Sanyo 8100, Sanyo 8300, and the Kantana. If you're coming from a mulitimedia phone like the Sanyo 8300, the SCP-6600 Katana may be a bit of a disappointment to you. The Katana just doesn't have all of the bells and whistles as a multimedia phone. The Katana has no built in flash which is needed for taking half decent pictures with a camera phone. It also has no camcorder or media player. But then again its not suppose to. It's basically an attempt by sprint and Sanyo to satisfy the consumer cravings for the popular RAZR phones that are available through wireless carriers like Cingular, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, Cricket and a few others. It's obvious by looking at the Katana that it was inspire by the Razr, which does not have MM functions either. On a feature note I would have to give the Katana a one besides doing the simple things like making phone calls and downloading ringers and screen savers there's just not much more you can do on it. Aesthetically the Katana is not that much of a beaut. However, it is for the time being a bit different looking so for (except when compared to the RAZR) that I'd give it a four. For the lack of a decent camera and camcorder I have to deduct two more points which brings rating down to three stars. Oh for those of you who are interested in bluetooth the phone is bluetooth capable. After looking at the Black, Pink and Blue Kantana phone I decided to get the pink. I like the way the blue looked over the internet but in person it was just too "loud" for my taste. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT Product! I have peace of mind that my daughter is okay.
GREAT Product! I have peace of mind that my 5 year old daughter can call me at anytime. Her phone allows me to track her location from a computer or my cell phone. LOVE IT!If the bus is late at dropping the kids off, I call her Or best of all track her with the Chaperone feature right from my cell phone. Chaperone is the best thing they ever came out with for knowing where your children are at all times. The Chaperone system works fine. Not perfect but, is good enough till the system improves on exact locations. Right now it only gives you around a location address with map which is good enough for now. The phone connection is very good and never drops.

4-0 out of 5 stars A Great Phone For Younger Kids
I am 12 and I recieved this phone as a gift almost 8 months ago. I thought it was really cool at first. But the design of the phone is a little toy-like and there aren't many cases or skins for the phone. I think the firefly has a much cuter design. It's a great way to stay in touch with your parents and, unlike other kids phones, you can have up to 4 numbers instead of 2. To call other people you have to punch in a pin number, which is kind of a pain. All in all the Migo is a great phone for 7-10 year old kids. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Get a free unlocked Motorola RAZR v3i instead!
Why settle for less, or commit yourself to a specific cellular provider and service plan, when you can get a complimentary unlocked top of the line Motorola RAZR v3i cell phone that works with any cellular service provider and any SIM card. I got mine free at this web site:ilikethis.info/razrv3i

1-0 out of 5 stars Warranty? What warranty?
I had been very happy with my Motorola phone until the battery started losing its charge within a day, even when the phone was turned off. The friendly but incompetent customer support kept me on the phone for an average of 40 minutes for the repeated calls trying to figure out the problem. After the phone had finally been sent to their technical service center, they returned it to me that the phone was irreperable "due to customer abuse." I have done nothing to that phone that could have caused any damage (unless using it to make phone calls counts as "customer abuse"), but got the same comment, without explanation after I had sent the phone in for a second time for reevaluation. It seems that Motorola is just trying to get out of fixing or replacing the phone free of charge under warranty. You'll be fine with a Motorola phone as long as it works. After that, you're on your own.

3-0 out of 5 stars DOES NOT HAVE "DIRECT TALK", only "Direct Connect"
You should know that the description Amazon offers regarding the features for the i605 is incorrect in that the i605 only has the Direct Connect function (walkie-talkie-like service through the wireless phone network) but DOES NOT have the Direct Talk function (true walkie-talkie service direct handset to handset, even in areas where there is no Nextel signal).

I got rid of the bulky i355s at the end of our contract and bought two of these for our account. We had to return the first phone (line1) within days of getting it as it would randomly shut off (crash), and other times the volume would fluctuate on its own.Exchanging it was an ordeal with Sprint - they charged me for the replacement phone and still haven't credited my account after two billing cycles.A few months later and now the second phone (line2) is crashing.I'll make a call and hang up - and it shuts off.Other times it will shut off in the middle of the call. The other night I went to charge it and it said invalid battery - so I took the battery out and put it back in.Then it said "invalid charger."I might go back to the i355, it was rugged, reliable (but large) phone.I guess I'll have to haggle with Motorola about getting this one fixed/replaced.
