4-0 out of 5 stars Great deck. Some qualms.
Excellent quality playing cards. Sturdy & smooth. Cool camouflage backing, too.

Main qualm: 11 of the 52 cards (25%) don't have photos, but rather blackened "no photo available" images. Kinda disappointing.

Note: My first deck was INCOMPLETE...no heart cards! (Amazon quickly replaced that defective deck). So, check your deck when it arrives.

3-0 out of 5 stars A novelty that will soon wear thin
I notice some people refer to these cards as "collectors items"; I will only note that when a few million of an item have been produced , there isn't really that much collectable value! Sure, in 25 years they'll be a collectable novelty, and in 100 years, a fairly rare collectable on a par with a set of World War II ration cards, which is to say they'll be worth about $10 and you'll be dead ;-)

As the war drags on and people continue to die, these cards don't seem to have quite the amusement value they did a few months ago. I wouldn't be surprised if sales are way down.

5-0 out of 5 stars A good deck of cards
These cards are a great idea! They are printed on Real card stock. Just like cards used in Vegas at the casinos! The printing is clear. Don't be fooled by counterfeit sets. They won't hold the same value as these authentic card sets.
They are a real piece of Americana and are a novel piece in the battle of effective propaganda.
During ALL wars in the past, both sides of a confrontation spent a lot of effort making fun of the enemy. It helped to keep up morale, in the field and on the home front, etc. The card set is a unique.

5-0 out of 5 stars excellent
I have most of their titles-the best poker advice backed up with easy to understand examples. contains the least amount of dubious advice of any poker text. this book will make a difference to your bankroll. No matter how good a player you are you are a clueless newbie until you read this text. Once caveat: Keep in mind that in general their advice is directed towards your playing in a game with tight aggressive skilled players. These authors no longer play in low limit games and to some extent have lost touch with the type of player the low limit playing reader faces. You should find another title to read that addresses games with loose bad players in it so as to obtain a proper strategic approach to all situations. A good poker book teaches you how to think about situations more so than what to do in specific situation.Any text by the team of skylansky malmouth is worth it's weight in gold. Look for a revision of some of their classic texts, subtitled- "year 2000 or 20c. update"?

4-0 out of 5 stars great Stuff
This was a very Enjoyable Book. It provided important and useful concepts about the game of Poker. I learned new concepts, which identified some leaks in my game. Leaks in your game can come from anywhere!!! Leaks can originate from lack of aggression, overcalling raises, misreading opponents and any other number of ways. So this book helps. Many people look at poker the wrong way. They think to win they need to do all of this super fancy plays and mindblowing stunts. Well folks...there are not that many options in poker...you fold, call or raise. So its really hard to do thinks that will just fool your opponents all the time. To win at poker it is mostly limiting your mistakes and getting all that you can from winning hands and minimizing losses on losing hands...that's it

Ive been playing for about 5 years now and love the game. Ive read many poker books and found this one to be very good. So I would suggest you buy this book and maybe a couple others and get to playing. There's really no excuse anymore - since anyone can access the internet. (...)

5-0 out of 5 stars This book worked well for me
sklansky is an excellent teacher. This booked helped my game very much and I encourage you all to buy this book and read it. It is important to pick up the basic and advanced concepts of poker to be able to get decent and make money at poker. I have done so and currently play online. You can too, and also you can try it out online with play money. I have tried other places, but party poker is the best.

    Editorial Review

Street Style headphones, cool color, and fabulous features make the DEJ360 PSYC CD Walkman a pleasure to look at and to listen to. Skip-Free G-Protection technology boosts the laser pickup's shock protection to minimize read errors that would otherwise interrupt music, providing quick recovery from both horizontal and vertical shocks.

The player delivers 40 hours of playback on two AA batteries (not included) bolstered by Sony's two-position automatic volume limiter system (AVLS), which conserves batteries and guards hearing by capping listening level. Eight playback modes include shuffle, program play, and repeat play, and handy bookmark playback lets you program favorite songs from multiple CDs and play them back at the touch of a button. Other features include a heat-resistant lid for durable outdoor use, audio CD-R/CD-RW playback, and Digital Mega Bass sound for heavy-duty low-end reinforcement. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars A little flawed...
I bought a red PSYCH model for my sister, and 2 months after, a blue one for myself. It worked fine, no skipping, or whatever, but now (4 months after), the cd player tends to skip when I'm walking, or in a lot of cases, it just stops playing music alltogether. Now this is very annoying. The machine has suffered NO physical damages (falls, punches due to frustration, etc), and it repeatedly stops playing. I am forced to press stop, and press play again to resume playing music. Furthermore, even my sister's CD Player stops playing randomly, so it's not a freak problem thats only applicable to my CD player.

