3-0 out of 5 stars Good Until You Need Support
I had this device for a little bit over a year, and I like most people didn't opt for the extended warranty. In short, it died as soon as the warranty expired. It's the way hardware is and I'm fine with that, but Apple's support wanted to charge me $250 to have it repaired/replaced.That is almost the same amount as a new one, and certainly more than most of their competitors. When it worked, it was great; a device I truly enjoyed, but once it starts having issues, you better look for another device; Apple wont be of much help you.

3-0 out of 5 stars not so bad
not so bad, good amount of memory, fair battery, decent sound.overall a-okay.problems: battery (not replaceable) & loses charge overtime.Go here for a free 20Gb ipod:

2-0 out of 5 stars Poor compatability for all the hype
While the iPod is great for the amount of music you can store on it, Apple has done a poor job with creating a product that lasts. The battery life is minimal (less than 4 hours and I've had it for less than a year), and it costs you $99 to send your product to Apple to have a new battery installed!I'm told you can change the battery for cheaper yourself, but it nullifies the warranty (and on such an expensive electronic, that is not too prudent). The program Apple supplies to be able to add music to your iPod (iTunes) is also full of poorly-chosen options. It comes with an auto-sync option, which at first sounds appealing, but later proves to be more trouble than it's worth.Having attempted to clear my library in the program, iTunes proceeded to delete all my music & recordings from my computer (many of which I cannot replace). If I were to try to sync my iPod to my computer at this point, the auto-sync feature would replace all my playlists with empty ones. After calling Apple, I found out that there is a 10-15 SECOND window in which I MAY be able to turn-off the auto-sync prior to losing all my iPod files. If, however, I am too slow, or my computer doesn't respond fast enough, I lose everything on the iPod as well.
After all that hassle, the good points of the iPod are it's portability (small size) and it's capacity to hold a lot of music/recordings.I hear there are also some calendar and address book features avaliable to Mac users, but not to PC users. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good...
Like most of the others who reviewed these jewel cases, I found 2 broken ones. The first was the top one, which was totally cracked. And the second was in the middle.Even bending the cracked ones they seemed pretty sturdy. One reason may because they had both my jewel cases and a 100 pack of CDR spindle in the same box...

5-0 out of 5 stars would buy again
before buying this product, i read some of the reviews. after reading them, i was thinking.. hrm, should i really buy this or not. because most had said that a few had been broken. well, i opened up both packages today, and not one was broken out of either package. 50/50 cd cases are in perfect and useable condition. i would deffinitly buy these again

4-0 out of 5 stars AMAZON NEEDS TO PACKAGE FRAGILE ITMES BETTER!
Well, I ordered 2 of these (2X25 = 50) haha...anyways...one pack seems to have survived the trip trough what seemed to have been Iraq or somewhere in the middle east. The other pack wasn't too lucky, 4 DOA (broken beyond recognition), 1 Injured (cracked but still usable), & 20 clean and crisp (OK). I paid for 50 and only received 45 that are really in a usable shape. NO way am I going to return for a replacement or exchange, not worth the time and effort. I paid $10 for both, one of these at OFFRICE DEPORT goes for $12.99 so I guess it's still a good deal considering lost some in shipment to me. All in all they are cheap at amazon but the time and risk ehhhh. Maybe it's better to pay a higher price at your local PC/Audio/Video store and get a mint clean full box. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Good for certain speed writers but no the faster...
I've bought several packs of the Memorex CD-R's and they all worked great until I got a new computer with a faster CD-RW (48X).The CDs worked great with the slower writer on my older computer, but with the faster writer there is either some user error...or in the off chance that it actually burns it sounds like there is a strong wind in the background...very annoying. For someone with a 16x CD-RW I would recommend these...but not someone one with a higher write speed.

1-0 out of 5 stars no good for itunes

    Toshiba 32HF72 32" Pure Flat HDTV-Ready TV
    by Toshiba
Average Customer Review: 4.0 out of 5 stars
    Electronics
    list price: $1,499.99
US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France

    Editorial Review

Toshiba's high-definition-ready 32HF72 TV is poised to render vivid, detailed images from DVD players, digital TV set-top boxes, digital satellite systems, cable television boxes--you name it. The 34-inch set's FST PURE fine-pitch flat picture tube not only looks cool, it minimizes unwanted reflections from room light and increases viewing angles while enhancing picture linearity. A special 16:9 mode displays a 16:9 high-definition source (full 1080i) with black bars at the top and bottom of the screen to maintain aspect ratio while wasting no screen lines on the bars. Improving upon standard interlaced signals (like those from DVD player, cable box, and VCR composite-video outputs), IDSC II performs frame, line, and pixel doubling to create progressive, full-frame images. Toshiba's motion-adaptive Hyper Progressive Scanning system analyzes 13,600 screen points to smooth edges and eliminate stair-stepping artifacts. The result is a smooth, filmlike image. (IDSC II passes through 1080i images without alteration.)

A 3D Y/C (4 MB, 10-bit) digital comb filter with Vertical Contour Correction ensures sharp, clean pictures from RF (older VCR, laserdisc) and composite-video signals. Meanwhile, dynamic Quadruple Focus improves edge and corner focus so you can enjoy legible text and graphics even at the outside of the screen. Advanced velocity-scan modulation also improves definition at picture edges by slowing the CRT (cathode-ray tube) beam's horizontal scanning during demanding work and speeding it up when scanning easily rendered sections, like broad dark areas. Cinema Mode (3:2 pulldown switch) circuitry identifies original film-based content from DVDs, then reassembles the frame sequence to more accurately reproduce the original 24-frame-per-second material.

Dual ColorStream HD component-video inputs (Y, Pr, Pb) provide the ultimate picture quality from high-resolution component-video signals (as from compatible DVD players and satellite receivers). The 10-watts-per-channel 32HF72 offers two sets of rear AV inputs and a set of front AV inputs (all including S-video) for easy connection with a camcorder or gaming console. A rear AV output lets you hook the set up with a surround receiver. SRS 3D Sound simulates surround sound from any stereo audio, while Toshiba's Sub-Bass System (SBS) heightens the impact of low-frequency audio. ... Read more

    • Hyper Progressive Scanning (lower-grade video up-conversion), 3:2 pulldown (corrects frame rate for movie viewing)
    • Advanced velocity-scan modulation improves definition at picture edges

4-0 out of 5 stars pretty good but
this TV has a good picture, its easy to set-up and the price is not bad.But i also bought a sony at the same time for apx the same price. If i was to shop again i would buy 2 sonys next time.

4-0 out of 5 stars I'll stop by to help you with connections!
People who write that their VCR-through-old-analog-TV picture is better than progressive scan DVD though this gem of a HDTV are really only telling you that they don't know how to set up their new TV!!

This TV has good sound and a great DVD picture through the component jacks. Also, according to Consumer Reports, Toshiba has superior HD picture and excellent reliability, usually for significantly less than the other all-around high quality brand-Sony.

Early Adopters Pick: November 2002. The only digital video recorder with a content ranking system, Season Pass program recording, and WishList program recording.

TiVo's Series2 DVR delivers more recording capacity at a lower cost and also offers the latest in networked home entertainment. TiVo DVRs record television programming directly to a digital hard drive, eliminating the hassles of videotape. The TiVo Series2 offers up to 80 hours of recording time in TiVo's small, sleek chassis (15 inches wide by 11.5 inches deep and 3 inches high).

TiVo automatically records your favorite shows.
The TiVo DVR Series2 is compatible with virtually every television available. It also works with VCRs, TV antennas, cable systems, and satellite systems. A patented remote control simplifies program recording and controls multiple TiVos within the home (two devices can share your existing phone line). Connections include three video inputs and outputs (S-video, composite-video, and RF coaxial), one set of stereo RCA analog audio inputs, and two sets of stereo audio outputs. A standard female RJ-11 telephone jack is the channel by which the Series2 accesses the TiVo service.

TiVo subscribers can pay $12.95 per month or a one-time product lifetime fee of $299. Benefits of TiVo service include, but are not limited to, Season Pass (TiVo automatically finds and records every episode of a series all season long, even if the network schedule changes); WishList (TiVo finds and records programs that feature your favorite actor, director, team, or even topic); Smart Recording (TiVo detects lineup changes for you and suggests programs to match your interests, if desired); and Showcases (exclusive entertainment plus recording shortcuts from some of the most popular networks on TV).

Now, you through your home network you can access TiVo's Home Media Features. This services provides remote scheduling capabilities from anywhere you have Internet access; MP3 streaming from your PC to your TiVo so you can listen to music through your home theater sound system; digital image viewing from your PC so that you can create slideshows on your TV; and multiroom viewing, which allows you to connect two TiVo Series2 DVRs in your home so that you can record on one and watch on another. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Must have for busy people and families
This product is great. We now have two. Transferring shows between them or to the computer is a breeze. Last Thanksgiving we had a slideshow of all of the pictures we'd taken in the last year showing on our TV in the background. This was a hit with everyone, especially with family we don't see often.

2-0 out of 5 stars Great concept, problems with product, lots of hidden gotchas
I never had a DVR (aside from my computer) before, so when I finally managed to get my Tivo all hooked up, I was really impressed. I especially love the "Season Pass" feature which will pick out all the times your favorites program airs, and let you schedule recording for all of them in a few clicks.

    But then the headaches began...

(1.) First of all, how many of us have the telephone line near our TVs? Normally, the TV and electronic gadgets are on one side of the room, and the phone is on the other - right? Tivo needs a phone line to get it's program information - at least initially. So if your house is configured like mine, be prepared to have phone line extensions strewn all across your living room while you spend up to a day downloading and installing all the program information by phone.

So of course, I almost began to drool when I read in the Manual that you can actually connect the Tivo to your local or wireless network.

(2.) Problem is, you most likely will NOT be able to connect your Tivo to your local or wireless network. I took Tivo's own approved list of hardware (direct network adapters or wireless receivers) to my local geek toy store, and bought the top recommended networking connection on the list. That didn't work, so I returned it and bought the next recommended item on Tivo's list. That didn't work either, so over the course of the next two weeks I tried three (yes, 3) more. Nothing. I finally gave up, and had to buy a long extension cord for my phone line and install it more perminent-like.

(3.) The main reason I'm here today, is because I found this page while searching for an explanation to the weird high pitched whistle noise my Tivo began making last night (after only 2 months of ownership). Turns out this is apparently an increasingly common problem - which I never heard of until today - and even more unfortunately seems to indicate that my Tivo will be totally dead in the next few days. Right now, it's literally delaying everything I do (trying to view my cable box's program guide, etc) by 30 seconds or more (the normal lag time should be around 1 or 2 seconds)

So, since I've already paid for the lifetime membership, I'm now searching for a relatively cheap way I can fix the problem myself. Do I need to replace the harddrive, the case fans, ..or what? By the way, if Tivo goes out of business, how will I get my program guide? Tivo doesn't grab the FREE TV Guide data from your cable like the no-subscription-required Panasonics can.

(4.) Oh, and also wanted to warn people about one more thing that only starts happening after you've had your Tivo for a few weeks - which is actually intentional on the part of Tivo - but which isn't mentioned anywhere in any of their manuals or documentation, for obvious reasons...

After a few weeks (if your Tivo still works), you'll start to get little on-screen pop-up alerts RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF YOUR FAVORITE PROGRAM which stay there for atleast 30 seconds until you click it or patiently wait for it to go away. And what are these prompts? ADVERTISING which actually is made to look like a really important subscriber announcement from Tivo. Maybe it's important to THEM, but I'd rather NOT see it in the middle of my TV screen. Actually, that's yet another example of Tivo's dumb implimentation: You'll only see this advertising if you're watching live TV instead of the recorded programming... and since most people with Tivos are watching the recorded programs instead of live TV, Tivo's sponsors are paying for ads that few people will ever see... Great business ideas - yes?)

In addition to these on-screen ads which interrupt your viewing, when you go to your Tivo menu, you'll find atleast TWO links to advertisements. The really bad thing about these links in particular is that they are positioned in the place where your other normal Tivo menu options are listed. So instead of selecting your "To Do List" or upcoming recordings, you might accidently find yourself watching a series of advertisements - WHICH YOU CANNOT DELETE OR REMOVE.

OK, so that's all I have to say at this point. Seems to me that Tivo had a great idea, but terrible implimentation. I don't know about their customer service, but I probably also won't even bother, if it's going to cost me $100 to $150 to ship them back their own defective product anyway.

If I can't fix the Tivo, and I'm not in the mood to pay double-or-triple in trying to get it fixed, then it's apparently just become one nice looking but useless paperweight... to which I have a lifetime subscription.

    Editorial Review

Fans of author Louis Sachar's book Holes will be delighted with this scrupulously faithful adaptation. After being wrongly found guilty of stealing a pair of sneakers, Stanley Yelnats (Shia LaBeouf) gets sent to Camp Green Lake, a juvenile correctional facility in the bed of a long-gone dry Texas lake. There--under the watchful eye of overseer Mr. Sir (a zesty Jon Voight), sneakily mean therapist Dr. Pendanski (Tim Blake Nelson, O Brother Where Art Thou?), and the cool and cruel Warden (Sigourney Weaver)--Stanley and dozens of other delinquents are forced to dig an endless series of holes that the Warden hopes will lead her to a precious secret left behind by a long-dead female outlaw (Patricia Arquette). Sachar's book is beloved for its vivid characters and suspenseful plot; by sticking close to its source, Holes has become a dynamic, exciting, and surprisingly touching movie. --Bret Fetzer ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Not your typical Hollywood. One of the best I've ever seen.
I'm not a big fan of family movies. This is the exception. The story was not destroyed to make it appeal to the typical Hollywood audience. Perhaps this is due to the fact that they hired the author, Louis Sachar, to write the screenplay version, and it follows the book very closely.

I'm often disappointed by Hollywood's over-use of unrealistic violence, sexist roles, and plots that are an insult to your intelligence. But they mostly avoided all that in Holes. You will love this even if you don't normally like "family" movies.

Some of the best acting I've ever seen from the kids, and of course Sigourney Weaver is almost perfect every time she says "Excuse me?" Full of emotion, great lessons, a great ending, you can't ask for much more.