Other then that BIG problem, there are no other troubles. I had an excellent Sony CD Player that I bought 2 years ago (don't recall the model, but it cost me $80, and was circular), that survived tons of beatings, and innumerable throws at a wall, and it stll played flawlessly (Until I smashed it on concret due to a scratched cd not playing properly)

This Psych model is flawed, from my experience, but for $50, it's not all that bad. I suggest paying an extra $30 and getting a more superior Sony model, because everyone and their grandmother is using the Psych models now, and more expensive models are sure not to have the problems that mine does.

5-0 out of 5 stars AWESOME
This cd player is awesome sony is the best. my old cd player was well.. old it was at least 4 years old. and i had bought new koss behind the neck phones and they broke so i decided to get this cd player for my birthday and i did and its awesome the sound is awesome it doesnt malfunction and the headphones are they best

1-0 out of 5 stars Sony is nice, but don't buy this one
After having a Sony Walkman for 6 years, I finally decided it was time for another. The Sony Walkman I had before has been through everything - it's been dropped, flipped over, shaken, travelled all over the country, and despite being completely abused and missing most of its external parts, it still plays beautifully. (It just looks ugly and the batteries fall out.) So, I decided to retire the 1998 Walkman and received this Psych for Christmas. Despite being a cool colour and having nice sound, after about 2 months the hold button broke. I should have returned it then since it was still under warranty, but I held onto it because I was out of the country. Soon after I got back (and after my 3-month warranty was up) the CD player stopped working completely. I think I might have accidently gently dropped and it fell a very short distance - a drop that should not have done any damage to any halfway decent electronic - but it immediately stopped working and has never played again. The display scrolls through the songs but the CD simply does not spin anymore. One time I got it to spin but it played only about 30 seconds of the first track of the cd before it quit. I've tried everything - changing the batteries, trying different discs, but nothing works. I had someone who is good w/ electronics check it out but they couldn't find anything wrong and suggested I try a lens cleaner. I almost bought one of those $10 lens cleaners but after reading the reviews on here it looks like I shouldn't even try. I don't know why Sony made this poor product. I vowed never to buy another Sony CD player, despite my positive experience with my 1998 Walkman, until today when I found another model at a reasonable price. Maybe I'll try that one. Just don't make the mistake of buying this model. ... Read more

Canon PowerShot S400 4MP Digital Camera w/ 3x Optical Zoom
    by Canon Cameras US
Average Customer Review: 4.51 out of 5 stars
    list price: $449.99
US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France

    Editorial Review

Canon's PowerShot range of cameras has always been strong, and the PowerShot 400 continues that tradition. The 4 Megapixel Canon PowerShot S400 digital camera is capable of taking still images at 2,272 x 1,704 pixels--enough for a good quality A4 print. Resolutions go down to 640 x 480 for images you might only want to look at digitally. You can also capture video at 320 x 240 and 160 x 120 pixels.

The camera is very small indeed--smaller than earlier PowerShot models, and is easily pocket sized. There is what at first might seem a bewildering array of buttons around the casing, but in fact these provide excellent one-button-press access to most of the most used features, such as the 3x optical zoom which goes up to 11x when combined with digital zoom features, the macro mode, settings for the flash and self timer. For more advanced features like changing the shutter speed, which it is great to be able to do on a digital camera; you do need to delve into the LED a little further, though.

Images are stored on CompactFlash card--the largest image can be a couple of MB in size so you'll need to think big when it comes to CF card size with this camera. The battery is removable, and a spare to carry in the pocket might be a good idea.

Canon supplies a range of desktop software for viewing, editing and making use of your digital images. As with previous PowerShot cameras, one of the tools works with the Stitch Assist mode on the camera itself in the production of panorama shots. Digital cameras get more advanced all the time, but we dare to say that the PowerShot S400 is probably the best pocket sized digital camera we've seen. --Sandra Vogel, Amazon.co.uk ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Fast 4 megapixel wonder!
After extensive research on the web ...I chose to upgrade my Canon S20 to a Canon S400. In someways, this was a step down. Unfortunately, the S400 does not support verticle alignment of it's panoramic "stitch assist" mode as they do on the S40, S45, S50 and other higher priced models. I found this feature on the S20 to be very useful in capturing more image (greater resolution and consistant panning) when stitching photos together to make a panoramic photo. Also, the S400 does not support the higher resolution movie mode of 640 x 320, as some digital cameras support. Hopefully, Canon will address these feature shortfalls with a firmware upgrade in the near future. As mentioned in a number of reviews, the S400's flash is miniscule and thus is somewhat inadequate to light wide distant shots.

Canon has improved the intelligence of the powershot digital line. Specifically in the S400 the Digic processing makes for fast picture taking and viewing. The size of the S400 is grand. It does fit in a pocket and powers up so quickly, you may never miss another shot with this camera (keeping in mind to charge your battery and have enough flash memory for the moment!!!).

The bottom line... the Canon S400 is compact, sturdy, and fast. If you are looking for a very small 4 megapixel camera with nice even colors, low levels of distortion, a basic movie capture mode, fast memory writing and reading, the S400 is a current top pick. However, if you are looking for lots of manual control, vertical "photo stitching," and more pixels try the S50.

One note if considering the S45 or S50 cameras, play with the navigation buttons before purchasing the unit; I have found the navigation to be somewhat clumsy in-which it is easy to hit "enter" when trying to navigate "up" or "down," or hit "up" when trying to "enter."

5-0 out of 5 stars chic, sophisticated point and shoot with 4MP resolution
if you're looking for a higher resolution point and shoot camera that will give you fantastic pictures shot after shot, consider the s400!

    - excellent resolution - best of the ultra-compact four megapixel class i've looked at
    - 3x optical zoom lens
    - good metering and good tonal balance - maintains shadow detail
    - good natural light white balance, strong and balanced colours
    - features "cerabrite," a metal/ceramic mix that is more smudge proof than other materials
    - allows control over cameras internal processing algorithms - saturation, tone, sharpness
    - low noise at ISO 50 (keep in mind that ISO 50 for this camera is actually ISO 100 for everyone else; likewise, ISO 100 is in reality closer to ISO 200, etc)
    - the LCD monitor (1.5") is bright and has an anti-reflective coating - gives good live preview and review even in well lit situations
    - shooting priority play mode (a half-press of the shutter release always returns to shooting)
    - fast shot-to-shot times
    - fairly good startup time, especially for an extending lens camera
    - voice annotation feature
    - invervalometer (time lapse capability)
    - AF assist lamp works well
    - USB connectivity
    - good battery life, although i would recommend carrying a spare since canon's batteries are proprietary
    - ultracompact: 3.4 x 2.2 x 1.1 in, weighing only 7.8oz

    - average macro performance
    - nine-point AiAF not available in non-auto exposure modes
    - average flash performance
    - you'll need to remove from tripod to open the battery compartment
    - AF Assist lamp doesn't have enough power at telephoto zoom
    - very small mode dial
    - moderately underexposed flash shots
    - very few manual controls - this is okay if all you want is a point and shoot
    - RAW format not supported
    - the supplied 32MB CF card is inadequate - be prepared to shell out a few more bucks for at least a 256MB card
    - proprietary battery - again, a few more bucks for a spare

hope this helps you in your purchase. enjoy!

5-0 out of 5 stars It might be your memory cards
Not all memory cards work well with all cameras. I tried to use a Viking card with my Canon s230, and got the E18 error mentioned here. As soon as I swapped my SanDisk back in, the problem was gone forever. I think sending the memory card back was a much better and cheaper solution than ditching an excellent camera. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Nothing to rage about...
First don't believe the previously posted reviews, they're made by marketing people. You can simply see that by the wording.

    - The keyboard design is bad. 1 button for 2 numbers doesn't work. PLus the buttons are not aligned like they used to be on other nokia phones with similar shape... which makes it IMPOSSIBLE to type anything fast and efficiently, especially when using the predictive dictionnary.
    - The camera quality is very bad. But this isn't a surprise.
    - Internet browsing is not an option with such a small screen, plus mMode plans are a rip-off at AT&T.. so don't get the phone for this. Plus access is still slow.
    - The calendar is not improved from previous. Still way too basic
    - Small memory... for picture, for number of messages.
    - Don't buy it for IM feature as it is same than for internet access, you'll be ripped off.
    - Missing bluetooth. Infrared is cool when you actually have a laptop, otherwise again you need to pay $40 for a cable!!!

    - Light phone. Almost small...
    - Full and complete contact information (though missing option to have more than one email address, also missing option to only browse through one caller group, like only friends or only business)
    - Radio is pretty cool, wherever you are you can listen to the program you want. Convenient for when in public transport, at work, etc..
    - Battery life is pretty good, but not like the first review claims. 4 hours of talktime +radio +etc.... is a lie. But it is better than some other phones. I would say in regular usage that the battery would have to be fully recharged every 3 days.
    - Support MMS.. and that's basically the only advantage and it works will with sending pictures.

A good start, but lots of improvements needed. This phone looks exciting, but is not near what the 5 starts user reviews say.

5-0 out of 5 stars What a nice surprise
I used to be an avid Nokia user until Sony Ericsson came out with a few feature-packed phones around 2003. Recently I checked out the cell phone market again, since it was time for me to get a new phone, and I decided to go back to Nokia again. Here's what I've found so far with the Nokia 3200 (with AT&T Wireless).