3-0 out of 5 stars Ok movie
The movie was ok, it wasn't wow or anything, but it is a good movie to watch when you're bored. I thought the book was much better though.

5-0 out of 5 stars HOLES IS THE BEST!

Sony DCRTRV22 MiniDV Camcorder with 2.5" LCD, Color Viewfinder & Memory Stick Capability
Average Customer Review: 4.5 out of 5 stars
    Electronics
    list price: $799.99
US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France

    Editorial Review

With a size that is 28 percent smaller and lighter than Sony's previous camcorders, the DCR-TRV22 does not compromise powerful optics and audio performance. The camcorder's features include a 10x optical zoom, a 1/4-inch CCD for clean imaging, a 2.5-inch LCD with touchscreen control, a color viewfinder, and an 8 MB Memory Stick for still image capture.

    Step-up Value
Here's a Sony feature that adds value to this digital camcorder and differentiates it from other models in the Sony lineup.

product image MPEG Movie Mode: Originally found on step-up Sony Digital Still Cameras, Sony presents another camcorder first--MPEG Movie Mode for select Handycam Camcorders. Capture MPEG digital video and store it directly to your Memory Stick Media. Movie length ranges from 5 seconds to the length allowed by the capacity of your memory stick with MPEG Movie EX. Take the "Best Of" scene recorded on video tape, for example--the groom kissing the bride on the wedding day, convert it to an MPEG Movie and share it with family and friends via the Internet.

    Image Stabilization
Sony's SteadyShot picture stabilization keeps your images smooth and steady without degrading picture quality. The technology uses motion sensors, which tend to be more accurate than most other systems used in the camcorder market.

    Optics
The professional-quality Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar lens ensures light capture will be well-contrasted and clear. The 1/4-inch CCD sensor yields a gross 680,000 pixels and records images accurately in vibrant color and sharp resolution. The TRV22 has a robust 10x optical zoom that fits most purposes, but for extra distance the camera can reach 120x through the digital zoom. Several autoexposure modes allow for automatic operation while achieving ideal images for the situation.

    More Features
You can record video in low- to no-light situations with Sony's NightShot system, which uses infrared light to capture images invisible to the human eye. With the function on, subjects up to 10 feet away can be seen in total darkness. You can also use the color slow shutter for color night shots instead of the regular green night-shot hue.

Sony's Stamina power management system and InfoLithium battery give the TRV22 a long operating time. To keep you informed of current battery life, Sony's AccuPower meter displays the number of minutes remaining right in the viewfinder.

The TRV22 features a 2.5-inch color LCD and a color viewfinder. The menu is accessed via a touchscreen display on the LCD, reducing the clutter of buttons on the camera. You can take digital stills and record small MPEG1 movies using the included 8 MB Memory Stick.

The USB streaming feature can turn the TRV22 into a video conferencing tool or a Webcam, and the standard IEEE 1394 connection can be used for digital video editing on a computer.

5-0 out of 5 stars A great camcorder
I use this camcorder mainly for making short video's and it is awsome.I really like the touchscreen becuase it gets rid of all of the buttons on the camcorder and is so much easier. Also something I haven't heard anyone say in the reviews is the record button on the side of the LCD screen as well as the normal buton by your right thumb. The button beside the LCD is really nice for if you are trying to get an angled up view of someone, or are holding the camcoder in an awkard position. The video has great quality under almost all circumstances, even if the still pictures aren't that great a camcorder is for video not pictures.

The only things I don't like are; the 10x optical zoom which is small but the digital zoom does seem to be better than other camcorders I have had, the battery doesn't last as long as many other sony camcorders but is still above averge, and it has a slightly smaller viewing angle than most camcorders, but I have a wide angle lens that can be used to compensate for that if needed. There is the quiet humming noise that others have talked about, but you can't hear it unless you have the volume turned up really loud so it shouldn't really affect your choice.

The V22 camcorder is a great buy and is perfect for if you are taking home video's, or are editing short movies.I am very happy with my purchase and recommend it to everyone.

2-0 out of 5 stars Motor Noise!
This camera is great EXCEPT for the motor noise. The hum comes through load and clear when filming school concerts, people talking, or anything else where it is generally quite in the background. Do not buy this camera if this will bother you! I am now buying a $100 external microphone to counteract this problem.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Camcorder
We purchased our Sony DCR-TRV 22 about a year ago and we have used it indoors, outdoors, night time, windy mountain tops, dark caves, poolside...you name it, we've tried it.And, we've been very pleased with this camcorder. It has a fantastic zoom on it, the night shot works great, the microphone worked well even in windy conditions. No, the still shots don't have a high enough pixel to print out into pictures but, we bought this to be a camcorder, not a camera! And for e-mailing, it works just fine.
We have found that every Sony product that we've ever purchased has performed wonderfully and we've been very pleased them.I do recommend this camcorder, and I know that when it comes time to replace this one...we'll be buying another Sony! ... Read more

Toshiba Satellite A25-207 Notebook PC (2.66-GHz Pentium 4, 512 MB RAM, 40 GB Hard Drive)

    Editorial Review

Marketed primarily as an ideal tool for business power users, Toshiba's A20 and A25 series of Satellite notebooks blend high-end processors with solid battery life, average 3-D performance and integrated wireless communication. At the budget end of the A25 lineup is the Toshiba Satellite A25-207, which shares many of the upscale traits of its pricier peers but lacks a few of the bells and whistles and offers a more affordable price point.

Driven by a powerful 2.66 GHz Intel Pentium 4 processor (512 KB Level 2 cache) and 512 MB of DDR SDRAM memory, the Satellite A25-207 is no slouch when it comes to raw speed. In fact, you'd be hard-pressed to find any 2D application it couldn't easily handle. As for games and other demanding 3-D tasks, the forecast is not quite so rosy. With 32 MB of shared (not dedicated) video memory, the integrated Trident CyberBlade XP2 graphics chipset simply isn't fast enough to guarantee smooth frame rates during ultra-complex 3-D rendering.

Measuring 13.4 by 11.6 by 1.9 inches and 7.9 pounds, the unit is substantially smaller than most notebooks manufactured before the turn of the millennium but slightly above average when compared to today's ultra-compact models. It does, however, feature a large 15-inch XGA TFT display and a variety of welcome amenities, including a full size 85-key keyboard with 12 function keys and a TouchPad pointing device, three high-speed USB 2.0 ports for plug and play peripherals, and a trio of communication options--wireless 802.11b LAN, 10/100 wired LAN, and a low-speed 56K modem.

In its stock form, the Satellite A25-207 does not incorporate a FireWire port (often used for digital camcorder connectivity), nor does it permit the burning of DVDs. An integrated 40 GB hard disk handles data storage duties, and a combination DVD/CD-RW drive facilitates file archiving, audio CD listening and burning, and DVD movies. According to independent testing, estimated battery life is a commendable 3 hours, 18 minutes. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars JUNKthe worst computer known to man!
This is a company computer and it is JUNK!I have a Dell desk top at work and an Apple ibook for home use so I know both O/S.My Dell at work is a solid machine! Not bad for windows based computer. This Toshiba is not worth squat! It is a junk slow piece of crap that could be best used as a boat anchor!

If you want a lap top GO WITH APPLE the new O/S 10 Linux based is superior to anything Mr. Gates could even dream of plus you don't have to worry to much about viruses!

The apple ibook is superior to all laptops except the Power book which is in a class by itself.

5-0 out of 5 stars A good laptop for the price
I spent 3 months looking around for my first computer. Budget constraints and value for money were important considerations. After looking at laptop deals and incessantly waiting for a great laptop deal from Dell (some of which I missed), I decided to go for an IBM G-Series/Toshiba 207/307. According to some of the user forums and ratings, IBM and Toshiba laptops were rated among the best. I dont profess to be a computer expert. And all my views are as a result of seeing several laptop models and info websites, and comparing features.

The IBM G-series costed more and had less features than this model (esp. RAM). The 307 model had a DVD writer and some superior features like higher hard disk space, superior broadband wireless etc for a great price. But, I thought it best to wait until the market settles for one of +/- R&RW DVD writers. Comparing features/price available on the laptops, I finally decided to settle for the Toshiba A25-207.

Like one of the other reviewers, I got this notebook using free, standard shipping in just 2 days. Thank you Amazon for your prompt delivery.

    Pros:
Good value for money, nice screen, good battery life, good picture quality. I like the design and its ergonomic features esp. slightly off-center touchpad.

    Cons:
Heavy as should be expected from a desktop replacement.

Some of Toshiba's competitors have superior resolution LCD screens viz. SXGA and UXGA in their laptops. Still, the current XGA TFT is better in a Toshiba laptop than some of the others that I had looked into.

The placement of keys in the keyboard is not exactly to my liking. I guess I will get used to it in time.

The latch that shuts the notebook while unobtrusive seems to be flimsy.

Has 3 USB ports placed next to each other at the back. Would have preferred if two were placed at the back and one/two on one of the sides.

I dont know why Toshiba went back to the shared, integrated VRAM. Some older Toshiba models had 32 MB of NVIDIA GEFORCE RAM, not integrated!

Overall, this is a great laptop, especially for the price I paid.

1-0 out of 5 stars Horrible Company
Toshiba is the worst company and manufacturer of notebook computers.I purchased a Satellite 3005 Notebook just over one year ago and have had nothing but trouble. It was the worst $...investment ever. Here is my list of issues and repair attemps leading to my frustration:

    §Restored system to previous date
    §Two complete system restores
    §Fourreplaced CD drives
    §IInstalled updated display driver
    §Replaced system board
    §Installed updated BIOS
§Replaced battery (not covered on warranty).

Their costomer service, support, and warranties are a joke. They only use poorly refurbished replacement parts to repair their poorly manufactured products.Stay away from Toshiba. ... Read more

    Editorial Review

Though it looks like a toy, don't be fooled: the Nintendo GameCube is a powerful video game console that rightly deserves its place among the other next-generation game systems. In fact, its playful, appealing design and small size (the unit is a not-quite-cubed 6 inches) aren't the only features that set it apart from the others.

For starters, Nintendo has quite clearly made this a game-only machine. It doesn't try to play your CD collection, run your movies, read your e-mail, or store your MP3 files. The company has concentrated its efforts on games. All the prelaunch titles we've seen play smoothly, with bright, fast graphics and great sound. Nintendo says its engineers have removed traditional bottlenecks that have, in the past, slowed down processing. New components designed by IBM and MoSys, as well as a large-capacity secondary memory cache, keep instructions moving through the system's microprocessor (MPU) at peak levels. In English: the GameCube is optimized to push speed up while pushing costs down; hence its position at the lower end of the price spectrum.

The GameCube is the first Nintendo video game system to use a disc-based medium rather than cartridges for its games. Moving the software to disc media generally means lower development costs for the publishers, which, in turn, trickles down to the consumer not only in price, but also in availability and quality, as it's then easier to try out untested game ideas (Pikmin, anyone?). While most other systems likewise have their games stored on discs, the GameCube's 3-inch format is smaller than everyone else's, and is so designed to fit in a shirt pocket as much as to deter would-be software pirates.

Of course, the main advantage of the GameCube is that it's the home field of one of the world's premier game designers: Nintendo. While powerhouses Electronic Arts and Sega make games for all systems (including this one), you can play Nintendo games only on a Nintendo system. And Nintendo, you might recall, has been hitting them out of the park since it started with Donkey Kong. In fact, here's a roll call of characters and series you won't find on the other consoles: Mario, Legend of Zelda, Perfect Dark, Metroid, Kirby, and, of course, Pokémon. A few names that the GameCube will share with the other guys: Madden, Tony Hawk, Sonic, Batman, and Star Wars.

The system also comes with four built-in controller ports, so you can easily plug in extra controllers and let friends join in for the multiplayer games--it's even got a built-in handle so you can easily move it to a friend's house. It comes with two memory card slots for saving your progress through games, and there's the capacity for future expansion into the world of online gaming.

In short, the GameCube isn't an all-in-one entertainment system, and neither is it the most powerful of the modern video game consoles. But for video game enthusiasts who want to stick with their favorite characters, its value cannot be beat. --Porter B. Hall

5-0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended.
Any fan of the Nintendo 64 needs this console to add more depth and knowlegde to their already large collection of games. I highly recommended a Gamecube for any fan. And soon the Gamecube Revolution will be released making another ultimate console due out in the future.

1-0 out of 5 stars listen up, fanboys...
all you nintendo fanboys are cramping up the xbox reviews. thats our turf! :p but anyway, you say "oh, the crapbox (wow thats clever) is so bad, all the games are just rippoffs, and they're all for pc, and the controller is huge, and this and that and whatever" well, gamecube stinks even worse. i mean, what games do you have for it? animal crossing? pokemon staduim? please. what's that? there are 'mature' games for it? resident evil series, thats it. name ONE 1st party nintendo game that's rated M. you can't. conker doesnt count, he's from rare. or perfect dark, thats rare too. and rare went over to microsoft anyway when they saw how bad gamecube was doing. even the system itself looks like a Playschool product. who makes a purple console? and to the one who said 'xbox players are losers and loners with no friends', that's gamecube's territory. i'm not gonna call the guys over to play a heart-pounding game of butterfly catching on animal crossing. oh, and nintendo STILL HASN'T GONE ONLINE. xbox live is the greatest online gaming service around. and the xbox controller has gotten progressively smaller as time has gone by. and 3rd parties make controllers that are even smaller than gamecube's. so lets see, if i want Billy Hatcher's Giant Egg i'll get gamecube. if i want GTA AND Halo 2 AND just about every other game you could want, i'll get xbox.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fanboys, get some perspective.
    Some of these reviews...Seriously.

Just because you like one console, doesn't mean you have to hate the others. Play what all consoles have to offer, you don't have to be a fanboy to one system...

Anyway, I bought my Gamecube on release, along with Smash Bros Melee. Now, I am a huge Nintendo fan, but I also own an Xbox so rest assured, I play games, not the consoles they come on. I don't care what game the console is on, it's the games that count.