-- Camera phone; not perfect quality, but still fun and comparable to other camera phones (same quality as the Sony Ericsson T616)
-- Nice, intuitive menus; I didn't need to read the manual at all
-- The buttons are bright and feel nice
-- Responds well; I've found that other phones, like my Sony Ericsson, has a irritating delay when accessing many features, or if there are too many text messages in your Inbox; this Nokia does things right away, very little delay
-- EDGE technology; fast loading of WAP/mMode pages
-- Bright display; can be seen in daylight too, unlike some other phones with color displays
    -- Easy to read fonts/text
-- Quirky, fun features, like a built-in mini flashlight, radio, and radio alarm clock
-- Battery life is great; I'm actually getting slightly more talk time than they stated (4 hours)!
-- AT&T Wireless overall has provided great customer service; great, quality service in my experience (nice voicemail features, etc.)
-- If this matters to you, this model has a lower radiation rating than most (www.cnet.com)

-- The plastic case can cheapen the appearance of the phone, in my opinion; but it is a neat feature if you want to play around with different templates
-- No volume control on the side of the phone, although you can adjust volume during a call by using the buttons on the front of the phone
-- Slightly lower resolution/quality screen than a few other phones, like the Sony Ericsson T616, for example
-- No bluetooth; although most people probably would not use this

5-0 out of 5 stars Nokia 3200 Phone
Great phone, with lots of nice extras. Kinda like the swiss army knife of cell phones. It has a built in radio and flash light along with a fairly good camera. Tons of memory to take picures with. All this and the phone actually works great too. All the phone needs is more GSM coverage in more areas and its good to go. As a bonus, GSM phones do work almost everywhere in europe. ... Read more

    Editorial Review

If you entertain outdoors all summer long, the Weber Chill makes sure you’ve got plenty of cold drinks on hand for all your guests. This portable refrigerator is manufactured by the same company that makes the dependable Weber grills and has developed a following that is just as loyal. The cooler requires no ice; instead, it rolls out to a deck or patio and plugs into any outdoor outlet to begin chilling and has a built-in thermostat for complete control of the cooling temperature. Constructed of durable powder-coated steel, this cooler is well insulated to provide low emissions for a refrigerator of its power and size, and has a barrel-shaped design that keeps cold air from escaping as quickly when the lid is lifted from the top. Additionally, the refrigerator has a see-through plastic lid that lets guests see the assortment of available drinks before they open the lid. A huge capacity of 1.6 cubic feet holds 72 12-ounce cans of soda, 48 bottles of beer, or 36 wine bottles so you won’t have to keep refilling the cooler all afternoon and evening. Two wire baskets and/or a wine caddy for the Weber Chill can be purchased separately to stack drinks within the cooler more efficiently. Two circular mahogany side tables resting on aluminum rails extrude from the sides of the Weber Chill and serve as additional bar space for pouring and mixing drinks. This portable refrigerator has a vinyl interior that easily wipes clean and measures 40 inches tall with a 21-1/2-inch diameter. It is covered by a one-year warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Weber Chill: Great For Outdoors
We really love the Weber Chill and have not had any guest to our home who hasn't asked where we got it and even how much it cost! We ordered the silver and would recommend to anyone ordering to get the two wire baskets (extra cost) to go with it. This allows you to stack many 12 oz. cans of soft drinks/beer, etc. Also would recommend keeping cooler out of harsh sunlight and turning up when stocked completely full. We entertain outdoors all summer and have used the cooler every day. Highly recommended!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for parties!
Keeps the beer cold! I could stop there but I'll continue! Had party 2 weeks ago and moved the chill out on the patio so people wouldn't have to be going in and out the door every 5 minutes. Worked out great!

I keep all my can pop (soda) and beer in it so I have more room in my fridge. Everyone who has seen the chill loves it and 2 of them have even bought one for their home.

5-0 out of 5 stars Chill is Chillin
This thing rocks!! It comes packaged nicely and secure and sets up in no time. It cools down fast and is the must have patio item for your summer. Baskets are a must get. Chai tea is the blue ribbon of my luna experience. Not too sweet, yet exotic and full bodied. Lightly coated with yogurt, there are little bits of tea leaves inside. Perfect mid-morning snack.

5-0 out of 5 stars love it! cookie of my childhood!
I've had these since I was little. Everytime my family went to the Chinese grocery I would stock up. All my white highschool friends would beg for them when I brought them to school. This seems like an expensive price as compared with the price you pay when you actually buy them at a Chinese grocery or Asian supermarket (like 99 Ranch). But if you don't have access to this treat anywhere near you, this could be a good alternative for your craving