Whilst the 'Cubes selection of games isn't as vast as the PS2s, the quality is a lot higher. Games like Mario, Zelda, Metroid Prime, Smash Bros cannot be matched, and can only be bought for the Nintendo Gamecube. This is main reason to buy a 'Cube, Nintendo games. There are other fantastic games available only to the 'Cube too, like Tales of Symphonia, and Viewtiful Joe.

If you are a casual gamer, get a PS2. The 'Cube has a lot of games for the more pro gamer; don't be fooled by the "child" like graphics, Nintendo games are all about gameplay.
Still put off by the child like graphics? Check out Metroid Prime: Echoes and Resident Evil 4, exclusive to 'Cube.

Finaly, anyone concerned about graphic power of Gamecube, it is much prettier graphically then the PS2. Resident Evil 4 has the best graphics of any console game made, even surpasing games of Xbox, which is more powerful.

So, to sum up, the 'Cube is a powerful console, with a great selection of exclusive games and a controller that is confortable to hold. If you don't play games that often, you might be better with a PlayStation 2, but if you consider yourself a pro gamer, check out the Nintendo Gamecube.
You won't regret it =) ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Controler out there
I'm a huge video game fan. I can sit all day and play them and be in my own little world. I've enjoyed my Gamecube world and one of the reasons I have is because of one of the best controllers ever made.

The design for the gamecube controler is comparable to the N64. All the buttons from it are back are a more compact controller. Instead of a C buttons you have the C-stick. The directional pad is the smallest it's ever been and Nintendo has kep it's sacred A and B buttons. The built in rumble is great and the option to ditch it has been on every game I've seen and played.

The only knock I have against this controller is the Z button. The button is to close to the R button. I have big hands and it's hard to press it quickly sometimes. It really doesn't matter all the time and isn't that much of a problem but thats the slighest flaw this controller has.

Nintendo has made this controller small and sweet. It's comfortable to hold and it doesn't have buttons you won't ever use like other controllers systems.

4-0 out of 5 stars strange placements of buttons, but good
The gamecube's controller is one of the best controllers if not the best.First the pros.It is small and easily fits into a person's hands. The R and L buttons feel like they're part of your hands. The C-stick is MUCH better than the C buttons on the N64.No longer will you fumble around with awkward buttons as you get slaughtered by enemies trying to fix the camera. To me,the Z button is still in a good position and doesn't need your hand to stop pushing other buttons to push it,although veteran gamers are pretty good at doing this process. The A button is more recognizable with it's largeness. The X and Y buttons are easily pressed and more recognizibale too, along with the B button. Now the bad things. The start button is small and hard to push without a lot of effort and because there are so many buttons, you might find it hard to find. The D-pad is also small, but luckily you won't have to use it much. The controller does feel small and weak and makes your fingers hurt when you move your hands to much. Finally, the sensitivity of the controller. Most buttons are needed to be pressed harder for them to work.Mostly, this only happens when you're used to the playstation 1&2 controller(like me)which are not supposed to be pressed to hard to be used.Overall,I give the controller a 4 out 5 second to only the ps2 control.

3-0 out of 5 stars Eh, it's all good but...
I have to admit nintendo finally made a comftorable controller, no edges like the NES, not paer thin like the SNES, and oh yea you only need two hands to use it unlike the N64.However it has a flaw, First of all I have very large hands, and this controller is rather small and almost feels fragile to me.Out of the three major systems I would haft to say this is the worst controller to those of you with large hands.I actually find the XBOX controller to be the most comftorable, and the button placement is far better on the PS2.

    PROS
    - Lots of buttons?

    CONS
    - Z button is hard to use
    - Entire feel is clunky at first
    - Small
    - Feels fragile

Here is a good rule of thumb, if you find the XBOX controller to be comftorable (as i do) this controller will be to small and fragile for you and you will need to go with 3rd party controllers, but maybe you can get used to it. ... Read more

I got this game thinking it was going to be like my other tetris game I had on my old computer. I must say I was very disappointed in it and the store wont take it back as its been opened, arghhhhhhhhh. Anyway, it takes forever to move on to the game. You have to go through all this crazy world stuff first. (...) But thats what it sounds like. I wont let me 7 year old play and I sure dont like listening to this women. The game would have be fine had they left all the nonsense out of it. But I'm looking for a better version of this game. I wouldnt recomend buying this item at all. This game went in the garbage and I took a money loss.

4-0 out of 5 stars This Game Will Win Over Even A Reluctant Gamer
I often get bored quickly with video games because the story-type games are cheesy and slow, and in the arcade-style games, there's nothing more to do than accumulate points and advance levels.

The last game I liked was the old Nintendo "Mario World" because the pace was fast, there were neat things to see at each level and there was a point: save the Princess!

Without a doubt, Tetris is one of the most addictive arcade games. There is something very fun and compelling about placing bricks in careful patterns. However, as an arcade game, Tetris could eventually get boring. But not Tetris Worlds! This game has a wonderful fantasy world feature: as you advance levels, you see incremental improvements on a planet! The graphics and things you win at each level are cute, simple and satisfying.

It's true, though, the visibility on two of the levels is terrible! Just avoid these levels, though, the others aren't that bad.

4-0 out of 5 stars To violent!
You have blocks and you make them fall on other blocks! Normally, Nintendo contract players such as Mario, Pikachu, Link, DonkeyKong, Bowser, and Kirby are generally happy and well-mannered, but in SuperSmash Bros. Melee, the pleasantries get thrown out and the gloves (exceptfor Mario's) come off. This update of the N64 favorite features these and othervideo game icons in furious, yet utterly absurd fisticuffs that usually make fora smashing good time. Just make sure you have at least one human opponent topound on.

Starting off with 14 characters (an additional 11 are waiting to be unlocked),the game has a pretty standard premise--let Nintendo's stars beat on each otheruntil the timer runs out. However, a lot of emphasis is put on knockingopponents off ledges while avoiding the same fate. In typical Nintendo manner, there are quite a few power-ups to assist you in the melee. The actual combatisn't as intricate as in other fighting games; however, the ultra-cartoonylayout of the many, many arenas sometimes adds a strategic element not usuallyfound in similar titles.

Super Smash Bros. Melee's strength lays in the mayhem created infour-player fights. The camera does an excellent job of positioning itself so allcombatants are constantly visible. Also, Melee sports some of the bestvisuals seen in a Nintendo product. All the characters are highly detailed, andthe movements of each are smoothly infused with personality. Donkey Kong lumbersand Princess Peach fights with grace.

As the multiplayer mode is the key reason for this game's existence, thesingle-player mode is decidedly weak. The game features an adventure mode that playssomewhat like an old-school, side-scrolling Mario game. Sadly, despite its goodlooks, its gameplay is rather uninspired. This game is clearly at its best whenthere are two or more players with controllers in their hands. --MarkBrooks

    Pros:

    • Fantastic graphics and sound keep the action upbeat
    • Many new characters and other goodies to unlock
    Cons:
    • Single-player experience is comparatively weak
    • Too cute for a few folks
    • Adventure mode is boring

Well, it used to be that way.

Sony and Microsoft are celebrating over their triumph over the powerful Sega Dreamcast system, and glad that it'll probably never gain the strength to once again be a major force in video games. Now the two supergiants want Nintendo out of the picture, too. Gamers look more and more for graphics and action rather than new ideas, and since Nintendo does the latter, it won't survive long.

Sad to say this, but Nintendo's on its way out.

Here's a list I made predicting the future of games:

1.) Nintendo will die sometime during or after the next console generation. It will not be taken over by Sony or Microsoft, who will consider its games "kiddie" and "worthless".
2.) These game genres' popularity may change:
    First-person shooter: Increase
    Fighting: Increase
    Racing: Stay the same
    Platformer: Extinct
    Puzzle: Extinct
    RPG/Strategy: Decrease
    Sports: Stay the same
3.) Future consoles will move their focus even more from games to features, such as DVD, Internet, "Home" systems, etc.
4.) Sony and Microsoft use their mighty money powers to create a monopoly for themselves.
    5.) These ESRB games will:
    EC: Extinct
    E: Decrease
    E+10: Decrease
    T: Stay the same
    M: Increase
    AO: Increase
6.) Game systems hit a level of "Maximum realism".
7.) Game mascots (ex: Mario, Crash Bandicoot, Mega Man, etc.) will no longer exist; all characters will be realistic people.
8.) Second Great Video Game Crash will occur somewhere from 15 to 25 years from now when consumers lose interest.
9.) Sony and Microsoft in their ultimate clash; unsure if Sony or Microsoft wins.
10.) Sony and/or Microsoft easily overpower all third companies with new consoles. This leads to less variety in games and consoles.
11.) After the Second Great Video Game Crash, neither Sony nor Microsoft may be able to save the industry they've destroyed. No third companies will help, as they will have been wiped out long ago. There will be no Nintendo to pick up the industry once again, as it had in the First Great Video Game Crash of 1983 with its NES console. No telling what happens at this point.

For all those of you who play only Nintendo, buy all the Nintendo consoles and games that you can, as they'll disappear forever only less than a decade from now. If I was asked, however, which game to get first, I might recommend this one. It'll be a treasure for the ages.

5-0 out of 5 stars My favorite Gamecube game
Out of all the Gamecube games I have, the one I can always play and the one I play the most is Super Smash Bros Melee. This is one of those games that is great to get out when friends come over. Once I start playing against somebody else thats good, its hard to stop. Its easy to spend hours playing several rounds trying to discover new ways to defeat your enemies. Overall, if you have a Gamecube and still don't have this game, you really owe it to yourself to pick this up. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Preety Good
I love everything of this game. The graphics, the sound ( big time) but there is some flaws. When you doing the Grand Prix, what happen to retry's if your 4th to 8th? This makes the game almost impossible. But that's a good thing. We want the game to be more challenging (ulike to Mario Kart 64). In this game, you cna unolock characters, karts and even battle areans. Now I've spoken about that, there's 3 modes in battle

Ballon Battle: Same as oriinal Ballon mode in MK 64
Shine Thief: Touch/Run into a sun and don't get attacked for 1 minute (this match is pretty easy for people who have the sun)
Bomb Battle: Collect bombs and hit people 3 times in a row to win!

    Overall 4/5
This game is great except for a few important flaws.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the Most Replayable Games of Recent Years
Mario Kart Double Dash!! is one of the most phenomenal video games ever made; a game that makes me fondly remember what video games used to be.
Firstly, for Mario Kart veterans (who I am sure have already picked this game up), this is the most unique game in the series. Two racers now occupy each car.The racer in front steers while the character in back handles weapons and attacks (you can punch nearby players now and steal their weapons). If you play single-player, you control both characters, stearing and firing weapons, while a single tap of the 'Z' button will switch character positions. This comes in handy, since each character can carry a weapon, while only the character in back can use them. So, if the driver has a banana or a shell you want to fire, and the character in back has nothing, tap 'Z' and switch positions in an instant, without slowing down your car at all.
Because of the two-character mechanic, there are now two types of weapon boxes that you drive through to recieve your weapon: single boxes give only the character in the back of the car a weapon - so if the charcater in back is already carrying one, switch the charcater's positions when you drive through a single weapon box so that both your racers will now carry a weapon.Double weapon boxes give each racer on the kart a weapon, (if one charcater is already carrying one, the other racer will recieve a weapon regardless). In single-player, if both characters have a weapon, and the one in back fires theirs, the characters automatically switch positions on the car, so the character with the remaining weapon is instantly ready to fire.
In multi-player, you have a few options. Each player can control their own car and both characters on it, or you can each pick one character to race on the same car.If you choose the latter, both players will have to push 'Z' simultaneosly to switch positions on the car.So, if one player prefers driving, and the other prefers handling the weapons, you can stay that way the entire race, since the characters will not automatically switch positions (instead, the player in front can tap the fire button to toss his weapon to the player in back when they are empty-handed).Multiplayer is incredibly addicting; especially (surprise) in battle mode, which makes a welcome return. For players used to ballon battle from Mario Kart 64, the levels in Double Dash will seem small at first (though you can unlock a few more, one of which is bigger), but give balloon battle a chance. It is incredibly addictive, and nothing is more satisfying than hitting your opponent with an expertly timed shot of a green shell from across a level.(There are also two new battle modes this time around, but I found balloon battle to be the most enjoyable.)
One thing that surprised me was the game's difficulty. The learning curve is perfect, with three difficulty levels as usual, 50cc, 100 cc and 150cc racing modes. But for a Nintendo game, 150cc proved fairly difficult, which was a welcome challenge.Computer opponents are smart on 150cc mode, but make similar mistakes to the ones you'll find yourself making. They win races not by cheating (like in other games), but by firing weapons at strategic moments in the race, or using power slides around turns (do it correctly and you'll get a mini speedy boost at the end of the power slide). So, regardless of how far ahead you may be on 150cc mode, one simple error can prove devestating. On the flip side, if you are behind, one great, well timed shot can be all you need to take the lead. The gameplay is expertly balanced, and there is even strategy involved now in selecting your team and your car, since different players and cars have varying weights and pros and cons.Plus, each character has a unique special weapon.
In addition, the course design, as usual in the Mario Kart series, is flawless.Every course is unique, and you'll develop strategies for approaching each one. Moreover, the graphics are sharp, bright and colorful. Each course and each character has their own personality.
The replay value is infinite. There are plenty of unlockables in single-player, inlcuding new characters, courses (racing and battle), cars, and game modes.Once everything is unlocked, multiplayer alone will keep you coming back for more, not to mention besting your best course times in time trial mode.
This game is a great reminder of what used to make games great - gameplay and replayability, not graphics, physics or online modes. This is a brilliantly crafted game, a game that will appeal to all ages, both genders, gamers and non-gamers alike.
    A true classic!

    PCS Phone Samsung VGA1000 (Sprint)
    by Samsung
Average Customer Review: 3.5 out of 5 stars
    Wireless Phone
    list price: $259.99
US | Canada | United Kingdom | Germany | France

    Editorial Review

With an integrated camera, voice dialing, and dual color displays, the Samsung VGA1000 makes a great mobile companion. Other features, like support for Sprint's wireless Web services, as well as built-in games and ringtones, round out a strong package that is sure to please.

    Design
The VGA1000's handsome clamshell form factor houses an internal 128 x 160, 65,000-color display. There's also a supplementary color display on the front panel of the device that displays call information, battery life, time of day, signal strength and more. An extendable antenna is located on the top right side of the phone, and the camera and flash unit are placed on the rear of the device. Meanwhile, most of the phone's features and on-screen menus are controlled by a five-way center button above the handset's dial pad. A 2.5mm headset jack is also provided.

    Calling Features
The phone's built-in address book allows you to assign up to 300 entries, each storing six numbers, with a total capacity for 300 numbers and 300 email and Web addresses. You can customize your caller ID by linking a photo to a specific phone number in your contact list. In addition to a vibrate mode, the phone allows you to choose from a number of polyphonic ringtones that make your received calls all the more exciting. The VGA1000's GPS location technology pinpoints your exact location when you dial 911 (where available). Perhaps most importantly for users in rural areas, the VGA1000 is a tri-mode phone, meaning it can operate on Sprint's digital PCS network, as well as analog networks that serve many outlying areas.

Another key calling feature of the VGA1000 is its enhanced voice recognition capabilities. The system allows you to speak numbers digit by digit or speak the name of anyone in your phonebook. Voice features are speaker-independent, so there's no need to train the phone to respond to any one person's voice.

    Messaging, Internet and Tools
If you need basic messaging capabilities, the VGA1000 has you covered as support is built-in for sending and receiving SMS text messages (Sprint PCS text messaging charges apply). T9 text entry, a technology that makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets, is built-into the unit-- a plus for text messaging users.

The phone also supports PCS Vision email and instant messaging capabilities. Sprint PCS Vision transforms the wireless experience from something that's simply functional into something visual, entertaining and highly personalized. MSN Hotmail, Yahoo Mail and AOL Instant Messenger are all supported by Sprint's PCS Vision service. PCS Vision mobile Web services let you check out sports scores, get your seven-day forecast, check your flight status, and stay up to date with the latest news. Experience full-color graphic versions of popular Web sites.

A number of handy software tools are bundled with the VGA1000 including a calendar, a calculator, an alarm clock and a to-do list. A voice recorder lets you record memos for later retrieval.

    Imaging and Entertainment
With its robust set of camera functions, the VGA1000 shines in the imaging department. The VGA-quality (640x480) digital camera lets you take, view, store and send pictures wirelessly in full color. You can also control brightness levels, white balance and color tone to get the image and effects you want. Other features include a self-timer for group shots, built-in fun frames to decorate your images, a multi-shot function for action sequences, and a self-portrait mode for special moments. Capture pictures in high, medium or low resolution and digitally zoom in up to 4 times. As mentioned, there's also a flash for low-light situations.

The VGA1000 lets you choose from a variety of pre-set images to customize your main and external displays and make them unique to you. With PCS Vision service, you can download games like Tetris and Pac-Man, as well as additional ringers, screensavers and backgrounds. You can even turn your phone into a gaming device with an optional, attachable game pad that makes it fun and easy to navigate when playing complex, fast-paced games on your phone.

    Vital Statistics
The Samsung VGA1000 weighs 4.48 ounces and measures 3.5 x 1.9 x 1 inches. Its lithium-ion battery is rated at up to 2.9 hours of digital talk time, and up to 168 hours of digital standby time. It runs on the AMPS 800/CDMA 800/CDMA 1900 frequencies. The phone comes with a one year limited warranty.

3-0 out of 5 stars OK phone.Probably better off with something else
+ Reception is fine - bar meter acts almost exactly the same as my Hitachi P300 when tested in various areas.I don't think that there is as much noticable difference in reception between today's phones as some people would make you think.(Quality between providers is a whole other story.)

+ Talk quality - my earpiece is too loud. There are about 6 volume levels.I always keep mine on 1 and it is still commonly too loud.I am thinking of sticking something on the earpiece to dampen the volume. To comfortably have a conversation, you want to be able to put the earpiece right up to your ear without getting blasted. Also, you don't want everyone in the room to hear your conversation.

I have intermittent faint beeps in my earpiece while using the phone (also reported by many other users of this phone).

+ Picture quality - Usually not very good; finicky about lighting conditions and requires subject of photo to be perfectly still. Also, if you want to email photos or put them on your PC, you must pay $5/mo for Sprint's picture service -- you can not just pay per Kilobyte.Or, I read that you can get a third party software and connection cable (not so fun). But, this is true of all Sprint camera phones.

+ Battery life - fine; up to par.

+ Bugs - when you are in the menu or on the web, the phone randomly exits and goes back to the initial wallpaper/screensaver screen. This problem is also widely reported by other users.(Yes, I have the current software: WL15).Not much of a problem if you use the phone only for talking, but if you like to play with the Vision and whatnot, this would be annoying.

+ The phone has a nice quality feel.It is heavy and feels substantial - not plasticy or like a toy.The screen is beautiful (far more brilliant than my Hitachi P300 screen). The phone also looks nice and classy. However, it is bigger than many clamshells - it may be too big for some people.

+ I had to do it all over again, I would not get this phone. It is not that bad, but you can do better.I value talk quality and physical design most in a phone (not cameras, internet, bells, whistles etc). While not entirely fatal, the talk quality issues that this phone has (i.e. earpiece too loud and faint beeps) brings its score way down in my book.

At this point, this phone is old. There are alot more Sprint phones to choose from that are probably a smarter choice.

I might look into the Motorola v60v or LG vi125 down the road (A featureless clamshell with good talk quality).Word on the street is that the newer LGs for Sprint are way better than the older ones which had tons of problems.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not the best phone
Had this phone for about 15 months; just long enough for the warranty to expire. Both my wife and I own this phone and we have the same problems with it.The phone has developed a habit of shutting off at just about anytime. I replaced the battery, but still have the problem on both phones.Lots of dropped calls, basically just not happy at all with it.Should have went with what my friend got, he is very happy with his sanyo phone, it gets better reception and no dropped calls.Dont buy a samsung.

4-0 out of 5 stars great great phone
have had the cell for about 1.5 years now and its great. though not as small as my older one, none the less the more important issue is that it works flawlessly. havent had any issue's with the phone. the cam on the phone as well is great, phone book is nice and big, keeps 20 of that last calls made saved better then my last one which only held 10 in place. all in all, the only bad thing is sprint service but thats not the phones problem.

edit - one issue no sms, text messaging can get expensive but if you dont do text messagin then dont worry about it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome, except for ink messages
THis printer rocks. As a PC consultant, I don't like HP PCs because of their software.I have seen them blow up numerous operating systems, plus HP installs software by the shovelful and gives the user no control over if they want it.
This printer has reasonable software, the image quality is awesome, really amazing. The photos compared to my HP 812C are just amazing.Printing on the 4x6 paper it is finally indistinguishable from a real photo.IT is a bit loud, but I slowed it down using the software driver which made a huge difference.(night mode they call it?).Individual ink cartridges will save lots of cash.

My ONLY complaint it that they warn you when the liquid ink is out, but there is still tons left soaked into the fibers in the resevoir.I printed over 100 pages after getting the first message about black ink - getting the dam pop up message every time.

2-0 out of 5 stars DON'T EXPECT QUALITY TEXT PRINTING
Apparently, this printer's forte is photo printing. I made the mistake of assuming it would print quality text documents too, which seems a much simpler task.I am very disappointed in the frequent ink smears, streaks, and blotches on the pages. It takes frequent cleaning procedures to minimize the streaks and blotches.I am incredulous that the ink smears when a highlighter pen is used on the text. This happens on pages with dry ink that were printed many months earlier!Highlighter pens seem to dissolve the dried ink.Periodically, during printing jobs, including the first page, the printer goes through some internal activity that can be frustrating when trying to print something quickly.

5-0 out of 5 stars best printer you can get in this price range
I love to print off picturs I take with my digital camera. This one does them professionally and fast.I Love the separate ink cartriges also.I'm blown away with the features. You will love it so don't hesitate, if you need a printer that does photos this one is for you. ... Read more

With 200 square inches of grilling space, this version of the celebrated GeorgeForeman Lean Mean Fat-Reducing Grilling Machine grills 12 burgers or chicken breastsat once, perfect for entertaining. The 1500-watt appliance's appeal lies in its simplicity, convenience, and speed--not to mention its fat-fighting ability. Two grills cook burgers, steaks, chicken, sausage, fish, shrimp, and vegetables simultaneously from the top andbottom--indoors or outdoors. The resulting grill marks not only look appetizing but alsocontribute caramelized flavor. The bottom grill's deep channels collect fat, and the grill issloped so the fat runs off into a dishwasher-safe aluminum tray (two included) stationedunder the unit's front. A floating 2-inch-high hinge permits grilling of extra-thick steaks. One dial on the stay-cool handle controls temperature; the other is a 30-minute timer.

Because the grills are nonstick, cleanup is a snap, requiring just a quick scrape with aplastic spatula (two included) and a quick wipe with a paper towel or a sponge. Overall, the grill measures 20-1/4 inches wide, 8 inches high, and 21-1/4 inches deep. It's made ofrugged black-and-gray cast aluminum and stands upright for compact storage. --FredBrack ... 1-0 out of 5 stars A piece of crap!
I wouldn't even rate this with one star!! I was given this grill for a birthday present. For the first year it was great. After about a year and a half, the non-stick finish on the grill started peeling off. Now it is a piece of crap that is hard to clean.I only cleaned it with hot water & dish soap.No abrasives! The numbers on the dial are worn off. Only a very few remain. The grease drips everywhere with very little in the drip tray.It started out as a wonderful piece of kitchen equipment but has turned into nothing but a big worthless piece of crap junk that sits on its recommended stand that you trip over the front leg as it sticks out into your walking path.

i used my first large george foreman grill so much, that the teflon eventually came off.i raved about that grill, but the gr62 i recently purchased is a different story.i just purchased another grill, from another company to replace it.the best thing i can say about the grill, is it looks great, and it has a very large cooking surface.the problem with mine is, it doesn't actually grill the meat.unless i'm cooking a very thick steak or some other thick meat, the top cooking surface doesn't touch the top of the meat.so, one side of the meat gets light grill lines, but the other side is just browned.the cooking surface doesn't hug the meat well enough.for the most part, i end up, sort of, baking my meat instead of grilling it.i've read other reviews, where people have complained the grill doesn't get hot enough.that may be part of the problem.

What used to be a time-consuming, messy process is now a snap. Measure the ingredients into the Breadman Plus, push a few buttons, then go for a walk in the park. Return a few hours later--or after a good night's sleep--to the unforgettable aroma and taste of homemade bread. This machine will even make the jam to top it off.

The Breadman Ultimate makes and bakes most kinds of yeast bread--white, whole wheat, rye, honey banana, or crusty French--as well as quick or batter breads. Try the recipes in the booklet or your own favorites--just be sure the dry ingredients total less than about 5 cups so the dough doesn't overflow the 9-1/2-inch (nonstick) baking pan. If your recipe calls for adding ingredients late in the kneading cycle, there's a tray to hold and automatically dispense them. If you want to make bread that doesn't conform to the loaf shape, the machine can mix and raise the dough prior to shaping for baking in a conventional oven.

For the beginner the process couldn't be easier, and even if you're an old hand at making bread from scratch, you'll find yourself baking much more frequently. And this machine quickly pays for itself: think of how many $3 or $4 loaves you won't be buying over the bread maker's lifetime! One drawback is worth noting: If you're a fan of the Breadman Plus, you may be less satisfied with the mixing results of the Ultimate's single bread hook versus the Plus's dual dough hooks. --Toni Reineke ... 1-0 out of 5 stars problem in shipping back defective breadmanTR2200C
I got this breadman TR2200C as a gift in April, the kneading paddle did not turn after three trail. The Salton company sent me a new bread pen, it did not help to resolve the problem. The salton company then asked me to send back the defective breadman and the new breadpen in one shipping as they are not willing to pay for two shipping (one for sending back the breadman, another for the sending back the additional bread pen). This is a big hassle for me, as I am struggling to find a box big enough to hold two.

I bake bread daily, using two machines. One is my 'old' model Hitachi, and the other is, of course, my new Breadman Utlimate. The bread from the Breadman is consistently better in texture, cooking time and cleaning up time.I have experimented with many different recipes and have yet to find one that did not turn out to be a loaf of bread I could proudly serve to my family and friends. I would not ever hesitate to recommend the Breadman Ultimate to anyone who is seeking a quality bread machine.

Well, I bought this machine and started making bread which I know how to do after owning a Zojirushi. The machine clacked and then ground down to a halt.I unplugged it and returned it.It was clear to me that the motor was of low quality as it could not handle the 1 and 1/2 pound loaf size. Not sure why there are so many good reviews on this.If you try this, make sure you note the return policy as you may need this. ... Allister is underrated but not that great. "Somewhere In Fullerton" is OK, but it sounds like something that would have made it to pop radio. "Overrated" isn't that great either. I don't really like pop punk. Indie punk (what I call emo) is better, as the musicians are more talented. Don't buy this, please. Only buy it if you like other poser punk.

Allister is okay. Not the greatest, but quite respectable.

Their songs are all extremely fun to listen to and are written quite well.

But I don't know, they lack SOMETHING. I can't put my finger on it, but something seems like it's not there.

If you like pop-punk (stuff like Simple Plan), power pop (stuff like All-American Rejects), you'll like Allister.

If pop-punk music was candy, Last Stop Suburbia would rot your teeth it's so good.Allister is the epitome of pop-punk, they could write a how-to book for it.This album is more than a step up from their previous album (Dead Ends and Girlfriends), it's a whole damn staircase up.Whereas on Dead Ends and Girlfriends you overlook the minimal production and sometimes off-key singing just because the songs are so fun and the lyrics are hilarious, no overlooking is necessary for Last Stop Suburbia.Just sit back and enjoy. It's teenage poetry about love and admiration made into music you'll want to blast in your car while you're driving with the windows down all the way. After multiple band members leaving and joining and Timmy trading in his drumsticks for a guitar, Last Stop Suburbia is proof that change can be a good thing.A very good thing. ...
